Both browsers have their advantages. Firefox seems to be more compatible in general; that doesn't mean there aren't any sites that look fine in Safari but not in Firefox (ATI's page (http://www.ati.com/), of all things, was one of them - I don't know if it still is).
I like Safari's bookmarks system. Most browsers (including MSIE) have a two-tier bookmark system. Frequently used bookmarks go in the bookmarks bar; less often used bookmarks are in the bookmarks menu. Safari's is three-tier: bookmarks bar, bookmarks menu, bookmark collections screen (for stuff you don't use often enough to put in the bookmarks menu, but that you still want to have around). Another advantage to Safari (at least for .Mac members) is the bookmark synchronization with .Mac - no other browser on any platform that I know of does this.

Golf baby. Put a sensor on my Nike clubs, or Pings, etc, and have the nano record my swing, the angle, and help me improve my golf game. Now that is a good way to help the rest of us lazy people out who only run when the golf cart is rolling down the hill.

Anyway, I've never been one to agree with the Windows people that argue the security-by-obscurity for why Mac OS X is not hacked to bits like Windows, but it would seem that this adds aome serious fire to their arguement. Here in music where Apple is the most popular and widely used, they are getting hacked (semi-successfully) more often than their WMA counterpart.

In many ways that's why I like currently working at a store that sells a lot of Apple hardware, but has no NDA. Since we rarely receive any tip offs from Apple regarding new products, it's not needed. I also feel all official Apple stores in the UK are in pretty much the same position anyway, so I'm not losing out.

Ive been folding mine for over a week and its a 65%. Just give it time, it should be worth alot of points. I don't know much about tinker and gromas, so maybe another folder can explain. But i do know that a Tinker takes quite a while to fold in a G5.All details of individual projects, their aims, and points values are available here (http://vspx27.stanford.edu/psummary.html).

When you reach a certain point in the trail, it asks you to insert side 2 of the diskette. This means to boot ortrai_2.bin. But when you do this, the app that loads on ortrail_2.bin asks you to insert side 1. Does anyone know what to do?

I saw the XRaid announcement. I am just saying its release appears immenent (sp?). About the power usages, if it is only forty more watts, I could see that. The two extra HDs take about twenty, and the new optical and bus could use the other twenty. But, according to Apples website:

I have a Pentium 4 at work that does nothing. I will start folding with it. I've never done this, how do I start? I obviously want to be on the MacRumors team.
for PCs, i like running it as a service. it'll run regardless of who's logged on. a good implementation can be found under "Folding@Home Windows Service Installer" on this page (http://teammacosx.homeunix.com/software.html). since it's a work PC, to abide by the EULA, you must have permission to use the machine for folding.
the installer will give you a chance to enter your userid and team # (3446).

1. imac dv 400mhz running at 100% CPU 24/7
2. mbp cd 2.16ghz running at 40% CPU (used to be 80% but got too hot)
3. imac 2.8ghz running at 100% CPU (when dad doesnt stop it lol)
if my pc had a network card it would be doing it aswell lol
but yea, im getting ~1200 average. not too shabby i say lol

Again, the cell phone industry has several entrenched manufacturers who make great products. To be successful in this market, the cell phone manufacturer requires carriers which will bundle the manufacturer's phone with their new services. Apple currently has a good relationship with Cingular Wireless. However, I think that Apple can hardly make a dent in the armor of Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, etc.
As for the home media center thing, Apple already has a family of wireless routers. They are called Airport. Wired routers come from various other manufacturers. I use a Linksys. Before that, I used a Siemens. An Apple wired router might appeal to the fanboy market, but will do little to contribute to the bottomline. This whole home media center thing seems to appeal more to teenage boys who want a setup in their bedrooms than to adults who want to setup their living rooms and media rooms. What do you want to do that you can't do now?
