the proper link can be hard to find, so here it is (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/abiword/AbiWord-2.2.0.dmg.gz).
this has made great improvements over the 2.1 betas. the interface is much more aquified than the older versions and all of the tools are now available in a floating palette instead of the very pc-ish toolbar! this one also seems to be much more stable than the 2.1 betas. TextEdit usually takes care of the majority of my text editing needs, but for the times i need a full word processor i use abiword. i'd say this new version may very well have me using it for everything. i recommend that everybody try this out, you'll be impressed. once the ms word import plug-in works, i think abiword will really take off on the mac.

Well, WEP is kind of junk, as know, but I think the general reasons for using encryption above access control are:
1) Packets can be sniffed and analyzed to give access to sensitive info when just MAC is used (not too relevant to DS)
2) Packets can be sniffed and the MAC address can be extracted and spoofed (more of an issue).
Makes sense, wasn't occuring to me that the packets would obviously not be encrypted then.
I'll probably play with WEP then. The two together should be plenty for me. Doubt I am close to many network hackers anyway...

Single player mostly. I just find I'd rather be doing something else than playing video games when I'm with a group of friends. Unless it's something interactive like Guitar Hero, haven't tried a Wii yet but I'm sure I'd dig that.

Miglia needs to fix their other products before foisting yet another DVR solution, since their other ones hardly work!
My AlchemyTV card conflicts with iChat and I have to reinstall the software for it all the time, and even then, AlchemyTV is slower than hell, and it's been over a year since I bought the kit.
I hope ElGato's support of the ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 unit is good, because that looks to be a good option. Unfortunately, no reviews yet.

I think you are all overreacting. Have you actually read how it was cracked? Basically play your music, and record it. Replace Napster with iTunes, and the instructions would still remain valid. (but then the itunes drm was _really_ cracked, and it's easier to use hymn than to use the analogue loophole available to any drm scheme)
Personally I think that all the napster bashing is pretty sick.. The more competition, the better. I hate all monopolies, I don't care if it is a stylish monopoly.
Bah, maybe someday there will be a music download service that doesn't lock me in on their platform, that doesn't restrict me what I can do with _MY_ music, that gives me high quality music! A service that doesn't suck to put it bluntly. When we get there, it will be thanks to plain old competition in a free market. Nothing else.

Do it. Except for real. :D
Good luck! I think you have all of MacRumors behind you now! For a little clarification, you do see your console's serial number is on your wireless network?
Daniel.
Hehe, yeah, I'd love to go Godfather on them. If only I could find a horse head...
And yep, the console's serial number shows up in Connect360 whenever they connect.

We are kicking some serious folding butt these days. Four teams to pass on the horizon and three of them by February! Having some issues with my "farm" in Atlanta, but hopefully that will get sorted out as my compatriot gets things handled.
But all the good news doesn't mean we can slack off! Gotta keep those Knights away and regain a spot in the top 20...

Under the optimized versions I do not see 7447 the processor used in my eMac.
It the 7400 the correct optimized version to use?

As for being difficult to manufacture... Apple doesn't even manufacture the TiBooks itself. And they do make a massive profit off them. $1000+ on the high-end model (at least that's how it was with the rev Bs). If they want to sell more, they should lower the prices, but that's obvious.
My problem with the TiBook is its paint. It chips. I don't understand why Apple couldn't have chosen some kind of scratch & chip-resistant automotive-type paint, or used gray plastic instead of carbon fiber for the frame, or something. If not on the rev As, then on the rev Bs or Cs. This paint-chipping problem has been around forever and it still hasn't been fixed.
Same for the body. Why paint the titanium? Why not just have shiny bare titanium? Anyway, why titanium at all when magnesium is lighter and more rigid? A black anodized magnesium PowerBook, using the same design as the current TiBook, would be awesome.

Firefox is great for windows users, much better than IE, but on the mac, i prefer Safari, i'm just more used to the interface and like it much better. Besides, i can't notice THAT big of a difference in speed between the two.

Won't make any difference to me. As a commercial prepress manageer, I have to support both Quark XPress and Adobe InDesign, and that means I've already upgraded to v6.5 (and am glumly awaiting the release of CS2 to spend even more money).

This plug-in that enables Photoshop to fully utilize Apple's G5 processor and replaces the Adobe Color Engine with a new one designed specifically for the G5.
