No, Vice City is better because of what they didn't include. Nowhere outside of America does adding more make something better (which is funny as the console GTA's were developed in Scotland). Bigger is not related to better. The whole Virtual Pet aspect of SA really put me off, get health by eating food, but not too much! Distracted from the main game itself. Vice City didn't have needless things like that, or a world map that was simply too big.
Agreed Vice City did rock way better than San Andreas.

Yeah I think the iPod would have to be upgraded to a color screen for this to really be worth it, but for the main things an iPod is for a color screen isnt really necessity so I doubt it would happen.

So what if Apple stops this -- will this be the pirates' reaction?
Curses! Foiled again! I had been planning to use ITMS to base my international pirating operation. What oh what will I do? Buying a CD and copying that couldn't possibly work, so I'll have to think of something else. Damn you, Apple!

They already are using it for DRM, to keep circulation of OS X mostly confined to Macintels.Link?

Anyone remember the one Mac that actually had an Intel CPU - it was one of those educational all in ones that came out before the iMac - quite ugly.
I don't think its smart for Apple to go the x86 route right now. They're gaining market share on what they have, why confuse the consumer with what would be perceived as an overly expensive machine that does the same thing (but not really) as the other PC makers.
Stick with Moto and IBM - and just hope a faster processor comes out soon.....

4/2002 667/ 800 Mhz - a 117/133 Mhz in 6 months
10/2001 550/667 Mhz - a 150/167 Mhz in 9 months
1/2001 400/500 Mhz
Not to mention 4/2002 model made the Level 3 cache more.
That is no 200 Mhz increase on a model OVER a year old. Let's get our facts straight!
Goodness...Apple's latest upgrade would be the biggest in so short a period of time.
i am so sorry. i didnt mean to get my facts messed up i hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
i was more referring to the notebook itself being over a year old in its current look.
but whatever.

It's SanDisk. For their Sansa e200 player.
rings a bell, but i'm not even sure who they are
this is the first time i've seen a company directly attack the iPod in marketing!

I agree, it sounds like they are merely moving production to another facility. The Apollo is a big hit for Motorola the last I had heard, so I'd sincerely doubt that they've cut it.

How is one going to transfer data between HDDs? Say you have the 20gb model and you buy a 120gb one. How do you transfer your demos, saves, patches, Live Arcade games over?

Although I have not read all of the messages in this thread, the last few indicate that you guys have not considered this. Motorola has already developed the G5 processor. It just is not economical to work hard on a G5 when it will solely be used for Apple. The majority of their processor sales are G4s used in cell phones and other mobile products. Until clients want more secure encryption of things, the G5 has little use. That G5's only advantage other than a faster processor is that it can process much larger numbers (twice that of standard 32bit processors). That can make for a much more secure encryption code. Motorola sees not the need for this, so we will not see the G5 focused on until then. IBM is our best bet.

that Mac guy is an actor...
His name is Justin Long (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Long). He was recently in the movie "Waiting..." with Ryan Reynolds. yoda13 is right, the tv show is called Ed. His claim to fame was starring in Dodgeball with Vaughn and Stiller. For me, he represents youth...its what most college student looks like these days.
The pc guy is John Hodgman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hodgman). He looks like Bill Gates, the posture, the glasses, the awful haircut, and the inability to make snappy comebacks. :D

Now that Apple has the double your RAM for $40 deal, do you revise your predictions on an update this or next month? I hope not.... but I'm so indecisive about when to buy.

I have a question
I plan on applying for a job at the apple store near me. I am in school right now and going home for the summer this year. Should i go down to the apple store before i leave school (i.e. in the next two weeks) and let them know i am interested or do i wait until about 2 weeks before college starts up again and then go inquire about a job?
If i went down now that would be about 3 months before i could actually work.
Any insight is great.

3. A Google web browser - It will have dierct access to all of google's services.Perfectly possible, and could be fantastic. There was an article last year about how Google are putting a hell of a lot of effort in to more human translations. Meaning making translations not simple word for word translations as they are now, but actually intelligent enough to be able to re-phrase things when a simple word for word translation isn't enough. It sounded incredible. It was talked about how the technology could be embedded so that you didn't even know the translation was going on. You would Google for information, be taken to a Chinese coded website and never even know it. It could also be embedded in to Google Talk etc, you could talk to people from all over the globe in your native language, and them in theirs, but as far as you're concerned they're talking to you in your language. HUGE potential.
4. A Google Media Player - It will play most formats as well as Videos from Google's Video Download Service. (it will be intergrated with the web Brower)
http://video.google.com/playerdownload.html ;)

Hi AtomBoy......great english for being from Japan, or are you an ex-pat?
Anyway, I agree, the OS X part of a Mac is worth being a little behind on Mhz/DDR/etc...but I still want Apple to be "on par" atleast with Wintel, since I am spending close to double for their machines as if I had bought an unglybox.
