You guys are being way too optimistic.
New PowerBooks with 1 GHz G4, SuperDrive, and 64 MB Video Card, if we're lucky. New iBook with 800 MHz (+ if they go with a 133 MHz FSB, probably still a G3) and 32 MB Radeon, but probably only if the PowerBook gets a 64.
Maybe intergrated Bluetooth, but probably not until the next itineration.
Eventually new iMacs and eMacs with single 1 GHz G4s and a 133 MHz FSB. New Superdrives, probably in the Towers first, after they come out. But, NO NEW TOWERS!!! Not for awhile anyway. They JUST started shipping the 1.25s, and January isn't that far away.
Hate to be a buzzkill, and I hope I'm wrong.

No....you did no such thing, and no offense was taken. I didn't join this thread till the last post. I only used Hitler as an example becasue it rang true of the same kind of "head in the sand" attitude we in the Mac community take at times.

...that he really means slower than x86, not lower clocking. The SPEC numbers for the PPC970 are higher than any current x86 chip, but lower than the numbers for a 2GHz Hammer which is what it'll be competing against. The performance difference isn't as big as the current one, but we'll still need duals to be faster than x86 (this *may* change when it goes to .09 micron).

I am surprised there has not been a hack released to allow the use of a external USB 2.0 HD for storage in the 360. Or has there?

I heard somewhere else that Power4 is not compatible with AltiVec. But this guy seems pretty reliable...

what's folding ?
Folding proteins. See http://folding.stanford.edu
It's a project to advance bioscience to help find cures for things like Alzheimer's and Cancer.

Note: This application has been untested by this site, and Apple will likely take steps to prevent future usage.iTMS just used web service interfaces and XML over HTTP... It will be interesting to see just how they could stop an app from accessing.
What is more likely is that the iTMS servers would add in the DRM and buyer metadata before it gets downloaded. Its actually a little shocking that it wasn't designed to do that in the first place!

Wow. That's cool. The crowd seems pretty excited. I think Steve looks a little like Adam Standler there. Am I right?

Yay for Firefox!
I use it almost exclusively in Windows. Lately, It's become my primary browser on the Mac too. Safari is very nice, but Firefox has some features that I've come to love :)
In the end, having people migrate from IE to alternative browsers, be it Firefox, Safari or Opera, will be better for the web. Some competition is needed :)

They're doing it because otherwise, Apple products would wind up costing twice as much as equivalent products from other people.
That's what they want you to think. They want you to think they are building their product in China to cut the consumer a good deal and leaving themselves a slim profit margin. Au contraire monfraire. ;)

Shrek, its not personal - if you put a little thought into your threads there wouldn't be a problem. Like KC said, it might just be poor timing.
Again, I'm not out to sabotage your thread - what you had posted just didn't make any sense to me and I was responding. So don't let this stop you from starting a thread in the future.
And as for King Cobra - ask him about his Vacuum Of Infinite Density - or better yet, do a search for that. You're not the only one to get a little flak! :D

Well, I've block http://*.aol.*/* so nothing with AOL as the mid-point can be accessed. I wonder what their servers are? - EDIT: Nope, I put it on my firewall block. I hate AOL, a bad bad service!

The beta sucks but I won't judge the final until I see it...I don't need jimmi jumping at me this early in the morning:)

:p
well I had a perfectly valid point. Betas are there to be upgraded.
I'd have liked some kind of user profile though. So I can keep my faves and cookies seperate from my families. Wii Browser 2?

Some more to add onto Catfish_Man's fact/guess stuff
FACT: Apple is giving away 10.2 to all k-12 teachers for free
GUESS: Though this all may be goodwill, I'm thinking that Apple is getting rid of stock for SOME reason. Maybe they're going to release some updated version of 10.2, so 10.2.2 or something like that should be in the works. Probably not another major OS upgrade, but I'm thinking something, oh say, driver wise.
GUESS: Apple will release a new version of wireles networking using the 802.11a standard.
GUESS: Apple's new computers will use USB2.0. They've always been the company to initiate change, I'm thinkin that they'll lead the revolution into 2.0. Probably another reason to release 10.2.2 -> have a release on the new systems that supports USB 2
GUESS: New version of firewire (the so called "giga-wire"). Supposedly from news sites such as Slashdot, Geek.com and The Reg, such a protocol was to be in the works from apple. Who knows, just a guess. Goes with the OS upgrade too though; newer hardware needs new support, and apple's going to build it into their operating system.
GUESS: Completely updated version of the Powerbook. I think apple *might* redesign the Powerbook to shove more hardware into it. Maybe we'll get the ever elusive "notebook superdrive."
Overall, I think there might be a complete revamp of the Apple line. Everything is starting to become a bit old in design, so they might redo everything, which would setup the next gen macs using the new IBM processor
