Once you stop counting, the posts add up faster. Remember the old saying "A watched pot never boils?" The same thing applies. If you have something to say on a topic, chime in and contribute. If you don't, don't. That way your post count represents your time, effort, participation, and contributions, not just how many times you can click a Submit button.

worst case scenario:
doubling of speeds and still stuck on G5, or next processor past the current G4
best case scenario:
best case scenario - more than triple the speeds and be on G6 or whatever the processor that will be two generations past the G4
two and a half years ago, the ibook was at 366 mhz and now it's at 700 mhz
the imac was a crt machine with a G3 and now there's a flat panel lcd and a G4 processor
things have moved forward, but not as fast as the PC world where speeds went from 600 mhz laptops to 2+ ghz laptops in the same price range and there are brand name PC desktops well past 1 ghz that sell for under $500

If you buy any new mac direct from apple, it comes with 3 Jaguar upgrade cd's. The 2 installers plus the dev tools. They are in the box, although not on the computer.
The windtunnel's already have jaguar loaded.

LOL, if you really feel that bad about it my PayPal address is rtdgoldfish@gmail.com. I won't say no. :DYou'd probably only say no if some of the people expected to "borrow" your body for that $5 a pop. ;)

Likely somebody that knew you had it and wanted it, hence the targeted break in. :(
And since it seems like a neighbor took it, it shows that they are an idiot.
Time to break out the video camera for evidence.
Edit: if a kid took it, sue the parents if they do not make good on damages and return the merchandise. Should only need that video tape for a small claims case.

What? Is there a different rule for Canada? it was always free until June, now that's been expanded to July.

Because iMacs are cheaper consumer level computers and PowerMacs are expensive professional workstations. And like I said, "More Innovation = Lower Prices." :)

>(beez7777) hmm, its been a while now, what happened to ptrauber?
He signed a letter to Apple about a non-disclosure agreement. You won't seem him posting here legally, unless it's in the Community discussion and NOT about Apple.
>(scem0) It couldnt be named an eBook, because e stands for education, and if all students in Maine have iBooks, then they will feel bad :D.
At least I won't have to worry for another year. :p

I use an iMac G3 333 with OS X 10.2 at home for email and casual web browsing.
At work I use a Pentium 4 3GHz running Windows XP.
I bought myself an iBook G3 700 running OS X 10.3 for watching downloaded TV episodes and to do net stuff in cafes, but it's been stuck at work for the last month as a test platform since our product ICEpdf 2.0 (http://www.icesoft.com/products/icepdf.html) is now supported on the Mac.

You're all far too willing to accept the RIAA's iron grip over downloading music. Apple's DRM is disgusting - but you want to say "shut it down! or our prices will go up! or they'll make the DRM worse!" Well, you've got to do better than that - because they owe it to us to sell a better product. I want to own my music - I know the paradigm is new, I know it's a virtual product any way you slice it, but DVD Jon is doing the right thing, and we need to send a message. They owe it to us? The only people Apple owes anything to is their shareholders.

I don't like the page. The icons don't make any sense. They need labels.
If you use it regularly, I bet the icons will start to make sense. Sort of like how I don't even need the labels for my dock now, I just know what to click on.
P.S. How does everyone feel about the magnification effect GoogleX uses? I think Apple should add that kind (where just the selected icon is magnified) as an option for the dock, imo

Well, that's the PC version. And even if it is 8x, it will still work in a 4x. Not quite as good, but it will still be much faster than an older card. I doubt theres much of a difference anyway...

eyelike art is still around, ambitiouslemon is on sabatical, kela posted last in April, spikey might be around under a different name, he hasn't been seen in quite some time, and blakespot is off doing his own thing, although I think he still helps arn with the site.
I don't fall under the 'old skool' banner, but I've been around longer than most these days. But maybe you should try a reunion thread, only for anyone who's of a certain age.
