Feb. 1: Heather Morris, AKA cheerleader Brittany Pierce in the musical comedy series Glee, is 24 today.
Heather Elizabeth Morris was born in Thousand Oaks, California and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She began dancing at the age of one, eventually competing at a young age in a variety of styles including jazz, tap, and contemporary.
After graduating high school, Morris decided to enroll in a local university but moved to L.A. instead at age 19.
Morris' first significant appearance was in 2006 on So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 where she made the "green mile" but failed to make the final 20 by a vote of 3-2.
Afterwards, she moved back to Los Angeles and actively pursued a career in dancing. Her big break came in 2007 when Morris was one of Beyoncé's backup dancers on The Beyoncé Experience world tour and, following that, worked again with Beyoncé on a mini "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" promotional tour that included 2008 performances on the American Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Today, and MTV's Total Request Live Finale.
She also danced backup for Beyoncé and Tina Turner at the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008. She later appeared in a small role in the movie Fired Up, where she met choreographer Zach Woodlee. Following that film, Woodlee brought Morris in to dance on other shows he was choreographing, including episodes of Eli Stone and Swingtown, the movie Bedtime Stories, and eventually Glee.
Morris was taking acting classes and actively pursuing an acting career when she was asked by Woodlee to teach the choreography for Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" dance to the Glee actors. At the same time, the show was looking for a third cheerleader, and Morris ended up landing the role of Brittany. Initially a background character who hardly ever spoke, the role grew as writers discovered Morris had a gift for delivering one-liners.
Glee in Latex...
Actually these pictures were from the Glee episode featuring Britney Spears and Heather Morris take on the classic red catsuit!
Britney Spears is a pop icon wether we like it or not! I find her hot despite all the things that she went through.

Are we still talking about latex? We sure are!

Hometown: Born in Thousand Oaks, Calif., but raised in Scottsdale, Ariz., according to her Wikipedia profile.
Best Known For: Heather is best known for her role on Glee as the cheerleader Brittany. To call Brittany a dumb blond would be akin to calling the Eiffel Tower a hunk of metal, the Taj Mahal a desert structure, or Antarctica a cold patch of ground. Brittany takes the concept of vapid to a level so vast and all-penetrating that it becomes a sublime arena of cryptic enlightenment, with her non sequiturs and one-liners functioning almost like Zen koans.
Girl can dance, too. Speaking of which...

A small role in the movie Fired Up led to work on a number of TV shows -- Eli Stone and Swingtown -- and eventually to Glee, where she was initially hired to teach the other cast members the dance routine for Beyoncé's song "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."

Obligatory Edgy Stuff: Somewhere along the way, some artistic nude photos were taken. No one is complaining about this fact -- at least Ye Olde Podcaster is not. There have probably also been some complaints about the bisexuality of Glee characters Brittany and Santana (played by fellow celebrity crush profile subject Naya Rivera), though the show has largely tended to play it for comic relief and hasn't been as provocative as Ryan Murphy's earlier TV works might have foreshadowed.
Only Kinda the Courteney Cox Factor: Well, considering her background is in dance, it's not really surprising she'd have at least three music videos on her résumé -- maybe it would be more accurate to call it the Paula Abdul Factor, but I'm afraid that could carry a stigma of erratic behavior and hosting American Idol.
Beyond music and dance, she wrote, directed, produced and starred in a short titled The Elevator and co-wrote a Funny or Die video titled "Nuthin' But a Glee Thang."

Besides being amazingly fit -- dancing will do that -- Morris has made Brittany, simply put, one of the most reliably hilarious characters on television. She is for Glee what Neil Patrick Harris' Barney Stinson is for How I Met Your Mother, and perhaps (due to that moderation) even more so. (Oddly enough, she has guest-starred on his show as part of a big dance number, and he has guest-starred on hers as a rival to the glee club teacher.)
