cool interface,
someone needs to work on a guide for installation, at least a general one and then we would see this explode

Apple's "fix" for this is fairly simple. Send the files in an ecrypted form. In order to maximize caching, use a common key that all iTunes clients have built-in, sort of like DVDs and CES. The client can then decrypt with the common key and re-encrypt with the DRM key.Don't iTMS and iTunes already do this?

That's all fine and well, but I just want a version that doesn't require X11 and can print.
It can't print?! I knew it was limited, but really...an office suite that can't print isn't much use, now is it?

Ok before any more people really seriously think that the first definition was serious, here's the real explanation.
The halo effect is the extension of an overall impression of a particular product or trait of a person to influence the total judgement of the product line/company or person.

I read about some new F@H developments this morning on slashdot.
PS3 (http://folding.stanford.edu/news.html)
"...we will likely be able to attain performance on the 100 gigaflop scale per computer. With about 10,000 such machines, we would be able to achieve performance on the petaflop scale." screenshot (http://folding.stanford.edu/abeta-PS3.jpg) video (http://folding.stanford.edu/abeta_2spu_test02.avi)
ATI GPU (http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-ATI.html)
"We are beta testing the ATI GPU client software internally at the moment and will likely announce an open beta in four to five weeks (end of September)."
"Which GPUs will be supported? We have not made any final decisions on this issue. However, our software will likely require the very latest GPUs from ATI (especially now that the newest ATI GPUs support 32 bit floating point operations). Previous work of ours used NVIDIA GPUs as well, but we have now concentrated on ATI GPU's as they allow for significant performance increases for FAH over NVIDIA's GPU's (at least at the current generation). Our GPU cluster has 25 1900XT's and 25 1900 XTX's. We find a considerable performance increase of 1900XT's even over 1800XT's, due to the architectural differences between the R580 and R520 GPU's. Our code will run on R520's, but considerably more slowly than R580. We're very much looking forward to trying out R600's."
Intel on Mac (http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=14182&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75)
"Coming soon.... 2-3 weeks...
(typed from the intel mac devel box)
p.s. the v6 client won't be as elaborate as planned, but it will be universal. v7 will have all the goodies."

Man, iSight conversations would be scary! So basically, they can watch the video any time they want -- and you know like, 50% of the people who own webcams use them for nudity.
this is off-topic, but... i use my isight to talk to clients and sometimes, i would really want the chance to protocol the meetings. is there a way to save the videos for review and protocol?

I can definitely say that Safari has gone the way of IE for Mac. Safari is never updated, it's WebKit is so outdated now that sites won't work with it, it's slow, it doesn't respond to user interaction (i.e. beachball).
By any chance do you have PithHelmet installed on Safari? I found that's the most massive CPU hog ever. If so, it may explain the issues you're having with Safari.
Which sites are you using with Safari which used to work but don't now? I've not seen this issue.
What you're saying though as regards stagnation is true. Apple's lack of updates for Safari, restricting it to the new OS only is absolutely pathetic. I would call it Microsoft tactics, but Microsoft have never done anything like this with a browser - IE 6 is available for versions of Windows other than the latest XP.

There are a couple members on there ranked as newbies - so they're not really all that active if they've been around for that long and have so few posts. But I guess it would indicate that they're at least visiting the site regularly.

...glad to see some new super-folders stepping up like 4jna and ppl continuing folding who dont have many resources
just trying to catch you and lord... overtake in 2014 here i come!
yeah, the people folding on the only thing they have is way more cool than me hitting up family/clients for spare cycles. keep up the good work all, and tell your friends and family to come join in the fun. :)
Heee, why does everyone needs to make these comments about me?!?!Because you've inspired so many of us to join. If not for you and your signature the team would have at least 828,032 fewer points, because I never would have signed up.
You should look at comments like mine as a badge of honor! We tease the ones we love…
i second this. folding is how i found MR, and reading the orginal catch me thread between dreadnought and atzyman is what got me going down the road to addiction...

If nothing changed, the company would've died. Radical change was needed.
yeah I said that. Radical was it only hope. It also shows how desprate apple was at that time.
