interesting.
My first thought: as long as they make it a racing game ;)
serious, the first thing i did was google 'ps2 folding', look what came up as the second result :). http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-23298.html
Anybody want to try this?

I think when he says Menu Bug he's referring to a problem when trying to use certain sites that have drop down menus in their navigation.
You roll over the navigation on a site, the menu pops down, you move your mouse to the drop down and it disappears. And back to Safari I go.
I'd really like to switch over to Firefox. The other thing I"m looking for is inline-spell checking like Safari.
ugh, the principal reason i use safari now. its just a pain to hit return while mousing over an item...

Damn, I hope not. Software updates are so boring...but necessary nontheless.

I don't know... Personally, I'm waiting for now. I'm saving up, so there aren't any funds to buy a 360 now anyway. But, I'm really hoping by the time I'm ready to buy a 360, there will be a redesigned X-Box 360. There will be no division between the "old X-Box 360" and "new X-Box 360" owners. The GBA was revised twice and fairly quickly. The DS was revised shortly after the original fat. The PlayStation 2 had its revision. You could even say the GameCube got dumbed down when they go rid of the component video cable port. The only leaked photo of Zephyr showed that it was the old beige box with an added HDMI port. For all we know, the revised X-Box might just add a HDMI port.
I'm waiting to see a cooler running X-Box 360, smaller, built-in WiFi ($100 for a USB dongle is ridiculous), possibly internal hard drive (charging us for a proprietary hard drive?!), and most importantly, the premium model hits $299. I don't care about HDMI. I don't care about a black X-Box 360.
Do I expect to see a revision at all anytime soon? I'm really doubtful. I'll probably end up with the $399 premium X-Box 360 this summer, but I'm hoping there will be a redesign by the time I'm ready to buy.

I'm just saying that the inevitable wrath-of-God response from Apple is somewhat unwarranted.
More like the wrath-of-Jobs!
Anyway, I've never been one to agree with the Windows people that argue the security-by-obscurity for why Mac OS X is not hacked to bits like Windows, but it would seem that this adds aome serious fire to their arguement. Here in music where Apple is the most popular and widely used, they are getting hacked (semi-successfully) more often than their WMA counterpart.

it doesn't feel any faster than my ibook g4
You may very well be the first and only person ever to think that way.
I was at the Apple Store recently and was amazed by even the Mac Mini's tremendous feeling power compared to my 1.8ghz G4.

A mispelling offers no proof that I'm lying about my age, and I'm not lying about it either.
He wasn't talking to you about your age, he said that because you haven't been very mature in some of your responses.
Bad form. Just because you disagree with something, doesn't give you the right to close the thread.
The thread's not going to get closed because dukestreet disagrees with it, if it were to get closed it would be because you've been rude to some of the other posters.

However, you can't buy a Macintosh version of the 4Ti 4200.
Since nVidia doesn't create anything but the reference video cards, various companies create the actual retail and OEM versions. Apple is one of the OEMs and they really don't see any reason to put money into a weaker card. Two levels (for the PowerMacs) is enough. Perhaps, if one of the smaller Windows video card players were interested in a small market, they could be convinced to sell and support their cards.

I havn't got around to reading the spec (not sure I'm that interested) but I assume it's some kind of "bit bucket" where the literal raw data off of the sensor gets shoved.
Adobe have the advantage of having looked through all the propriatry raw formats for the existing filters. I guess they spotted a lot of commonalities between them all and thought "blow this for a game of soldiers! Lets make our own version".

If you want to buy one, it doesn't really matter when you buy it because they're not coming out with a new model. :o
People thinking they will do so fail to realize that doing that would split the market between "old 360" owners and "new 360" owners, which means a) you'd piss off a lot of people who bought the original, and b) some 360s would have better tech specs than others so you'd potentially have to recode games to take advantage of HDMI and the larger HD.
Microsoft has gone on record saying that the HDMI/120g HD model is a devkit prototype only and will never see the light of day. :o
I agree with you 100%. Microsoft is either going to release an HDMI cable that works with existing systems or they won't do anything. It makes no sense for them to release a new system with added features that can't be added to a previous model. I can see them releasing a larger hard drive or changing the color, but that doesn't make it any different than the previous system. Think about any console design update, the PS2 slim only made the system smaller and included features that could added to the original if wanted. I think it would be a horrible move on Microsofts part and really hurt their chances at becoming a serious console developer if they decide to release a 360 with HDMI built-in and exclude people who have one now.

I just got an email from Best Buy advertising that they now sell Macs.Again??
Best Buy has had an on-and-off love affair with Macs. Mostly off.
What is this, the third time they've decided to sell Macs again? Anyone wanna take bets on how it'll last this time?

I used to use Quark (five years) and then switched to InDesign two years ago. I have never looked back. Does anyone know a designer or art director who went back to Quark? Price and printers are the only two stumbling blocks. Apple knocked down one, now we need to give free copies to printers so they can find out what we've known for years.:)

In my last post of June 15 2005 I stated I was #330. Now on July 11 2005 I'm at #259. I love this.
Just a heads up, I got involved with folding after sruviving colon cancer in 2002 then in 2004 I lost my gallbladder (it burst) and now 2 weeks ago I was informed the cancer has now returned to my liver :(
I'm scheduled to go inot surgery on July 28 and will be loosing at least 75% of my liver (if it's healthy enough to survive) I will be back ;) ;)
FOLDING@HOME is a good thing, and I feel with our continued help and crunching the answers to more than just protein folding can be accomplished and the cures for diseases other than those listed on the home page:

Personaly, I'm giving most of my extra clock cycles to distributed.net, and have been for years. Most cycles go towards the RC5 project. So far as I know it's the only distributed project where you can win something, however slight the odds, but at least it's something to shoot for. I figure the potential winnings could finance my next Mac. Anyway the odds are better than powerball.

The only change that I would predict would be the move to a 166MHz system bus and an ability to clock slightly higher. Motorola hasn't yet updated their site with information on the 7455, so one could presume that Apple is preventing Motorola from releasing such information to the public. Quite possibly, the 7455 has clocked to 1.33 or 1.4GHz, but due to an agreement with Apple, Motorola must withold such information until faster PowerMacs are shipping.
Eh, more than likely there is very little difference.

So today I finally placed my order on the Dual 1.25 GHZ PowerMac, it should arrive by Monday at the latest.
So I'll be proud to say I'm a switcher after being on these forums for over 6 months now. i fell back in love with macs early this year and can't wait to get hands on it.

There's only one time I had to worry about different cockspeeds, and it had nothing to do with a computer.
But, seriously, folks...
I think a desktop-replacement book would be nice, but only as an adjunct to the current or similar TiBook... there's not a whole lot of competition on the PC side (it seems you either have lower-end iBook-like books, or big heavy power-sucking monsters.)
