No mention about safari or does that fall into the "catch all" browser category. Well it's good to hear that people are making the right choices. If IE was a good product, then I wouldn't bash it ... but it is, and I am.
For windows, Firefox is much better than IE: Hands down.
Even in .1 (not 1.0) it was more enjoyable to use than IE, it's all about experience i say.. if u have a good experience with a piece of software, you'll stick with it, like i have with firefox

I used to be a huge WarCraft junkie when WC3 came out. I was thinking about getting the new expansion to World of Warcraft. My only quesiton is do I have to buy the original WoW, or can i just jump straight into the expansion without the original one>
Thanks

Well would it be any better if this thread was in the Wasteland and we could post in there?
BTW: There have been newbies with even more time on their hands than Powerbook G5 or duke, or both put together. Registered member (then demoted) samdweck had over 240 posts in a period of 72 hours.
Edit: Hey, you can also edit posts in the Archives. :D

Crackdown, along with Saints Row seem like petrol station breaks before the destination. GTA just has a level of humour that doesn't seem as contrived as Saints Row, and personally I'm not keen on the future style of Crackdown (note my fave GTA so far is Vice City).
Because dialogue is very important in these games, and because GTA usually has great dialogue and no over the top super powers, just feels much more refined. Despite the previously buggy-as-hell engines.

Here's my prediction:
Remember they talked about giving away $100.00 laptop all over the world? I think Google OS is for it! Cuz google is free for everything (softwares, emails, etc.). What do you think?
EDIT: laptop for poor children / education, somethhing like that.

I think most of the blame lies with Motorola. Think of it this way, they have not even given Apple a processor that is fully DDRAM compatible (let alone enought speed bumps). Its a hash up system at the moment. I think when we get a full DDRAM G4 + the speed bump we need in Janaury the systems will get the performance needed.

i second this. folding is how i found MR, and reading the orginal catch me thread between dreadnought and atzyman is what got me going down the road to addiction...
Once I hit the one million points mark, I vow to start folding under the name Dreadnought and contribute any future points to help him climb the ranks to the lofty position he so rightly deserves!

I also realize that some tests will show that a chip with twice the Mhz is actually 10x as fast this is known. Overall though most of the time when you analyze a complete system the speed does not go up equally with the Mhz speed of the cpu.
I don't disregard these tests at all in that they give you a very good break down of how your system might perform doing the tasks it was tested in. That's all a benchmark tells you anyhow. It just tells you what your system can do with those specific tests it has very little to do with real life and real applications most of the time.

I didn't notice the user id of the thread starter xrhajj. I mistakenly got the idea from your d-link and ipod attachment statement that you wanted to transmit files with BT. I've been waiting to listen without wires for sometime now:) that's why I bought a T68:D sorry

Dude, it's apple. you need to b*tch like anything to them to get it fixed. Ask to be transferred to second tier, yell down the phone, whatever it takes... You just have to be really $#!++y with them and then they'll co-operate. that's the only way i could get my base station replaced. trust me, i tried the nice approach, doesn't work, you've just got to be pissed off enough to make them want to fix the problem so they don't have to hear about it any more.

The cities look a little messed up because Google Trends first looks at a sample of all Google searches to determine the cities from which we received the most searches for your first term. Then, for those top cities, Google Trends calculates the ratio of searches for your term coming from each city divided by total Google searches coming from the same city. The city ranking you see on the page and the bar charts alongside each city name both represent this ratio. - Google
So I think, they pick the city with the highest percentage of searches being the chosen term.

...and I agree with you. With Dell coming out with 2.2GHz laptops...
What do you mean "coming out with?" I've had my 2.2ghz Dell laptop since September 26th. I don't forsee a PBook that I would even think about buying until the 130nm G4's are out, hopefully within the first part of 2003.

Just a word of warning to everyone coming to Southlake for this event. Saturday is not just the opening of a new Apple store, but the opening of an entire new division of Southlake Towne Square (Southlake's "outdoor mall"). In fact I have driven through the part of the parking lot that is accessable and have not been able to see the Apple Store as much of this new section is partitioned off to the public and I imagine it will be until the Grand Opening. I don't know what this will do to those planning on standing in some sort of line.
This has been hyped for quite a while and will be the thing to do. There is a parade planned and the majority of the community is expected to be in attendance. Good Luck.

Apple sure is suing a lot these days. Is there a connection? Probably but it is truly justified.
Somebody posted without reading the thread... ;)
