I thought Godfather Blackhand edition would be just another PS2 port with tacked on Wii controls but IGN just gave it an 8.0 and generally had good things to say about it. That makes it the 5th highest Wii game they've rated behind Zelda, SSX, Elebits, and WarioWare.
I'll probably rent it first but this is surprising news to me. EA is doing a good job even if it is just ports. Hopefully, they will have a few new IPs on the Wii in the next year or so...

Even though it's a generic dc client, it's also the offical SETI@Home client. There's a third-party client here (http://www.marisan.nl/seti/) though. Don't know if it's any different.
I'm sure you could just use your excisting account.. If you have an old account, there's some info about it on the mainpage (http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/) (you just need to click the 'active it' link to have the info mailed to you).

85C seems high, I have a 17 and a 20 and they fold 24/7 the CPU runs between 145F and 160F, which is about 72C. What's your ambient temperature and what do you use to get the CPU temperature?
If it really runs that hot, I'd be careful too.

My average is listed at about .54 posts/day. Even though I actually post about 5-10/day, it's that low because I joined in 2000, hardly posted, had my account deactivated (just lurked and read), had it reactivated in Fall 03 and have since posted over 700 posts over what I had within the first 3 years of my membership.
my thread title "one tenth of my life" seems so puny to what you can post as a thread topic saying "one fifth of my life" assuming you are only 20 or thereabouts
but then again, maybe you are an unsightly 55 year old looking for a date posing as a youngun...there are many cute women on macrumors, too ;)

That it runs like a charm (I've used the terminal and gui versions, but have only used the gui on my g5), and that the F@H (http://folding.stanford.edu/) FAQ has some good info.
Check project summary (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html) to see details on the protein you're working on, including links to a description (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/allprojects#1162) (my current protein), which may mean nothing to most of us, but is handy to show friends when describing the lil' app running hidden on the computer.:D
Of course, one should also look at the linkity link in numerous sigs leading to the well written Macrumors Folding info page (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=21908).
Thanks! Good info. Sorry for the confusion!
Your powerbook will get hot and the fan will be constantly running while you are folding. I suggest a targus coolpad with fans to keep it cool and to keep the loud PB fan from running. I have one, and it works like a charm. Keeps my PB folding quietly :)
I've got mine on an iCurve now so I think I'll be good. The fan's been running about half the time. I think I'm on "Automatic" processor setting right now. Changing it to highest probably would make it run constantly. You think I'd get a whole lot more done on the higher setting? I changed it the other day cause I was tired of my fans running too much.

For a LiveCD-only type of system I might go with SLAX (http://slax.linux-live.org/). It's small (enough for a 8cm CD) distro based on Slackware. There's also a base version ("Frodo Edition") that contain little more than the console shell and drivers, and another special version ("KillBill Edition") that comes with WINE (for running the Windows F@H client).

Yeah...
It gets confusing...
Here's what we know:
IBM will be talking about a 64-Bit PowerPC in Oct (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2002/08/20020808110527.shtml)
That is all we know for sure.
What I would rate as a reliable rumor is this:
that IBM/Apple have been in discussions about it (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2002/08/20020809122153.shtml)
beyond that, it's been pretty speculative.

so even the DDR RAM in the towers and the Xserves isn't fully used to it's full either?
and the reason that TiBooks can't fully use DDR is because of the bottleneck in the processor?
damn, i was starting to get all hyped on DDR...

Last week of voting. All votes end midnight this Friday. I'm very proud of the Folding community. A lot of folks from different teams are voting for the little guy.
macman64 (trainguy77) - You're now added to the list. I'm not sure if you want to get in the middle of (Dreadnought) & (redeye be) little dual with each other. It could get bloody.:p
Anyone else want to be added to the list to get my points?

Okay, I'll take a stab at it:
Q1 2005: iMac and iBook become the last machines to drop Moto processors for IBM PPC97x based chips. Apple announces that Sony will begin selling OS X.2 for x86-bundled Hammer-based machines.
Q2 2005: All apple products gain 802.11g. Apple announces iHub, an app that implements the next step in Rendezvous in which you iPod can function as not only a PDA and repository but a Universal remote. iHub allows for synching all USB/Ethernet/Coaxial/Firewire capable machines into a contiguous system controllable from anywhere.
Q3 2005: OS X.3 released with mind boggling new interoperability with every kind of data transfer possible that involves a microchip. Integral clustering support is added to OS X server and very quietly to the Darwin core. A freeware haxie client is available 4 hours later on Versiontracker for the consumer OS.
Q4 2005: The first quad-processor 97x powermacs and xServes are introduced equipped with a custom 256MB DDR Dual GPU graphics card and industry-first non-volatile RAM architecture running on a 450 DDR FSB.
Q1 2006: Apple ceases supplying Hard drives in the xServes due to the availability of sickeningly cheap non-volatile RAM. RAM and Volume size become one and the same for xServe eliminating the last speed bottleneck and reducing heat output tremendously.
Q2 2006: Microsoft begins feeling the heat from xJaguar and moves even more resources away from Windows and into Software and Consumer Electronics.

DONT buy one from EB, Gamestop, Rhino Games or the like.
This is not always true, but the fact that it CAN be true, should keep you far away. They accept opened XBOXs as trades. Meaning, someone opened the actual machine (you can tell because the screw on the bottom are found under the rubber feet and stickers) probably screwed it up royally and just traded it off.
Also, I havent been in a store for a bit but the markup, as usual, is horrendous. A used XBOX for $80 is a rip IMO. When on eBay you can find the same thing, probably never opened, with tons of games and accessories for only a few dollars more.
Craiglist is also a great place to check out.
If you want an older XBOX, I hope you are gonna mod that bad boy!? This makes it worth every penny and will pay for itself in entertainment, if you are so inclined.
I just want to buy it at GameStop for the convenience. I'd say the risk of getting one that's been opened is just as big on eBay. Plus, as you said, most of the ones on eBay come with a BUNCH of games and most are more than I'm wanting to spend. (like $150-200 with a bunch of games) I'm basically just buying the Xbox to play Forza. As long as it works, I'm cool. Plus, GameStop should have a return policy on their used consoles.
I doubt I'll be doing any modding or anything.

I didn't know before that "DVD Jon" is a movie star as well. He plays himself in the documentary Info Wars (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0415067/).
Hey, I wonder if we can get that movie on DVD and play it on our Linux systems. :D

WHO THE HAY GIVES A POO?!?!
So what if they come out late 2003 or at the January MWSF '04. Does it really matter? The answer is, no. Apple is not competing with the Windows world, in many ways. Especially not in "hardware specs." So what if these things are released around the time of a 4+ GHz P4. WHO THE HECK REALLY WANTS THAT CRAP?!
If you're into Apple, freaking yay. But don't act like a bunch of little weenies and get all super-paranoid and stressed over what may or may not happen in the future. Please. Apple will still be there, and if you're still a Mac user by then, you'll probably be pretty happy with the offerings. Enjoy what you have now, and get over it already. It's so funny you can go onto a forum and see hundreds of people bickering and going bonkers over the latest dorky Mac rumor, and almost nobody talking about what they even DO with their machines. Wudda world, wudda world...
Why is it that I have an old rev A G4 450 Sawtooth that rocks out to this day, even with its Rage 128 AGP (not Pro) graphics card. And all sorts of peeps are freaked because THE UBERMAC's freakin' SPEC scores are weak. I know that I couldn't give a rat's arse, and that's true for 97.5% of the Mac user base. I love my machine as much today -- no, in fact more -- than the day it arrived. The PPC970's are going to be BEASTS, and the thought of them makes me quiver.
