It could be a situation where Apple wouldn't be buying enough G5s from Moto to warrant that kind of investment.
The last I saw, Apple's market share was about 4%. If getting the 8560 to work on a Mac costs Motorola a lot of money, then it's likely that Moto wouldn't do it. It's a ROI thing.

Thats right. Its motorala thats chip cant handle DDRAM. Therefore, I think Apple is using DDRAM in the powermacs + Xserves just for marketing purposes.

Glad you are having fun. Many would argue that the it is the music industry that is doing the pillaging and it is the consumers pockets that are being raided. Legal and right are not always the same things. How come there is no competition in song pricing anyway?
HAHAHA. LMAO. Wow. Where to start?
This logic is faulty on so many levels. Because enough people break the laws in place, it should become legal? If raiding and pillaging started affecting your hometown, would you try to stop it, or simply give in and join in? Would you, as a legislator in your small town vote to make pillaging legal simply because so many people do it? I should hope not. Pillaging is taking away the rights of your citizens, the same as music piracy. People are taking advantage of the music without accepting the terms it comes with, thus taking wrongful advantage of the artists. DRM simply helps to maintain the license that you are purchasing to listen to their music.

It's amazing how mature 2.0, and how mature ID is on the whole, when you consider it hasn't been out for that long.
I really think some hacker at Adobe has a mail forwarding system working, taking all of the customer suggestions from Quark and sending it to Adobe HQ.
Hence ID. Obviously Quark wasn't, hasn't and will never listen.
Cheers to a slow and painful death for Quark!
I got to see Belly for free here in 1994, and was right up in front of Tanya Donnelly. Darn is she hot!
I envy you.
I was going to go see Julianna Hatfield, but something happened and I wound up not going. They did a Kick*** remake of the "Josie and the PussyCats" theme song together.
Oh yeah, Quark still sux.

I was playing with it and what you are putting the team number where you put your user number. In that same field you need to enter: 140721 this is your number. If you enter that number it should come up with your score. :)
Good to see you are getting in too it!
Thanks! That explains it :) I am starting to enjoy this :D

Apple has announced its second Canadian store.
As was widely known, Apple Store - Toronto Eaton Centre has been under construction for some time. One could peek through the door crack and see a nearly complete store.
The newest Apple store will open its doors on Saturday, May 6 @ 9.30am
Awesome! I'll have to see if amacgenius wants to hoof up there this weekend.

There is actually a reason to buy a Radeon 9700 Pro or a GeForce 4 Ti (or the upcoming NV30), and it was already mentioned. The ability to plan current games at high resolutions (1600x1200 or better) with 4x anti-aliasing (and antiscoptric filtering) and STILL have them be playable (75+ FPS). That makes the current games look a helluva lot better then what they do even on a Radeon 8500.
However, that reason alone may or may not be worth $400.

Sony's biggest mistake was in not enabling online multiplayer for Wipeout:Pure - a AAA game otherwise - as well as certain other games such as Hotshots Golf. I ended up playing both of those MUCH in online multiplayer down the road using my xlink kai the airport card in my powerbook as a wireless point. This was a free service (used in conjunction with Amarylis and Kaid OSX Menu free software in OSX) that used the PSP's ad hoc functionality (intended by Sony for local multiplayer) to achieve remote multiplayer. Was awesome (especially in wipeout up to 4-5 players) BUT the only people to play against were the same handful of folks savy enough to figure out how to get the thing to work - or even know of xlink kai in the first place. IF the multiplayer had been provided directly by Sony, the PSP would have really taken off and never have slowed down. Yeah there was Socom, but by then it was really too late in the public eye, especially current/former PS2 owners.
1-2 years ago I wrote a good number of posts here at MR on the PSP (including xlink kai), homebrew, etc.

I downloaded Firefox to see what the fuss was about. I like it ok, but overall I'm just sort of "meh" about it.
Safari rocks for me. As does Mail.

I tried to read the article, but couldn't come away with anything as mind blowing as the title. Perhaps it's that Finals-Week state of mind...
Can someone sum up in two lines what's so cool about this, and what the possibilities are? From what I read it sounded like they made a better PDF file...

I'm on a couple of forums that have no post count statuses. We still tend to get lots of one-line 'me too' posts tho. It's a sports forum though.
The trouble is that for many new questioners on a 'tech' board, it's useful to know whether the answer to fix your sick Mac is coming from a fellow newbie who may not know the answer or somene who's been there and tried it several times (although 6502 status may have been built up through 'me too' posts and the newbie may be a closet Mac service repairer!)
The trouble is that a 'postcount' based system is the easiest to organise/manage. Unfortunately, it's also the easiest to abuse. I'm not sure whether perhaps there's a way to mix posts with time on the site. So you can't be a 6502 until you've been a member for 6 or 12 months (which might discourage some from posting more than the 1 to 3 times a day that would take).
I guess the other problem is the community spirit. As seen in the recent 'You know you spend too much time on Macrumors when' thread, this community is addictive. People click on the 'new posts' search and want to be included, want to be helpful and feel they need to say something, even if it's not particularly useful to the person.
If people also read through rather than just hitting reply, we'd have less too. Yes, threads get long but if you don't read all the way through and jsut add a question that's already been answered, you make them even longer - and you're still going to go through screeds to find the answer if you come back several hours later to check.
Perhaps if everyone paused before hitting the 'submit reply' button to figure out if what they'd typed did actually help or further the discussion rather than being a 'me too', we'd have a few less posts... (pause..... click)

No WiFi?
I'd take the XBox 360 Premium, + WiFi over an XBox 360 with a bigger hard drive, thanks.
I don't see why XBox 360 owners would be ticked, unless they *needed* HDMI (why does it matter that much? Component is still the same quality). It's just a hard drive upgrade. I'd still buy a Premium if I was buying one today.

That's quite a fantasy you're having there. "Bartender, I'll have whatever he's having." :)
Well, I suppose its good to set one's goals high- that way you always have something to shoot for (but ya, its more of a fantasy ;) ). :)
