To crack (more so by pass) the activation on a non corparate copy you have to really know what you are doing and that is when you have a guild on how to do it.
It's actually not that difficult. As a moderator I'm supposed to set an example, so I won't go into details, but I've done it myself :)

YEAH! That's a good idea!
That would be a "win-situation" for everybody.
How come nobody thought of that before?
And why hasn't anybody given any comment? (Besides me) I'd really like to get some qualified commentes here. (Mine's not - I know!)

BECAUSE JAGUAR IS NOT AS RELIABLE, FLEXIBLE, COMPATIBLE AND FRIENDLY THAN OS 9 !!! [/B]
I agree with MyMemory that Jaguar is not:
1) As compatible
2) As friendly
3) As fast (I added this one)
... as Mac OS 9
HOWEVER, it's certainly more reliable and flexible. This is especially true from a developer's standpoint.
Given the maturity of OS 9's interface, it's not at all surprising that OS X is lagging a bit on the usability front. The devil is in the details and any programmer knows how much complexity actually goes into the details.
But, the fact is that OS 9 was a dead end for Apple. There are only so many hacks you can get away with before they start to catch up with you. While OS X lags a bit now, it will progress much faster than anything built on 9 could and we will all be better off a year or so down the road.

Hi all,
there's a discussion thread under the article. if you read thru it many of your questions will be answered - such as why Adobe is doing this.

Say they released it next year, then people would all think about buying it rather than the next version of Winblows. Windows on the shelf beside it will be 5 times the price, yet it will have next to no features improved over their current one.
I don't think that there would be a big problem with people not buying macs. I now have two macs and since I converted I have a PC. I would buy a copy of 10.2 for my PC but would not even think of buying another PC.

question anybody else have a lynx or a jaguar
I have a Lynx in working condition.
My Mom still has the ole Atari 2600. (the first model with the wood grain. ;)) Last time I check it still worked.
At my Mom's house the Atari is sitting in its Atari case (also original) under my Nintendo which my kids still play every time they are there. (The original Nintendo. The Super Mario/ duck hunt combo...) My oldest plays Super Mario Brothers and he just started playing Jackal. he used to play duck hunt when he was little. (and he would touch the gun to the TV when he shot.. :))
We have a couple of b/w gameboys (the silver smaller edition) that the boys play with. I have a Gameboy Advanced that I play. And a Gamecube that we all play.
On my mac I still have a shortcut on the desktop for Strategic Conquest 4.0. I just love that game...
My C64 died, otherwise I would still have it, but I think I wore the thing out. It was on all of the time.

just go to the main site and download the preview again?
Anyone see why I don't post links to beta software now? :D
The final product should be ready shortly but those plug-in writers need to fix their software to work with the proper interface. They probably had to write workarounds to get everything to work with the broken interface tha Firefox has been using all this time.

Is it against the Mac OS X EULA to install it on any non-Apple computer? In that case, CherryOS and PearPC users are criminals. Clean as a whistle maybe, but how did they test it without installing software against it's EULA and breaking the law?

I always thought Apple named it as a play on the Command key symbol - when you look at it and follow it, it's an infinite loop:D.
Well, it makes sense to me.

um no, that probably is not going to happen. apple has it's high-end laptop and it's more consumer-friendly laptop, I doubt they would introduce a even lower-end model, not even for education purposes. just my 2 cents though.

It's not the initial learning curve that worries me, it's getting up to the same fluency and deftness with an application that takes time and practice.
Getting keyboard shortcuts into muscle memory, learning new words for the same processes etc.
Also, once you're very familiar with a package you can think and plan your way through a design/technical problem knowing what you need to do and what order you need to do it in. It literally becomes second-nature and that's when creativity and work just flows without you having to think about what it is you're exactly doing.
Someone told me that you can import Quark shortcuts into InDesign. If this is true, this would help out a TON since I use my keyboard more than I use the mouse. Different names for the same procedures would take getting used to, though.

Ok so,
A couple of weeks ago, I was still looking for a job. Sears seemed to be (and still is) a good possibility. Soon after I scheduled an interview at Sears, I received a call from the freaking Apple Store here! I was a bit surprised to say the least. I was asked to attend the hiring event they had about a week ago.
So at this hiring event, instead of being like a typical job interview thing, we did a really interesting little commercial making thing where we were given like an hour or so to create a commercial using cameras, etc and the iLife stuff. Neat, huh? I'm sure some of you have visited apple stores and done this so you just shush :p
So our time passes and we all have to turn in our work. Everyone's commercial seems to be far superior to ours, which makes me a bit worried. Once the commercials are shown, we're told that if they like us, we'll get a call.
A couple days pass and my friends and I are in the mall when I receive a call from a number I'm not familiar with. Then I recognize it slightly and freeze. I missed the call by seconds and completely freak out in joy in the middle of the mall. I had a second interview!
So it's coming up soon and I'm really excited but also a little nervous. Getting this job would make me quite happy and for the first time, I'd enjoy my job! I know a few people at that store and they're all really nice guys.
So I'm also a bit worried because this whole process may have shut me down for other job opportunities. If I don't get this job, I really hope I do, heh, I don't know if I have any of the jobs I had offers for anymore. My entire financial well-being is kind of based on apple right now, heh.
But meh! I really wanted to work here from the beginning! I have confidence, but I'm also being humble and down to earth about this. Does anyone have any good tips for interviews such as this? Let me know of your experiences!

I saw the coolest stickers in a Nintendo magazine the other day. Just put the stickers on the Wii and the Motes and you have a classic Nintendo. They looked really sharp and worked well. Wish I had pics....that was a mod I might do. Make everything look old school...
