I would tend to agree with you jef. The only people I really know are Alphatech, King Cobra, and asurace/Durandal7. Now with large amounts of users hitting the much sought after '6502' status, I no longer feel the same sense of community that I did when I started posting (June/July of 2002).
Er, what's '6502' status?
Sorry to ask, but i guess i've only been here for a couple weeks.

15" square screen? why would they make a worse screen. they would be eaten alive by the press. the pismo screens were some of the worst laptop screens I have ever seen.
no chance.
He said 15 inch *minimum*. Which means there might be even bigger. But really... why would anyone want a laptop with 17 inch LCD. Gee, I think that'd be too big. I think it'd be better for Apple to go 15 inch instead of 15.4 and do UXGA. Higher resolution that way.
Pismo screens were a hell lot better than many laptops I knew these days.

Yes - the G5 version is faster. I think Mac OS Tiger supports fat binaries, so hopefully Apple will be able to provide G5-optimized versions of Safari and their other apps. I can't see them doing it any other way other than with fat binaries, as having to separate download version would just be too confusing for people and too much hassle to administer.

Eh, I was at the airport on my way to Mexico and saw that one of their computers that displays the flight times had the program crash. It amused me so I snapped a picture:

Anyone else got any funny pictures of Windows? :O
EDIT: It was taken in Vancouver, hence why it's French at the top. I don't speak French so don't get the wrong idea. ;)

I am guessing that since there is no update yet, there will be none today :-(
Very dissappointed:(
I guess I will have to look at the current "old" displays, as I need to get one.

Yep, it is the best and most efficient one. FAH stores its documents in the same folder where it installed its app in. So, for the script of mc68k this is in the folder F@H of your own home directory. You can check the progress of the of a WU by typing "work" in the terminal, and "pause" to pause the folding (if you want to do a heavy game or something), and "resume" if it needs to go back to folding after you paused it. These are the only commands you really need for letting it fold. Check out the read me that came with installer script. You can also open the file "FAHlog.txt" in the in the F@H folder if you want to know the progress of the WU.

But what's this stuff about the "Apple Processor Interconnect Bus"? Is that Apple's rebranding of Hypertransport or RapidI/O?

IMPORTANT The widget doesn't work at the moment, sorry. I'll try to fix it, one day ;) /IMPORTANT
Hello folders and interested people.
I was thinking about a widget to display your folding efforts, a few days after my first thought i stumbled on this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=120057) thread. Apparently stubeeef had been thinking about this before i did.
Anyhow, here's (http://mr.yuru.be/widget/folding/FoldingTracker.wdgt.zip) the widget (current version 0.5b).
Please read this post through before reporting bugs :o.
The widget has been reported to work in Amnesty (http://www.mesadynamics.com/amnesty.htm), a dashboard for 10.3.9 users (thx stubeeef for testing this)
the front:

the bigger front:

the back:
http://mr.yuru.be/widget/folding/back.png
a small FAQ (lol frequently)
Set up:
If your Mac didn't do it for you, put FoldingTracker.wdgt in /Library/Widgets
On the backside of the widget fill in your 'numeral user id' I should find a better name for this one.
How do I find this 'numeral user id'?
You can find it very easily by clicking on the extremeoverclocking.com logo. On the right side of the page fill in your folding username. If you found your username, klick it. A page containing your folding efforts will load.

The average Output/month of CustomPC is about 1,000,000 points higher then ours. Don't think we can stop them from overtaking.
We will have to get back at them in a month or so ;)

Ok, what planet are you pretending to be on this week? There's no way Apple would put a faster, more powerful chip in the consumer and low end machines first. It would make no sense what so ever. Regardless of the fact that the new PowerMacs are just rolling out.
The new chips will go in the bigger, more expensive machines first.

I had a pimped out 7600 with upgraded CPU card (180Mhz I think), ATI Nexus, 512mb RAM and OSX and a big 6gb SCSI drive. I should have kept that thing.
OSX though the Nexus was like looking at fine crystal.
I then got an iMac DV and sold both. Went back to PCs for a while. But I came to my senses.

took them long, what, 4 days ? haha
i cant wait to see this project actually happen. even if it were to come out in beta, id have to run out and get a mini
on the other hand thow, there have been alot of articles on how the mini will be used as a media center by many...
you would think, apple released this not only to enter into the low end market, but to see how a apple media center would do.
i wouldnt doubt apple is working on a MMC of thier own.

Um, Don't know what chart you were looking at, but with both processors being used, the 1.25 kicked the "snot" out of the PC's.
Ohhh, you mean that one test where the Mac beat an old dual Athlon by, look, 2 points? 38/40 hardly matters, especially seeing as how Athlon MP's are available at 1.8ghz rather than the 1.6ghz tested. Xeons are available at up to 2.8ghz if you want a real top of the line SMP PC. How do you suppose the dual 1.25 would do against that sort of competition?

Yes, I do, because that's what all of my PC-using friends have. So I have no choice.
Zen.
You can still use your MSN Account with Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/), or Fire for that matter, and it offers a lot more features and the ability to customise.

Actually I'm not delighted. I never really cared about online anything. 99.9% of the gaming I do is single player. I just kinda had a desire to play VT online. :P
I may get a 360 for Trusty Bell, so I'd like to know I'd be safe if I chose to use xbl. I probably won't, though.
I don't know how many people have been hit with their identities being stolen, and I don't care enough to read the article, but I have Live and it's definitely worth the money. I would never have considered myself an online gamer, but Live makes it a real easy transition. Between all the free content MS gives out, and the ability to play with or against friends on just about every game available to the 360.. yea, it's good stuff
