I think the problem is the reviews, IGN reviews are generally trash.
I think you can say this about all mainstream review sites/magazines. ;)
Gamespot's are usually ok.
IGN is trash, EGM/1up is trash.
Game Informer...what I've seen so far (just started getting their magazine) seems ok.

Such self-righteous indignation! (In the first post.)
Why should Apple be punished? They aren't employing the workers or denying them their rights. It's Apple's supplier that is doing so: if anyone deserves to get punished, it's the supplier.
Did Apple know that the workers were being exploited? Perhaps it thought that they were being treated fairly and that no checks were necessary. If that's the case, then the worst thing they are guilty of is being naive.

I found a pretty decent fix for TiPB airport reception.
Try this. (http://www.macnet2.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1095)
Read the post about a quarter of the way down by WebDiva.
I was next instructed to eject the battery and look at the right side wall of the battery compartment where I was supposed to find an approximately 5 cm long plastic strip. (My particular powerbook doesn't have this visible -- instead, there is a plate with the serial number, etc...) Still, he told me to firmly press the side wall of the powerbook against the frame, just slowly and firmly pressing along its length several times for about 10 seconds. Next, he told me to replace the battery and start her back up.
Seems like pertinent information for anyone that has a TiPB w/Airport.
Let me know if this works for anyone (not trying to hijack).

My favourite web browser is Safari. Firefox is good on Windows and Linux, but on Mac OS X, its very buggy and doesn't have a spell checker.
The only problem I have with Safari, is that I get the Beach Ball popping up a few times.
There are a few extensions around for Safari, like coloured HTML source and the use of different search engines for the search field (AcidSearch (http://www.pozytron.com/acidsearch)). Safari's Debug menu also makes it much better to use.

And, I heard that the Radeon 9700 probably wont have an ADC port, or atleast they are not planning for it to have ADC. THe ATI guy at the macgamer forums said you should email ATI if you the card to have ADC.

You may want to read the following article to understand why Microsoft continues to dominate the market.

I do find the bit at the end where he talks about smart phones, dinosaurs, and comets interesting when you consider where
www.iphone.org and www.mammals.org takes you. ;)

In the last 4 pages of this forum topic, I think I remember something about you saying you were able to see that persons IP address while they were logging on to xbox live through some program.
well, i don't own an xbox 360 or any console at that.. the last console I've owned is the Nintendo NES  .. I don't know exactly how that program works, but if your able to get an IP address, you can go to http://www.urgentclick.com/address_trace.php
and find out what type of internet they are connecting through, and what company is providing them with internet service. ie: dsl, cable, satellite.
for example.
68.190.xxx.xxx traced to: 68-190-xxx-xxx.dhcp.gldl.ca.charter.com
thats my IP address, it's dhcp (Cable) in glendale, CA. @ Charter communications
at the time the xbox were to connect to XBox Live.. if you get the IP address and run this search, the police would be able to call the internet provider, provide them with the IP in question and a warrant (or whatever is needed), they would be able to give you the perpetrators address.
then just bust down that guys door and the xbox is yours again.
I used to work for comcast communications as a customer service rep, and whenever the police would call in with something regarding theft or IP trace, etc., the process was simple. Literally plug in the IP address into the database and after a simple search, the customers profile would pop up.
if this is done fast enough, you can most likely catch them in the act..
dont know if this has helped or not, or you've probably already tried this, but just thought i'd share my 2cents.

Office 12 will be a simultaneous release for both PC and Mac. It's supposed to be the first release achieving feature parity between the Mac and Windows versions.
Do you have a linky for that?

The youtube video is IN THIS THREAD, there is exactly what you are looking for in that google link that i provided, need someone to come to your house and input it for you?
Sounds like you have a laziness issue.

Sorry, didn't see that YouTube link.:o Also didn't get to post my preemptive edit - up now - saying that, yes, I did go to that Google link (even though you should be linking to specific posts), and no, there's nothing at all conclusive there - far from it.
Given your history of making unsubstantiated claims with no proof (Nintendo and the UN are conspiring to make artificial Wii shortages!!), it's perfectly reasonable to ask that you pick out some reputable articles & link to them - not send a Google link and expect us to read whatever crap it dredges up. If I was going to descend to a personal level, I'd say you're the one with the laziness issue - but I'm not, so I won't. :)

If anyone's curious about my link, it actually does directly come from Apple's site. Apple, like many companies, contracts out the Investor Relations portion of their website to allow pros to handle all of the required information releases, etc. That's why the address is different...it comes from another site, but displays in a frame within Apple's own site as you navigate through it, integrating seamlessly so that you'd never know it's anything different unless you opened the frame directly (which I did in order to link to the anchor for that portion of the FAQ).

Just read bout apple buying adobe (http://it.sys-con.com/read/214144.htm). It`s not a news, not even a rumor but sort of speculation. Or bettter said a wish from an Apple fan. Acc to Mr. Cringley if Apple buys out adobe than they have every chane in world to beat M$ in the OS sector.

Being bad news for the recording industry, this is also of course bad for iTunes. More importantly, it is really bad for people who actually *enjoy* listening to music and are able to pay for that music.
Negative votes all around. Obviously, there's a way around any DRM (if you can hear it you can record it). Obviously, rental programs like this make the way around the DRM from a personal "why would I do that" game to a high-stakes, "get my entire music library containing every song I've ever heard and a few I hope I never hear again for $10" game.
While it does make for bad PR, I don't believe it is universally bad for everyone. In fact I think it will definitely benefit Apple in the end.
What is required for online music is not an unpenetrable DRM scheme, it's simply for purchased online music to be no easier to rip off than regular CD's. You can get around Apple's DRM, but if I'm going to steal music I'd rather download a 256 kbps VBR that someone ripped from a CD. Or just borrow and copy said CD from a friend. DRM-free music is all over the place, 99.9% of which did not come from cracking iTunes DRM.
This Napster thing is much different, as it potentially enables much faster theft of a lot of music. Like I said, in the next few days someone will put together a simple program (a simple script actually) to automate this WinAmp endaround, including automatically re-encoding to say mp3, and copying over ID tag data. Let you computer run overnight to continuously churn out the tunes, and in a few days you have gigabytes of free music. (the only thing I'm not sure of is if the current workaround requires playing the DRM music at 1x. If so, surely there will be a way of cranking out WAV files at 10X or faster...) Keep in mind this is BEFORE the actual DRM has been cracked (and it inevitably will.)
Once this happens, it will give Napster a big black eye in the eyes of the record company. Who will win? It will be Apple, who really thought through the entire digitial music process starting a few years back, has a very popular service, and has a DRM system that is certiainly no easier to bypass than just copying regular CD's or downloading P2P. The record companies want safety and stability, and this problem with Napster will make them even more likely to be pro-Apple/iTunes.

I never liked that move...bring the senior members' section of the boards, made by arn, to the bottom of the forums page. I feel that never should have happened. The move feels like an iniquity every day I notice the forums by the archives for Mac Help/Tips, which consist of helpful threads that will never be reopened.
My question is: Why? Why was it placed in the pits of the forums page?
