Guess the crack Apple Legal Team have taken it down.
Yes, the dock type interface is copyright by Apple. I don't have the link on me, but it is copyright.

So far the tests I have seen don't show it faster. How does all the PeeCeee manufactures make those machines run so much faster with no where near the noise the new machines make.
I want a new machine but that godawful noise I can't work with.
Go hang out with one for a while, when that PS fan kicks in you will think someone has started up a vacumm cleaner.
I'll bitch if I like, it is my money and I'll decide if I like it or not, not you.

actually I got blank DVD-Rs for $1.50 each. so i imagine by 2005 they will be at blank CD-R prices. haha actually by then B-Ray disks will hold 50GBs so sony's 4GB wont be a threat.

I think Microsoft is using hard drive capacity against the PS3. 120 GB vs. 60 GB. What are you going to choose? Ignoring BluRay (and it's likely consumers will ignore BluRay), this may appear to be the better buy at quick glance especially with an online media store behind it.
I hope this would mean a price drop on the Premium box, but I'm guessing not :(
If the Elite went at a 399 price point and the Premium takes the 299 price point, it would be a glorious day :) But, it's not going to happen anytime soon. "Late-summer or fall" at best doesn't help me.

that idea however, has nothing to do with bluetooth enabling the hard drive. and I still wonder if using radio transmission might be a better alternative for such things (I have no idea). Maybe the remote would be coolas a bluetooth device.

So I'm only 4 months behind the original people if I'm right... right? :D

You forgot to mention the price difference too.... Yeah they both have their advantages and disadvantages, but if I were to get a computer right now, I would get a PC. It is because I can find a 2.8 GHz PC for half the price of a 1.25 (2x) pMac. Luckily for apple, I am waiting, because I trust apple to release something revolutionary within a year from now. ::::coug:::: GPUL ::::cough::::.. :D

Let me say as a current college professor and Mac user and as a Mac user since 1984, that choosing just because of Mac friendliness is a poor methodology.
In general, Many schools will tolerate Macs on the netowrk. As long as your program does not require a PC for testing, or intentionally lock out Macs, consider it 'friendly' Most schools have small pockets of Mac lovers that are hard core but its not advertised or official university policy. My school (part of the Cal State System) has many Macs, but officially, they are not liked at my campus. That said, they are well supported but you will never see any evidence of this on websites, or tech documents.
Just don't miss out on a great school for something that you may be able to overcome. Ask more guided questions about if they have VLANs, how they authenticate? Is it C, JAVA, MAC address based. etc. Most people will say NO MAcs because they don't know or feel its more trouble.
I'm still in High School, but I'm applying to college:) Oh and if they are not Mac friendly they are not on my list at all.

i did think about it. and i didn't mean now, i meant when the TiBook was updated.

What I'm saying is that The Omni Group needs to do one of two things:
1. Keep updating OnmiWeb as WebCore gets updated.
2. Abandon the integrated WebCore and just use the one built into the system.
Right now, they've chosen path #1 - they're going to have to keep it up, though.
Choosing path #2 isn't a panacea either.
WebCore, like any suitably large subsystem, has bugs that sometimes have to be worked around. If it's compiled in to the app, Omni can compile in workarounds for any bugs in the version they're using. If they use the system version, they need to build in workarounds for every version a customer may have (meaning every version Apple has shipped for supported versions of MacOS.) And you'll still have to update this as new versions of WebCore are released to customers.
Second, it dilutes the value of the product in the eyes of some customers. If your app is a wrapper around a system-provided component, can you justify the cost of the product solely on the quality of that wrapper?

I have a dual 450, and I play WCIII all the time, if anything, it's faster than my friends Athlon 2100+. I notice no choppiness and my computer is 3 years old. I have 2x AGP and PC100 RAM, and my computer is still fast, not fastest, but I have a fast computer, no doubt about it. And one other thing, yeah my friend might be able to say, crunch more SETI blocks, but as for actual usefullness, I do week-long calculations in Mathematica for my patent (when I can give up WCIII :) But they're a week long, because they're a week long, not because the computer is slow, it would still take a fast computer 4 days to do) and can still USE my computer while it's calculating. So as it doing that I can still check my mail or come here once in a while, without having to worry about jeopordizing my calculation.
