Don't worry about Apple techies insisting that the new one is better... the fact is that no test has shown with any authority which is better.
I also suspect that a lot of die-hard Macheads are currently in the process of brainwashing themselves to worship the DDR PM's in order to maintain the "Apple rocks" world view.
I say that the DDR PM's are OK but not very exciting. Performance is not the primary advantage of the new PM's; I'd say it's mostly RAM and disk capacity.

Because you've inspired so many of us to join. If not for you and your signature the team would have at least 828,032 fewer points, because I never would have signed up.

Just what kind of work requires 2 Formac 2010's? That would be a friggin' WALL of LCD feedback!
I suppose digital video editors could use the space, as well as audio engineers working with tons of tracks and plug-ins. But SHEESH!! That's a LOT of real estate! For HD editing an ideal set-up might be one Apple 23" and one of these Formacs--the Formac for editing and the 23" for full-screen proper aspect ratio playback. WHOA...!

"...and there is nothing we can do about it."
Online gaming forums are buzzing with reports that Xbox Live accounts linked to Microsoft's Windows Live ID service are being hijacked by malicious hackers.
Kevin Finisterre, a security researcher at Digital Munition, raised the issue on the Full Disclosure mailing list over the weekend, calling attention to rumors that Microsoft's Bungie.net was the victim of a breach that exposed a portion of Xbox Live.
"Some folks are having their Microsoft points stolen and or points purchased via their stolen gamer tag," Finisterre said.
A quick search of user forums at xbox.com and other gaming sites turned up multiple messages from Xbox Live users complaining about hijacked accounts, which typically link gamer tags to Windows Live ID (formerly .NET Passport).
xbox live hijacks
According to Finisterre, there is a group online called "Infamous Clan" brazenly offering to "jack" Xbox Live accounts and boasting about successful account theft.
Several Xbox Live users contacted me to confirm the rumors and make it clear that the stolen accounts are being used for nefarious purposes.
One reader writes:
"I have been involved with Microsoft Support for days on this exact issue and have spent many hours on the phone trying to prove to them that, first, my Windows Live ID was stolen and, second, the ID and password associated with my ID were changed; two actions that Microsoft swears can NEVER happen; and third that the thief was able then use my credit card information associated with one of my Windows Live ID accounts to purchase over $800 of Microsoft products.
Thank goodness for other websites that still contained my old Windows Live ID information and also the fact that, in order to gain access to those other websites, you NEED a Windows Live ID. After spending over 20+ hours on the phone with support and finally getting them to realize that I did indeed have a Windows Live ID, after pointing them to the other websites, I was told by a supervisor that "Yes, in fact, we have heard of some instances where a user's Windows Live ID had been compromized!"
After finally getting this confirmation and having a case number assigned and forwarded to Microsoft Security Investigations, they, also, confirmed it as a breach, issued me another Windows Live ID and then reinitialized the stolen Microsoft Products that were associated with the old ID over to the new ID."
Another gamer wrote in with an identical complaint, warning that Microsoft's product support staff have been unhelpful. "They admit this is an issue but say there's nothing they can do about it," he added. Digital Munition's Finisterre also made a note about the lack of support from Microsoft:
I just got off the phone with a Microsoft Tech for Xbox live that has confirmed this to with me and they have stated that accounts are being stolen and that "Hackers have control of Xbox live and there is nothing we can do about it."
Microsoft did not respond to a request for comment.

While I'm not surprised by this, I do think it sucks for end-users.

Well he's looking for people to test the game on OS X and report bugs back, much like beta testers do... And to properly test the game you have to play it a bunch, so I don't think he's in the wrong forum. If I was into FPSs I'd do it....

It nullifies your power to complain. You said, "I don't think this business model is right" in your head, but clicked "I agree to these terms and conditions" anyway. Then you decide that the terms are inconvenient for you. Now you are breaking those terms, which in addition to being illegal on two fronts (copyright law and a legal TOS contract), is breaking your word. There's no way to construe that as morally sound.
Sounds to me like your world falls apart when people disagree with you. A small island you must live on when you know all options open to humans who have the same capacity to reason as you. It must feel good to know you are right. Funny how the same arguments you use have be used throughout history and have ALWAYS been seen as wrong over time. You are Midas yelling at the waves.
Personally, I would prefer to have a bunch of people like you around to check me when I think I know what is right. I am happy to let people see the world from their own vantage without the need to "correct" them. I have no doubt that you will learn that your child will not follow your dictums without question. And here you are, on a forum with adults, and you propose that we simply roll over and agree with you. Pah! Tell us what you think and let us reason for ourselves. The fact that you agree or disagree with an individual is of no importance - except maybe to you.

Really? I find IGN very balanced compared to say Gamespot who way under rates everything that comes to the Wii.
Zelda TP 8.9, OoT VC 8.9, SMW VC 8.5, AlttP VC 8.5, SMB VC 8.3 WTF? These classics shouldn't score any lower than they originally did considering they are exactly the same games.
IGN has only given a few Wii games decent scores so I don't see how they are biased but whatever...I don't really rely on critics to form an opinion on a game but it is helpful to figure out which ones to rent first.
In any case, have you played it? How do you know its gimicky? I don't really care that its a ports since like many, I never played the original anyway. And the fact that its EA gives me hope as it could be a really decent game like Madden '07 or SSX Blur. The only gimicky tacked on EA game I have played so far is NFS Carbon.
You should read GameSpot's reviewing system, a 10 today is worth more than a 10 8 years ago, that means that while OoT was a 10 game by 1998 standards, its an 8.9 game today (according to GameSpot), keep in mind as well that its a re-release.

A) Does the problem reoccur, and
B) Don't the kidlets get really pissed off when this happens at a crucial moment? (Maybe the kidlets are more mature than I am. :D )
Yeah, it seems to happen periodically with the 'mote and nunchuck that came with the Wii, but not the ones I bought after.
They've figured it out now so they know what to do in case it happens. Pause the game and unplug the nunchuck. Is that mature :p?

5. is BS, the new power supply has 400 watts - 40 more than the last model.
There are also two more drives to support, another optical drive, and increases in bus & processor speeds (yes this takes more watts).
Doesn't sound like overkill to me.
XRaid was pre-announced during the introduction of the XServe, everyone has just been waiting for Apple to officially intro the Raid drive holder.

There's only one time I had to worry about different cockspeeds, and it had nothing to do with a computer.
But, seriously, folks...
I think a desktop-replacement book would be nice, but only as an adjunct to the current or similar TiBook... there's not a whole lot of competition on the PC side (it seems you either have lower-end iBook-like books, or big heavy power-sucking monsters.)

Welcome to the boards. Hope you enjoy the community.
If you do a search for Desktop Manager, you will find it mentioned several places on the board.
I've tried it, and use it some. Pretty cool.
Make yourself at home on the boards and enjoy the ride!
