I would be embarassed as heck if I had that in my living room. I think it looks pretty crappy. I'm more for the stylish mods...like the wood mac set or something in sleek glass or something...way too kiddie or hard core rpg nerd fanboy for me

Yes, they are completely free to use in compositions, non-commercial or commercial. I would post the whole license but it's a tad long.

Alpha did use the word "Peace" in the Upcoming G5, G6, G7 thread, which suffered dearly due to the hands of spikey, who doesn't seem to be coming back.

The .eu internet domain name is now available!
The top level domain has actually existed since December, but restricted to holders of prior rights... however, from today, anybody living in the EU can apply for a .eu domain name.

linkety-link(2) (http://www.eurid.eu/en/general/) to the European Registry of internet domain names
So has anybody rushed out to register macrumours.eu? ;)

Perfect work around for no AAC support (protected and 'open') on Tivo. Great Job by the author. Yeah, I had a little issue with getting it to work, but that was firewall related and me not doing the right thing (reading a readme file.... who needs one, right?), but it seems stable!!

There have been reports of GPU's burning up from the heat while on standby. I had to move the wii as it was in the direct downwind of the PS3, which didnt help any. It's warm to the touch even when on standby.

Since when is there a GPU in a Wii :P just kidding

All of the major Apps are dual aware, as is the OS!
Try that with XP Home.
i don't think there is an easy way to test a mac vs a pc for speed issues
but overall, i like barefeats and i think those tests give one a general idea of what a machine can do and are not specifically one hundred percent accurate all the time in the tests
sometimes magazine comparisons between two pc machines are not equally matched in terms of ram, video card, etc...
one thing is certain, the athlon is faster than the duron, the pentium 4 is faster than the celeron, and the G4 is faster (in photoshop) than the G3...but beyond that, it is hard to get a perfect reading
my overclocked 2 cents;)

Interestingly, I notice lately that the more successful Apple becomes, the more I see articles from this firm or that spokesman relating Apple's decline in education, overall market share, stock price, or some such. Yet, I also notice that software vendors who had abandoned the Mac are rejoining the fold. Others who had never supported the Mac are porting their apps to MacOS X. Mac-only vendors seem to be doing better than ever.

Yet, Apple can't move its new machines fast enough.[/i]

I saw this posted earlier (can't find it easily now).
However, I'd trade the ability to own an iPod and use Google while young for a billionaire father any day. Seems like, sooner or later (sooner, given Ballmer's rotundness), you'd be able to buy all the iPods you wanted.

Memery: 512mb DDR2
Grahics: Intel GMA950 with 64mb Shared (Also Mini-DVI)
Screen:4.5 inch with 1024x768
Networking: Gigabit Ethernet

I don't think this bird is going to fly. $479 is only $20 less than the base PS3 which comes with the Blu Ray. For a difference of $20, I'd rather have the PS3 than the 120gb 360. The 360 has been on the market too long for something like this. Some current owners might buy one if their existing unit dies, but otherwise I think most of them would rather put the money towards a PS3. They will also be selling the 120gb drive separately, but for "under $200" it's not worth it. The only reason I can see them doing this is for the HDMI port, which is the only way for HDCP to work, which tells me that the Hi-Def content providers are ready to start implementing more difficult to break copy protection on their discs and current 360 owners with the HD-DVD drive won't be able to view the movies in HD resolution unless they upgrade to the new machine.

I'm not sure this is the type of "distributed computing" this forum refers to... ;)
That being said, I'd agree with mj that going with the same brand is probably a reasonable idea. I used to do that with a Linksys, but then I got "hacked" firmware and just upped the transmission power. No more problems.
But then, I don't print wirelessly either, except occasionally through my iMac.

It may seem drastic, but your suggestion is probably right on h?.

what a good day this is !!!! roll on next week , now if i can just get one of them 20" to watch the live feed !! i wonder if the dealers will price drop straight away ?? if so i might drive to nottingham to pick one up!!!
" an Apple a day keeps Micro$oft away "
I was just thinking how random it must be for people in the oxford street retail store to just suddenly see the prices drop. Imagine how bizare it would be if you were just walking out and a man was going round decreasing the prices.
I'd give them a ring before you go, I don't know where you buy but i often try jigsaw (they will let you come and pick it up if you ask) and they tend to have a lot of stock and sometimes lower prices, although I doubt it on this!

if you have any questions, ask away! What kind of school group was it?
What did you and others who didn't get stuck do while waiting for those that did get stuck?
What did those who got stuck tell you about the experience later?
Did any of them get interviewed by the media?
Did Apple explain what happened? Did they apologize or make any other nice gestures? Do you think they handled it as well as they could?
Will you ever go back there?
