DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GET iPSP.
IMO it's a far far better app than PSPware, but the keys for iPSP have a horrible tendency to not work. The company have seemingly disappeared, and do not reply to support emails. Check the reviews on VersionTracker and MacUpdate for further instances of this.
I actually loved iPSP, the way it would resize images efficiently to save wasting space on the Memory Stick was excellent. But as the company is either dishonest or defunct, you must keep right away.
PSPWare is at best average, at worst pathetic, but if you buy a licence it will definitely work.

If I said that I could do that if I really wanted to, would that go back to makign me a candidate for MPD?

Just the other day I was saying to a colleague of mine that I thought it would eventually would ship in March. I still believe that too, whether this story is true or not.
Let's hope Leopard has one or two killer features that get splashed across the media just as Microsoft announce the final delay in Longhaul shipping. Hopefully the Mac ads will embed into the public's minds, the new MacBook and iPod AV announcements will impress and keep Apple in the public eye and then boom, Leopard.
Finger's crossed.

Actually...you need to read a few articles
Nothing needs to be re-written. All that matters is the actual Operating System. No programs, games, or anything else. If the OS can run it, and apps run on the OS, then it works.
hahah, i laughed when i heard 2005

That last rumor I heard about the new DDR 1.25GHz PowerMacs shipping was mid-September...well it's mid-september now, and still no word.
I orderd mine the day they were announced!! I'm sick of waiting!!!
can anyone offer some rumors/speculation on this subject? Has anyone gotten theirs yet?
thanks,
-Nate

Thanks for the welcome, TyleRomeo! Actually, your thread was what originally made me consider the Formac. So what have you decided? Are you going to get one or wait longer?
Unfortunately, I don't think I can wait much longer. The hamsters powering my ancient 9600 are slowly dying one by one and it's killing my productivity. I'm thinking of getting a stop-gap system until next summer since eBay Apple resales hold their value so well. Does the Formac have HD support like the 23 or is it more like the 22?

My theory is that very little of that heat is actually contributed by the DDR ram. I think most of it is from the overclocked G4's they have in there.
I know, I know, you probably think that "no motorola has them running normally at 1.25Ghz" but i'm 90% sure those chips are overclocked, or else why would they run so hot? I mean a dual 1.25Ghz pentium machine produces MUCH less heat than those babies and we all know pentiums run a hell of a lot hotter than your average G4.
The memory has next to nothing to do with it.[QUOTE]

They aren't OC'ed. Get over it people. Apple couldn't do this legally unless they TOLD people they were OC'ed. The 1.25 GHz are the same type of chips as the 1 GHz, but they are specced to run at 1.25 on a 167 MHz FSB. The definition of overclocking is to run the processor at a higher speed than it is rated to run. The 1.25 GHz G4s are OC'ed 1 GHz G4s as much a 2.53 P4 is an OC'ed 1.9 P4.
Wait... bad example.
I wanted to add something to solvs message. Yes, overclocking a chip does raise the heat output of the chip. You're error is in the assumption that the heat from an overclocked chip is any higher then a chip meant to run at that speed. It doesn't matter how a chip speed is raised. It doesn't matter if it is because the manufacturing processes are more precise or the chip frequency is artificially boosted (overclocked). Either way the chip will increase in power consumption the exact same amount. This is unless the manufacturer changes the process it uses to make the chip i.e. shrinks the chip size.
Last but not least plain and simply if Apple has been approoved by Apple to sell a chip at 1.25Ghz it's simply because the chip tested at that frequency and if okay to run. Also overclocking describes an action taken by an end user it can not describe what a manufacturor does.

You have to keep in mind games are reviewed on a basis of what they are supposed to achieve, like a reviewer could give a sudoku game a 8.5 because it is a damn fine sudoku game but another game could score 8.5 but be much better. Another example, a 20$ game can be forgiven for a few of its flaws and still get a high score whereas a 60$ game can't be forgiven for a few flaws and its score takes a hit.
Scores are relative.
There is nothing wrong with re-reviewing VC games on a modern-games scale and that is why OoT gets an 8.9, because if I was to play OoT and say other game (say an adventure game like Okami or GoW) for the first time, I'd play and score GoW better EVEN though I might have had more fun with OoT 8 years ago than I had with GoW in 2005.
See what I mean?
I see what you mean but I don't agree. Classics are classics and they break their own rating system when they score games like Wario Ware that high. For instance they rated World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 International (PS2) higher than OoT on their own system. WTF?
GoW is a shooter with a facelift and cover system. OoT was revolutionary for its time. Granted, M$ is doing a good job innovating with their online system.
Basically, it seems that we shouldn't rely on Gamespot for guidance on games at all. Sites like metacritic and gamerankings are by far the most balanced because they try to boil the reviews from all of the critics down. Still it is best to play a game before passing judgement but many don't do this, they just buy the games that get the best scores. Excite Truck was much better than any of the scores reviewer gave it.
In any case, we could argue this point all day. My original intention for making this post was to point out that Godfather got a much better score from a reputable review source than I would have expected. It could be a biased reviewer, or a fluke but from the text of the review, it sounds like EA surprised them by adding much more playability and content to the game. As I said before, I think EA is doing a good job with the Wii. Ports are fine if they do a good job with them. An original game would be appreciated too but this early in the console's life, that might be a little much to ask. So far, their games have been (for the most part) good quality and that is what is most important.

uhh... not quite...
Digg is down due to metropolitan network issues that took down
several of digg's upstream network providers this morning. The metro
network is being repaired and digg will be back as soon as possible.

you'll have to pardon my ignorance about intel processors as i probably dont know what i'm talking about... but why would apple expend so many resources building osx for x86? we're all waiting for the 32-bit ppc to die in hopes of the G5 and it would seem rather counter-intuitive of apple to focus on what many of us agree is an inferior structure. i had heard somewhere that amd chips use an x86 emulator but that athlon was some different type of processor which was more powerful (i am probably totaly wrong but i have a friend who swears by the speed advantage of amd over intel). why isnt apple focusing on this architecture or some of the other 64 bit processors that are already in production? if its mhz that is the major concern, the newest breed of 68k chips are getting close to 2ghz, but i dont see anyone rushing to port operating systems back to that architecture.

It is wrong? How so? If I burn a track for my wedding video, yes, I'm technically breakeing the law, but there is nothing immoral about doing that. No one is losing out on any money. No one is being hurt. He isn't stealing anything. He's breaking a copyright law that makes no sense in that case.
If you add it to your wedding video for your own use then you are not. If you make copies of the video and give them to the wedding guests then you are.

So, FF1-6. Which is your favourite and why? Remake or original?
Right now I'm loving FF3 on the DS (lovely art design, catchy music, seems better paced than the first 2), the first because it feels ultra-old skool and 6. bored with FF2 and 4, at least for the time being.
