Apparently they're ditching the hand crank for a foot pedal. Really it's more like a plus-sized palmpilot than a computer. But it's a good idea.

The only time I've ever thought Sephiroth was cool was in Advent Children and that was briefly.
IMO in FFVII he was a big emo pansy, just like Cloud.
I did think the part where you have him in your party, fighting the titanic monster in the mountains & he takes it out in 1 shot, was pretty bad-ass.
VI definitely. I liked IV, but the story was too linear and characters that locked in at certain points in the game made it a bit less fun. If I can't modify my party on the fly then it gets on my nerves.
When did you play II? Before or after III? I've always though II was so good because before that, you had FF I and Dragon Warrior. "Wow, here's FF II, a game with a deep & twisty plot, actual dialogue, actual emotions, ATB, great effects, and lots of unique characters!" It was so superior to everything that came before. I don't think you could "modify your party on the fly" in anything else at the time, at least anything on a comparable technical & narrative level. It was such a sea change - plus, the closest (& last) to a Western-style sword-and-sorcery fantasy, with minimal technical aspects.

I'm on the Apple website and just realized that a 12" iBook equally configured to the specs I ordered on the 14" iBook is $100 more? Go figure. Anyone have an explanation?

What do you mean "coming out with?" I've had my 2.2ghz Dell laptop since September 26th. I don't forsee a PBook that I would even think about buying until the 130nm G4's are out, hopefully within the first part of 2003.

Anyway, e-mail is an outdated internet technology in my opinion, as there are so many alternative forms of communication (such as webforums, myspace/blogs, and instant message clients) that tend to serve most people as far more convenient.
They all have their place but I don't see any of those alternatives replacing email, especially not for business.
Posts on webforums/blogs/wikis are akin to group emails without the privacy. Occasionally useful but certainly not ideal for private matters. Yes, you can password protect posts but how is that possibly more convenient than sending a direct email?
IM is great IF you're both logged on at the same time. And IM does not lend itself well to longer, more considered conversations.
All the alternatives you mentioned have their place and are useful in the right circumstance but, like I said, I don't see any of them replacing email as the main tool of communication for most people.

Nah, the guy who used to rent the house used to pawn a lot of stuff. The address was on file with several pawn shops in the area as his residence.
The pawn records and the name on the lease should have pointed them onward, since he is likely to keep pawning crap at his new place.
But your stuff is probably his toy until he gets tired of it, or has already been sold.
Or the son of the lady who is there did it, and had already sold the box to a friend.
Especially odd if she admits to have lived there since January 1st.
Two scumbags in a row at the same house isn't too far out of the question if the homeowner rents to the same pool of people.
