Ditto what everyone else has said here... short domain names are cool if you can get them (I have "clayj.com"), especially since you can then have a short e-mail address (mine is "clayj@clayj.com"... it has the added distinction of being MY name at MY domain and it's easy to remember).
But long domain names and long e-mail addresses have ZERO appeal except to the eclectic among us.

I thought this was a plugin for iTunes, not a stand alone app.

i think it would depend on what apps and OS your using on each comp, if you were using software that recognises dual processors (photoshop etc..) then you prolly wouldnt notice a huge difference but for every-day usage i would have thought the PB800 would be at least 20% faster - thats just my estimate though.

" In addition, the console is being designed to provide a view of the most recent viruses found on each Macintosh within the network along with the 10 most prevalent viruses."
Ooo, that'll provide whole seconds of entertainment
So is the previous lack of this IT tool the reason my college IT department insisted on taking my PB from me for 12 hours and installing the anti virus software themselves?
It pissed me off to no end. I take it to them and tell them I'm a pretty advanced user, I think I can install it myself. The guy at the desk answers "yeah but we have to do it"
me - "why?"
them - "because you can't do it on a Mac, we have to do it"
I let it go at that. I was always told it wasn't proper manners to harm someone you've only just met. I'll find him later in the year...
*cough*
Excuse the small tangent...

... I machined parts for a company that made lead frame trim and form machines. Motorola was their biggest customer. Most of the machines went to Malaysia.
What this generally meant then was that the production was generally trouble free and in volume.
The only speculation I would make from this is that capacity would be freed up for ramp up of follow on parts (7470?) and that prices on G4's might drop to a price favorable to inclusion in iBooks.
Other than these observations...I'll hold on to my $.02 for awhile...

I disagree. It's not worth it to spend $5 on media that I can't re-write.
With an external HD, as long as you perform regular backups, you'll always have a copy of your work somewhere. You don't really expect two seperate drives (especially if one is external) to go kaput at the same time?
...I could however see myself crushing 4GB of DVD data as it rests at the bottom of my backpack...

Kids being kids, of course, they have iPods and they use Google, just not when Dad is watching. Telling kids not to do something is the best way to get them to do it.

My bro's interested in a new HDD (doesn't care for HDMI) and his drive is almost full. Hopefully MS will bring out some app to encrypt and send your drive down the ethernet port to either a different Xbox or a PC, to then send onto the new Xbox.
Either way theres about 6-7gb of stuff that downloading on a 512kbps connection would take a lifetime. I trust MS will sort it. they're quite thoughtful when it comes to the 360.

Yep this was the 'launch gem'.
It wasnt really dismissed because it received a good share of critical acclaim, just that it was out marketed at lauch by other titles.
The game imho is actually better than F.E.A.R. It has more originality, is far scarier and the story is actually very good. It's like SEVEN meets 'The Damned' ....
You can get it on budget 'classic' label now and it's well worth picking up.

I am thinking an echo is good for keeping ones voice as an alias to the original. ;) :)
an update should have this fixed as a standard instead of an option. :)
True, but it does eliminate having to repeat stuff ;)
BTW-Maya, this poster child for tsunami turned my head; but at second glance, I guess it's not that close.

Toronto is supposedly getting a third store later this year, at Sherway Gardens...I haven't seen any word on store size.
Good ... but hopefully, that is not their flagship store either.
I'm guessing Yorkville's posh flagship stores will attract Apple to this location. I still think they should have located a large store at Canada's busiest intersection: Yonge + Dundas Square.

It just edges out Camino when loading most stuff--which is basically instantaneous, complete drawing of most pages the second I click--going from Google to Fark to MacBytes takes just over 3 seconds at most--click(ld)click(lded)click(looaded).

There is also the fact the people were looking at the new PM motherboards and saying...hmmm...this could be used for something else...
Also, if IBM is going to mass ship the the chips in 2Q then Apple already has the engineering samples...

Thanks... I was thinking that it would post when the first WU was complete, and I was right... I checked this morning and it looks like my first WU is a monster... 400 frames that are taking about 13 minutes each to complete on this P4 1.8ghz machine. So, I don't think I will be posting any points until later this week. I'm trying to get these OLD machines up and running work, but the problem I am having is actually a lack of network ports. I need to find an unused hub somewhere so I can get them all online. They are some pretty ancient computers, all the way down to PII's and some PIII's, so I would like to try and cluster them together to share work units.
The trouble is that they HAVE to be Windows (98) boxes, as they are technically spares that have to be ready to deploy to my coworkers if they need a replacement machine while I fix up their normal computer... Any suggestions?
N/M the above question... I looked at the machines and determined that the P2's were too slow to keep around (350mhz was the fastest), and just stuck with the 2 P3's (500mhz and 1ghz). Those two are fast enough to finish WU's within the deadline on their own, so they're up and running.
I have 4 P4 1.7ghz machines folding for the MR team now, at about 80% time or more, and the 2 p3's going at 100% 24/7. I don't think my first WU will go through for another couple days, but there should a bunch finishing all around then so hopefully it will make a decent contribution. I'd add my mini but the increase in CPU use causes the fan to spin up and I really like my computer to be as close to silent as possible. Alas, I have a bunch of Windows machines folding for the MR team, and not a single Mac!
