Hehe... Getting what they deserve, I suppose...
Not that they really deserve it, but it always warms my heart when I see an Apple put-downer be laid to rest :o

To the OP, yes, certain companies including Apple have inspired me to not take advantage of certain situations above others. I see nothing wrong with what you did, you essentially traded one printer offer for the other...you bought a computer which you returned, kept the printer, bought another computer, and turned down the free printer offer. You got the same results as you would have if you had returned the original printer, only with way less hassle. The fact that you would feel bad about taking a 2nd printer says a lot about you, seeing as how a lot of people would not hesitate to grab another printer and sell it. Ignore the thread pissers. Every forum has those self-righteous yahtzels.

maby I'm missing something here...but for a graphics program they sure have a crappy website. I'm not saying it has to be mind blowing but it should atleast look a little pleasing to the eye. That's just...bleh
I think their just making an interface for GIMP which is a Unix graphics program.

As I've said before, never chose a games machine over a computer or anything used as a creative device.
But the PS3 is a computer ;)
I had to...sorry,it just fit so well. There just wasn't a spot like this in the war thread

As long as they take people away from that gawd awful uncompliant MSIE crap I don't care who else they take out. I'm so sick and tired of having to go out of my way to support that stupid browser, when every other one works perfectly.

hi all.. I recently started using the terminal client rather than the gui client I used before and I notice the terminal seems to take much longer than the gui client to finish 1%.
is this normal or do I just by chance have a very big work unit?
thanks.

Good call. As I recall the chip in charge of decoding MP3 data was able to encode MP3s, but I wonder if that's as far as it will go.
Since I am not an bergeek (meant in a complimentary way) I would think that it would be more likely that you could use the firewire port to connect to the next generation of Hi-Fi audio systems (such as Panasonic's new entertainment system that uses a single FireWire cable to connect various components) and encode/download audio from there.
What algorithms and calculations go into an AAC file is beyond me, but feel that it would be too complex, but then again I like being suprised.

Microsoft is not so good to keep secrets. ;)

In the XNA Game Studio Express forums at MSDN, an XNA Framework Developer has accidentally confirmed the existance of the unannounced Elite Edition of the Xbox 360.
In a forum post that asks "Will the HDMI output on the revised 360 require any code changes ", Microsoft software enginner Shawn Hargreaves responded that "no changes required" for existing XNA code. This pretty much confirms the new Xbox 360 model that is rumored to come with a built-in HDMI port.

card technology seams to change so fast now it makes the computer upgrde market look positively stable - where do you draw the line in the sand and say enough already - can a geforce 5 or ati 9700 really do anything major to improve your current gaming experience that a decent 128mb g4 or 8500 couldnt? and if so is it worth shelling out the extra dosh or just wait a few next big things pass by before reinvesting
its more of a longevity issue, the top fo the line 128mb 8500 that you bought a few months ago will have some trouble running doom3 at all high settings, and who knows how well it will run quake 4 at all. If i get a 9700 now, maybe i wont notice that much of a difference between a gef4 or 8500, but come janaury when i can run Quake 4 inj 1280x960 (or whatever is above 1024x768) at all hgih settings without a fram skipping ill be happy.

Well it does make since in some ways. The Network Adminstor doesnt report to school adminsters. He reports to the superindent at best and with 52 schools one AP is small fries and request like that will not aways be taken care of.
As for proxicing out it. that not really going to work simplely because the computer still has to route back to the school and go though there web blocking. Now if there was let say a personal computer at home he could remote desktop to. that could get around it since that computer does not deal school networking.
Prox has it limitions. A VPN might work since all request are sent though it but then again that gets into some pretty messy stuff to set up.
Thanks, at least I can give him an educated answer.

Looking at Apples naming strategy at the moment i belive if on is released it will be called a "Macbook Mini" or somthing simler.

Office 12 will be a simultaneous release for both PC and Mac. It's supposed to be the first release achieving feature parity between the Mac and Windows versions.
Currently Office:mac 2004 is, in my opinion, a superior version to Office 2003 for Windows.
oooo!!! That's cool.
link?
