It makes you wonder whether the so-called 'editors' actually edit
I thought that I had actually put the link in with 'and' rather than 'ang', oh well. Too many other good stuff on the net to read to worry about a little 'ang'. Maybe I had the feeling of angst and my subconscious made me type it :)

he has called it the "new power PC chip" before I can only assume that it's force of habit, he is an old school IBM guy, so...... But i see what you mean... But so far it has been a high-level media name, I would assume that since the actual branding of the chip has been recent, that their are still plenty of name that float around in reference to a new product.
The same thing happens when we get sony ericsson phones that haven't been released yet.... they are always called something else until they are publicly announced and branded... hope that makes sense:)

i have a 15" flat and 19" crt and i'm doing fine. 15" flat is my main monitor with the other being my canvas for stuff....

I keep Firefox in my home directory, so I can use it in the computer labs without installing anything locally (and therefore breaking policy). I know that I'm not the only person that does this.

There have been reports of GPU's burning up from the heat while on standby. I had to move the wii as it was in the direct downwind of the PS3, which didnt help any. It's warm to the touch even when on standby.

Since when is there a GPU in a Wii :P just kidding

I really like the feature that keeps the games/movies from auto loading. It got pretty annoying every time I started up the system and I didn't want to use what was already in the drive.
However, I was saddened to see that the update did not include the much anticipated DVD "up-scaler". Perhaps this will be in future additions of the Fimware?
Mine never auto loaded.. if you turn off Auto-login it won't

I get what you mean, but I don't think it's the best analogy. ;)
First Jobs has to massacre thousands of people??
Yeah, see the difference? :p
But I do get it's basis... not a bad thought, in the regard you mentioned. :)

the ATI 9700 if made for a mac will have an ADC and a DVI port, they make DVI and VGA for silly PCs.
There's no way that apple would make you pay $150 to connect their displays, if ATI would do that then everyone would go out and pick up whatever Nvidia's offering

The one thing they did get right was the front ports... I wonder if Apple will ever get it together and give us at least one front firewire and usb port.

I have a question
I plan on applying for a job at the apple store near me. I am in school right now and going home for the summer this year. Should i go down to the apple store before i leave school (i.e. in the next two weeks) and let them know i am interested or do i wait until about 2 weeks before college starts up again and then go inquire about a job?
If i went down now that would be about 3 months before i could actually work.
Any insight is great.
I would go down and tell them your story. From what I've found, the more you contact them (employers in general) and show that you are serious, the more they start to trust and respect you. Be persistent and always contact them at least once a month to keep them informed of your situation, so that they know your still interested. Good luck. :)

well either way Safria is still so far under the rader that it not even look at for browser testing or capiblity. Which being under 2% it not going to be consider and until it leaves the "other catigotor" it going to sit like that.
IE, Moz, netscape, Oprea hell even the AOL browser is more widely used that safari
I think Safari is sitting at best at 50% prouble less for mac use (the poll is very baise poll by the nature of the site by it self and is load with the people who think if it not apple it sucks)

MacCoaster:
Ok, here we go. You have a program.c so compile it into compiler.o like this:
gcc -c program.c
You may place flags such as -O before -c, or maybe even after it. But certainly before it. Anyway, you have some asm_func.asm, so compile it into asm_func.o like this:
nasm -f elf asm_func.asm
Now, you can link these two .o files like this:
gcc *o -o exe
Which makes an executable named exe (which of course you can change to be whatever you want).
Anyway, do note that the ASM funcs do the integer "benchmark" and not the float one. Also, I think because I overwrite ebx when I am not supposed to, the asm routines tend to cause program segaults after they exit. :) But they still provide a valid result. I could fix that, but whatever.
