it's not way more expensive for what you get, but i would like to see ibooks be $999 us and tibooks $1999 for starters
towers can come down a couple hundred and emac could stand to be $999 and imac at $1099
crt imac can go for $599 and os x can go for $99 dollars
but i still prefer the mac os and mac hardware over windows and pc boxes/laptops

true... let's wait until the product comes out before we start speculating on what the chip market will be like then and how the 970 will compare.
There's really no point arguing about something that we have such limited information about.

IMO, FF has only 1 thing on Safari. Long select bars with scrolling. Having to actually wade through a jillion entries in a scroll bar on Safari sucks. Otherwise, FF is too Netscape like.. an interface I cannot stand.

The process really speeds things up, as you can work on the layout while they're writing. It's not a matter of being able to accept files or not.
I know how workflow works. I was saying that there's this myth about printing problems with ID that i've never experienced.
And i'm done probably 75 jobs in ID this year.
never a problem.

First post on Mac Rumors. Be kind.
I live in Japan but am an American.
Apple uses the same commercials world wide. The iPod commercials work great. But the Mac commercials just don't seem to work here in Japan. No one really understands what the big deal of PowerPC to Intel is in Japan. Heck they barely know what a Mac is! Why doesn't Apple make commercials that work to the local culture and targets? Other companies do. (Dell is selling big time to young single females which is money target in Japan, just because they show the price of the computer and its ability to do music and play DVDS.)
Then we have iTunes. I love iTunes but feel that every bit of video content is for Americans. Here in Japan. iTunes video content doesn't really exist. Japanese TV is very powerful and people watch more TV than anything. We watch on our phones, we watch on the train, we watch where ever we can find one. When is Apple going to negotiate with non-U.S. companies to supply TV content for local markets like Japan? How about Local music Videos? How about non-U.S. content?

might as well ask, other people are probably wondering too... whats DRM?
DRM= digital rights management= copy protection
I'm also quite surprised that Apple DRMs the songs as they are downloaded. All it takes is a hack into the servers housing the music and there goes the neighborhood.

Do you think there will be a new powerbook (.13 g4 maybe?) at jan macworld if there is a speed bump/superdrive/who knows on nov5? Or is it one or the other. I'm planning on buying one early next year so I'd rather not buy one and find out a new generation is released 2 weeks later.

P.S. How does everyone feel about the magnification effect GoogleX uses? I think Apple should add that kind (where just the selected icon is magnified) as an option for the dock, imo
Hmmm...I kinda like the way it's like a wave in OS X. But I guess if you could tweak the width of the wave, we'd both be happy. Then again, I turned magnification off in its entirety.

... I machined parts for a company that made lead frame trim and form machines. Motorola was their biggest customer. Most of the machines went to Malaysia.
What this generally meant then was that the production was generally trouble free and in volume.
The only speculation I would make from this is that capacity would be freed up for ramp up of follow on parts (7470?) and that prices on G4's might drop to a price favorable to inclusion in iBooks.
Other than these observations...I'll hold on to my $.02 for awhile...

According to my cut & paste, it's a
'
which is commonly called an apostrophe. Why is it there? What does it mean? Is it part of some kind of international PowerBook conspiracy? Somebody, call Fox Mulder!:D

Now someone said windows crashes all the time
i have had my pc for about 3 years and not once has it crashed
*it has been reformatted a few times in between then*
but yet still it has not crashed...
I lost count of how many times that I had to reformat our families PeeCees. Such a pain in the butt!
But after switching to Mac, not one problem (**knocks on wood**). :)

Get it. I have my 360 sitting next to my PS3. I watch movies on my PS3 - I play games on the 360.
Holding out for an HD-DVD drive in the 360 is not a good idea. Even if they do get it, the fan would have to be a LOT quieter for it to be practical.
The HD-DVD player is VERY quiet. Just make sure your 360 has no disc in its normal DVD drive when using the HD-DVD player and volume wise its exactly the same as the PS3 playing BluRay player.
