No, but bug fixes and stuff are never a bad thing :)

I would just prefer those bug fixes be in 1.1 instead :p

Well yes, usually I delegate the number crunching to computers, and don't sit at home spinning a little crank to crunch the WU by hand. And do you know that not a single person responded to my call for justice?! They missed the chance to be a part of my glorious SETIvolution!

    Call for justice...?

More like a call for your glorious exploitation....

I got off the WoW juice 5 months ago, after playing roughly 2 years and have been (mostly) clean, ever since. Sorry.

I have heard of this but the last time I experienced it was the first version of OS9. There are some current similar issues with G4 Upgrade cards.

Check out the report on Think Secret about an unnamed technology company accumulating Apple stock through brokers. As a former IBM employee, I can tell you this is exactly the way Big Blue behaves when it wants to buy a company.

It makes perfect sense -- IBM will be making the Apple processors, it gets a desktop product to compliment it's Power-4 servers. It kills off its money losing PC business, but gets to remain a player in the field while taking on Microsoft head to head.

IBM gives Apple 100% product development autonomy and something it's never had before -- a sales channel into the Fortune 500. OS X computers in a corporate office is a tough sell, but link them up to IBM mainframes and UNIX servers and suddenly you have a compelling, cost effective, secure alternative to Wintel anarchy.

You load half of the data in the high 32-bits and the other half in the lower 32-bits. Take any bit of data of any size and you can chomp through it twice as fast. You have doubled your throughput without increasing your mhz or ghz speed.

This is not even close to correct. It does not work for simple adds or subtracts let alone anything as complicated as a multiple, divide or shift. The same is true of 32-bit CPUs--you don't treat the 32-bits as four separate 8-bit or two separate 16-bit numbers for calculations.

A quick paper calculation of multiplying two sets of two 32-bit numbers will demonstrate this will not work. If you want to spend even more time, try all of the basic ALU operations: add, subtract, multiply, divide, shift left and shift right. You will find that none of them work correctly except in very special cases.

Anyone remember the one Mac that actually had an Intel CPU - it was one of those educational all in ones that came out before the iMac - quite ugly.

I don't think its smart for Apple to go the x86 route right now. They're gaining market share on what they have, why confuse the consumer with what would be perceived as an overly expensive machine that does the same thing (but not really) as the other PC makers.

Stick with Moto and IBM - and just hope a faster processor comes out soon.....

I haven't seen any real difference between the tabbed browsing in FF and Safari. What feature are you talking about?

Safari has a better keyboard combination to switch through tabs that is easier to remember than the one in FF.

So I got a call from the investigator in charge of my case earlier tonight. They had done a lot of background work on the house I had suspected. A lot of pawn shops in the area had the house down for a bunch of random video games, DVDs and jewlrey. This gave the cops enough info combined with my info to get a warrant.

They went to the house and a lady answered the door. She was more than willing to let the police in to search the place. After searching, they came up with nothing. Not even a single game, controller, anything. The house is a rental house. The guy with the pawn record had moved out two months ago. His lease was up December 31st and this new lady had moved in during January.

This basically leaves the police back at square one. There are no leads, no other suspect houses in the neighborhood. Except for Microsoft.

Basically, all Microsoft has to do is give them the IP address that my XBox is using and the police have the ability to do the rest. They can contact the ISP and track down where they are connecting to the internet.

Microsoft, however, will not do this. I have called them numerous times as have the police. Microsoft claims they have no way to track an IP address when you sign on to XBox Live. As any of you know, this is total BS. It is so simple to track an IP address, especially when you sign on to any service requiring a password and screen name.

My question now turns to this: how do I get Microsoft to give up this information?? The cops are not able to get any info, Microsoft is giving me a run-around. I'm open to any ideas, if anyone knows a phone number for someone higher up the food chain at Microsoft, that would be great. I'm just really pissed off that someone is still using my 360 and Microsoft won't do anything to help.

Process 2 on my G4 is having the same issue

It is getting a 404 error on that process, and it won't turn in my previous work unit. All IP and internet connectivity is doing well. I will see if Process 1 runs into the same problem when it is completed.

Well you can't really ban anyone forever...

The most you can do is block the IP(s) that person uses and/or deactivate that person's account.

No matter...we need to build back up an old school army!

There is also the fact the people were looking at the new PM motherboards and saying...hmmm...this could be used for something else...

Also, if IBM is going to mass ship the the chips in 2Q then Apple already has the engineering samples...

That jornalist is an idiot. See the Apple logo on the back of all those 'phones'? That's not Apple's logo! That's Applele's logo, and MANY renderings have come out of that website for YEARS, all bearing that logo. It's just his expression of what he think would look cool on the Apple product line. This is in no way real!

    Good day!

or am i missing something? my info's based on what i see on that page.

But it's probably going to be an 800 MHz G3, same FSB,

i agree w/ the 800 in the next revision. but w/ that, they could do a 133 bus and have it make sense. that would cinch it for me.

And before anyone says they're too slow, have you actually used one?

Much nicer than my Mom's old 400 MHz G3 PB.

it's a good point. i borrowed a 700 MHz one w/ 10.1.5 and was quite happy. i just loaded 10.2 on my 400 MHz G3 PB, 192 meg RAM, and it has a new life.

EXCEPT the pointer sometimes freezes when coming out of sleep and i have to unplug it to reboot. anyone else see such behavior? (okay, i'm off-topic here)

Yeah, I'm sure Steve has a white list. However, all of Steve's other mail is read by members of his office staff and farmed out accordingly.

But, I've emailed him before about my .Mac account not working (my account was corrupted on Apple's .Mac servers) and within hours I had .Mac engineers emailing me stating that they were made aware of my problem, and it would be fixed within three business days. Sure enough, it was (within a matter of hours). :D The email said something like "on behalf of Steve Jobs."

Microsoft has not beat Apple as far as a 64bit consumer OS goes. Name one consumer chip that is 64bit. Thank you. Carry on.

Also, I think NT is limited to 4 processors unless they have updated that recently. Clustering is not the same as a multi-processor machine. Unix scales better than NT, just deal with it. Apple could easily make a rack server that had 16 processors, with a kick arse OpenGL card and teach SGI a lesson. They don't have the market for that though...yet!
