I noticed it's the younger peeps that liked FF 7 better than the FF loving friends I know that are about my age.
I voted FF3.
I have FFIV for the GBA, it's slathered in CHEEEESE. :) I just need to finish it. I almost shite myself when I noticed readers from Nintendo Power gave it an award for best writing/story in a game. They can't be serious?

what's wrong with macdailynews?Read enough user comments there and my remark to Earendil will eventually make sense. :)
It was sarcastic humor, if anyone even cares. Actually MDN has been relatively calm and civil lately, especially without the political firestorms.
Btw, that's a classic clueless IT story, Earendil. It's both sad and comical how their strict, stubborn Windows-centric antivirus policy insisted on making unnecessary hassles for you with controlling, fearful, reactive behavior that exposed their ignorance about Mac OS X. Any negotiations under those circumstances can be hopelessly frustrating but getting too pissed-off only seems to counterproductively fuel their delusions. Good "luck"!

Download the Mac OS X Text console (PPC) - assuming you have a G4 or G5 chip.
Oh, can't I do it on the iMac? :o

Your talking about buying a new video card for games that aren't available yet. Save your money and buy the latest and greatest video card when the games you want to play are released.
This assumes of course that you are unhappy with the GeForce 4 MX when Doom and UT 2003 arrive.

I love how an update ''PORT" is classed as an "EXCLUSIVE" ..
That has to be the biggest OXY-MORON ever.
I'd get this 'IF' they have a difficulty option. The original Ninga Gaiden was toooooo hardcore that I got very fustrated and eventually lost interest.
Yeah, I mentioned how ridiculous this is before.
I guess that means Guitar Hero II is *exclusive* to 360!

leave god out of scientific reasoning, you cant mix blind faith (and it is blind) with science.
Blind faith, yes, I'd agree with you - just automatically going along with whatever anyone else says without giving it some thought yourself and questioning it is foolhardy - in fact, it's a definition of brainwashing.
To get an understanding, I think both of you should read post #37 on this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=1581910#post1581910). Any questions you have I will answer to the best of my ability. Feel free to give me a private message if you want. ;)

3 - Its not integrated into Windows. I've seen patches for IE go south. When they do they break the browser. Since the damn thing is integrated into Windows you can't simply uninstall the app and reinstall it to start over. I've actually tried working with MS on a broken system last year to get it up and running after a combined IE sec patch made IE blow up on certain pages. In the end after an hour on the phone with them they recommended redoing the user's system. With FireFox if I want to start over I simply uninstall the app and reinstall. I don't even need to reboot! So lets see. A 5 minute fix vs. a 2 hour fix. Which would you prefer?

I think that is the clue that says its real. If it said PowerBook then it would have to be a lot bigger.
But think about it, it is a Power Book! Duo. You can read and write!;)
I dont know about the logo though. Does it say i.

Naturally many times more people show up to vote in a presidential election than any other type, and if you mean "record" in the sense of "the most ever," that's not true at all. There have been various times in the history of the US with much higher voter turnout, at times it has been greater than 90%.

ill keep an eye on neooffice thanks for the heads up daveL
To be precise, it's neooffice/J (1.1, currently). NeoOffice is the native OS X port that's been going nowhere fast, for a long time.

Yeah. Apple updated their PowerMacs (1250MHz model) to be ready for shipping.
As for the $5000 model, I think that's ridiculous, considering you can get an extra 512MB from MacMall, I think.

Well, I've block http://*.aol.*/* so nothing with AOL as the mid-point can be accessed. I wonder what their servers are? - EDIT: Nope, I put it on my firewall block. I hate AOL, a bad bad service!

Sorry but there are 8 or 9 sites posting benchmarks of the new Dual/Ghz/DDR and they all show the new DDR machine faster at about %70 of the tasks given it. All this for $1,000 less then the old dual new.
This ArsTechnica (http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?q=Y&a=tpc&s=50009562&f=8300945231&m=4140912135&p=1) thread is one place where you can see that the new machine is actually quicker. Also from my personal experience when you start mulititasking several high load apps at once the new Dual blows the old one in the dust.

Sony (http://www.sonystyle.com/home/item.jsp?itemid=53398&hierc=9683x7018x8862&catid=) is actually announcing three desktop replacement notebooks with built-in DVD-RW drives. The 8.4-pound GRX690 (approximately $2,800) incorporates a 16.1-inch UXGA LCD, 512MB of RAM, and a 60GB hard drive. worst case scenario:
doubling of speeds and still stuck on G5, or next processor past the current G4
best case scenario:
best case scenario - more than triple the speeds and be on G6 or whatever the processor that will be two generations past the G4
two and a half years ago, the ibook was at 366 mhz and now it's at 700 mhz
the imac was a crt machine with a G3 and now there's a flat panel lcd and a G4 processor
things have moved forward, but not as fast as the PC world where speeds went from 600 mhz laptops to 2+ ghz laptops in the same price range and there are brand name PC desktops well past 1 ghz that sell for under $500

Can't remember exactly where but I'm sure that I read that the BBC are in the process of introducing into the TV & Radio resources side of things all things apple, possibly to do with XSAN and the like.
Ever since this (see link below) came about last year, they seem to be more cautious, like other tv companies in the uk about apple products, that whenever they now have them in tv programmes a proportion of the computers have the apple logo covered over.
