FOR THE MAC DUDES HAVIN ISSUES WITH ITUNES DOWNLOADS:
IF mac towers are able to use 3rd party sound card systems like PC's do.. then every thing i just stated should work.... but i havent had the pleasure of trying it...so i cant be sure.... But there are other ways.... tooo for this "trick" to WORK
you can take the sound output of your compouter/ipod and run it though a tape deck, DV deck,- record it- then using a program like FCP or sound track... or a 3d party one... run the auido back though the machine.. and have it record it... OR
go out and buy a CD-R burner Sterio system unit... run the out put into it- it will record it to the disk... take the disk and pop it in to the mac pull the track to the desktop and use sound track to trim......
<snip>
Hey midgetwarrior -
You probably didn't know about Audio Hijack Pro (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/), did you? With that, you don't need to monkey around with all this third-party soundcard business, and it works on any Mac. It does much the same thing this hack does with Winamp, only this is infinitely more flexible.

seeing as sony make DVD-RW/CDRW combo drives themselves it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't release compact versions for laptops till well after they've used them as a selling point for their own laptop range.
Why would they suddenly let apple and others use thier drive if it might mean losing sony vaio sales ?
Saying that, it's the first I've heard of a company making a dvd-rw for a laptop and I could be wrong about it being a sony drive.

Yes, but there is a core group of you that's more than just been around for a year. I've not even been here that long and I've seen tons of changes.

Hey guys, I currently run a site off of a friends server so he doesn't want to give me all the passwords and information to fill out pbpBB stuff. Is there any one else I can use besides pbpBB to get a free forum for my site?

This brings back good memories of standing in the queue of Regents Street opening - we wll wanted iPod's or iPod Mini's at the time. Rumours in the queue were spreading like wildfire.
We all got Luckybags (well the first 250 ppl anyway) and we loved it. The atmosphere was friendly - StarBucks even offered free coffee!! :)
Good times. My brother and I are still on the Regents Street minisite :) I think we only got about 2hours sleep that night. very cold November I'll tell ya!
Were we the last store to offer the LuckyBags?

What I'd like to see is something that will format CD-RW's so you can read and write to them just like a floppy. Simular to Roxio's Direct CD on Windows
True that. And ditto for faking it using multi-session and CDRs.

^Are you sure you are not Daniel Craig trying to promote CR to increase DVD/BR sales:D
Bless
Well if you purchase Casino Royale by Sony Pictures available March 13th on DVD and Blu-Ray, starring Daniel Craig and Eva Green which has been given "Two Thumbs up" - (Ebert & Roper) and has been called "A non-stop thrill ride....you will nearly crap your pants" - (some guy from nerdyfatassblog.net) You will see that Daniel Craig doesn't need to promote Casino Royale, because in it's infinite-awesome-amazing-spectactular-ness, it sells itself.

No, $9 an hour is a good wage for a high school/college student. I guess I just got it lucky because I have a college job that pays over $10 an hour. :)
Well I am jealous that is for sure...

The present speed bumps are still better than when Apple was stuck at 500mhz for 18 months with the G4.
IF it was up to motorolla we would never have even had the DDR hack in the xserve and G4 mirror doors.

My world holds together quite well when people disagree, actually. Better than yours must, especially since history has proven my argument and disproven your morally relativistic approach. That society exists is a testament to you being wrong.
Ho ho, the fact that this program and discussion exist proves the fallacy of your argument. People will always T-H-I-N-K for themselves and make their own minds up about what is moral. That is all I ever said. That is all we are doing here - thinking. You are putting forward the argument that BECAUSE there is a law being broken it is wrong to break it. While I may agree with you on this particular case (I don't), my argument is simply that laws being broken do not define morality. If you would stop winding yourself up I do not think you would disagree with this.
Furthermore, if you lose the argument that breaking a law does not make you, by definition, immoral, then it follows quite easily that folks who want to use this app should and those that don't, should not - on moral grounds alone.
Everyone (except the rich and powerful) is bound by the same laws - there is no disputing that. So if you, or anyone else wants to kill me or break a copyright, you are subject to the laws of the land. I will always support your desire to reason what you will do out for yourself. Follow the laws if you WANT to. But do not follow them just because they are the law.
Can you really disagree with my desire to live my life that way? You yourself said that you speed. How is using this app any different from you deciding to speed or not. Are you going to teach your child that speeding is immoral?

I must admit that it's a good photoshoping Glowurm. There's no bitterness here, but this whole thread has stumbled upon something that I think Apple should persue. I would love to have a subnotebook that small and it just goes to show how constrained and outdated the Apple lineup is now. Where's this digital hub that Job's was talking about? So far it's been all software (sans the best MP3 player, iPod). I want to see iPhones and iDigicameras and iWalks or iDuo-notebooks. Apple has always created both hardware and software for their computers which is the reason why the OS runs so smoothly. Why not expand?
I always get too excited about these rumors because most of them are really great ideas. I want a true digital lifestyle that is centered around my Mac. If Apple starts making even half of these faked products, they would have my money for many years to come.

That company has always gotten on my nerves. All they do is repackage open-source software (older releases of the software) and sell it. Does that not defeat the purpose of the open-source idea? If they really wanted to be cool, they wouldn't sell GNU software in download format.
Also, they could give everything an integrated name-theme.
Months ago, I had to test a project on a PC. Since my PowerBook was down at the time, I had to try Bochs. Didn't go well - was too slow, and I couldn't really understand how to optimize it. Then I came across OpenOSX Wintel 1.2. Optimized for the G5! they said. I blew $20 or $30 on it - can't remember. Not much faster than Bochs and more importantly, no updates unless you buy into their subscription plan.
The guy was also a complete jerk when he got around to answering my support questions after a couple of days. Short, one- or two-sentence curtly-written replies and for one question, he just sent a link with no explanation on how to implement it. Before your ask, I had only three questions for him, which I don't consider an unreasonable amount. If he did anything for me, it would be that he turned me on to learning how to make open-source work for me instead of buying from him.
I like Mellel. It's fast and inexpensive for the time being. I hear Nisus Writer Express is pretty good too.
