When do you all think the next full revision of the iBook will be? What kind of specs do you think they might have?
edit- By full I mean a revision of all the models not just one of them.

I've actually been using a copy of Office 2007 for the past few months now, and I actually like it.
There are a lot of improvements over the previous version. Once you get used to the layout you'll actually realize that there is much less clicking involved to do many tasks, and the navigation is much simpler.
I also like the way they were able to make an interface where you can still have all the toolbars you'd want, but they would take up much less space. For example in Word on my 22" monitor, with all the toolbars I needed showing, I wasn't able to see the whole document on the screen. Now on the same zoom with the same toolbars I can.
Another useful feature that I've used a lot is the option to save as a PDF. I'm not sure why it took them so long to implement this feature.
So basically there are some new features that are nice, but the best improvement to me is the speed. The whole office suite just feels a lot snappier.

He didn't say it was valid for Intel v. AMD. He simply stated architecture. AMD has its own architecture, which is a RISC chip with CISC emulator as far as I'm concerned. He even compared two AMD chips. Here, the MHz/GHz is a very valid benchmark.
By the way, the 2.8GHz P4 kills AMD Athlon XP 2600+ for normal operations, but AMD Athlon XP 2600+ kills P4 when it comes to rendering with Maya, etc. Different things are superior in either.

Firefox is great for windows users, much better than IE, but on the mac, i prefer Safari, i'm just more used to the interface and like it much better. Besides, i can't notice THAT big of a difference in speed between the two.

You seriously have to restart your Windows machine to change permissions? Yikes! Learn something new every day, I guess.

It's been down at least 90 minutes. I have a work experience Design Student jumping up and down to find out what's happening. She's desperately hoping for an updated, cheaper, pink (?) Powerbook  Whatever!

That sure is one hell of a RANT. I have an iBook and several Windows boxen. No way is what you say above true on my hardware or any of the ones I admin. Three to four times slower, I highly doubt that it is even slower than a P3 750.

Right away, I thought of that one Simpsons episode where Bill Gates says "Buy him out boys" to Homer when he was running a business called "HyperGlobalMegasomethingrather..'.
Ehh... simpsons...
NOW FAMILY GUY!
*flying in jet packs over land*
Michael Eisner: "They look like ants down there."
Bill Gates:"They are ants Michael! They are ants...."

I don't think it's too much of a living wage in other parts of the country.
For a student, and certainly for a student living at home, it is still fairly good pay though....
(am I right on all this  :o )
8 opens the posibility to not have to work 40 hours a week, and still be able to move out of the parents home while taking classes.
So 8 is awesome! You still have to work alot if your school does'nt offer dorms, but its almost $3 more an hour than minumum wage!

Thanks for the replies guys.
I have Call of Duty 2 which really is great fun on Multiplayer, but I'm looking for something new.
I purchased Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II but am not enjoying it very much, so I will return it tomorrow and swap for something else. Supreme Commander looks so cool but I am worried about how it will perform... it says it needs a 256 meg Vid Card recommended and I like my games to look good... Is Medieval II any good?
oh, and I quite enjoy strategy games. Civilization IV is highly recommended too... and I love Civ III.
Thanks again,
Chris
