You want to use the beta SMP version--it will eventually expire and need an update, but it folds FAST! And it is the native version needed for Intel Macs.
Remove ALL traces of previous folding (search for f@h and fah and folding, I suppose) then gat "SMP Client Installer" here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
You won't need the terminal--it's a nice pref pane now. But at least during the beta period, be sure that:
a) You run it nearly full-time (deadlines are vey tight)
and b) You don't change your network (like pulling the Ethernet out or even losing yoru WiFi signal accidentally) without Stopping folding first. (This is done via System Preferences now.) My Wi-Fi drops out a few times a day, and all work is lost when it happens :( But Stanford knows about the issue I think.
InCrease may be useful, but I believe it's quirky with SMP still.
If you're already using SMP, then maybe it's just a temporary outage at Stanford.
More info at the teammacosx.com forums -- and we're open to helping any team, not just our own :) All are welcome, and all help the science.

I don't think thats an iMac. If I compare mine to that one, I see the chin is smaller on that, and the the screen is too close to the bottom of the "rectangle part".

Yes, very good article indeed. If that were to happen and I were Dell... I'd be scared now.

Not necessarily. You can be sure that as soon as the 15" iMacs are phased out the price of the 17" iMac will drop considerably, and a 19" iMac will be about the price of a 17" today. :) Don't get me wrong, but this is exactly how the tech industry works. ;)

Hmm, yeah I think I've heard about that before. Thanks. I'll have to look around to see if there's a way to make it work with my mac, or I guess I could just use windows...
If you have an intel Mac then you may be able to use crossover (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/download_trial_macosx/) to get the windows drivers for the XboX controller to work under Mac OS X. I have used it to make the windows drivers for my Logitech Precision Gamepad to work and it is flawless for that purpose.

It could be that 7455A == 7457, but I dunno.
That would mean that the 1.25 was being made with a .13 process READ A LOT LESS HEAT and from what I've seen the 1.25 isn't any smaller nor running cooler...
Like I said the 1.25 is just a 1.0 running better than it should...

Sorry for all the posts. I seem to have more opinions and questions than usual today.
Will it be possible for a third party software company to write a front-end client for the iTunes Music Store that plays by "the rules" (paying for purchases, allowing or applying DRM) but has other features that iTunes lacks, in a way that wouldn't be a problem for Apple?
I'll make up an dopey example. Maybe there's a use for an auto-purchasing tool that waits for a certain time (e.g., the exact release day/time of a new tune) and then purchases the song. Must it be written by scripting iTunes or could it work standalone? Can Apple permit this without a risk to its business?
iTunes is a cross-platform jack of all trades, for purchasing music, organizing music, playing music, handling iPods, interfacing with other iApps, etc. I think it's a very well done application, but it's a shame if the DRM issue prevents the free market from trying to produce a better mousetrap for any of these functions, including interfacing with the store, because what could be an open interface must be closed.

I'm thankful I got Plymouthbreezer - but that was at least 6 years ago.
Anyway, e-mail is an outdated internet technology in my opinion, as there are so many alternative forms of communication (such as webforums, myspace/blogs, and instant message clients) that tend to serve most people as far more convenient.

Well to begin with the Origami is known as Samsung's UMPC and was supposed to be a total secret, which turned out to be the worst kept secret as of recent technologies. And now the reviews of the device are trickling in with ratings that the device is not user friendly and is nothing but a new toy for the "gadget gurus".
So what is the story with this thing? It started out trying to build hype aka Apple... but the truth about it was leaked so fast that no one had time to get excited about it. It really goes to show that you need to delivery something that people will use. You can't introduce technologies that are not finished.
Cause the Origami sounds like a great idea, a mix between a PDA and a laptop, but the timing was off, and therefore the idea will probably die an early death until someone else gives it dedicated attention and does it right (Apple?).

The "point" to all of this is you can walk around without trailing a 6 foot wire behind you.
Duh!!....Ummmmm...... This is the reason why I started the thread, so I could have an iPod, remote, and Headsets WITHOUT WIRES!!

Huh...?
Apple seems to be acting more and more like Gateway and Dell, with their "Hot Deals" or "Double Your RAM" or whatever nonsense marketing has come up with this week.
How about this Apple: You send me the machine with no RAM, give me a $360 rebate, and I'll go to MacMall and get a 512MB of Viking RAM for $99 bucks. At that rate, I can "Double My RAM" for a total savings of $600 under what you're charging.
Just give us an honest rebate, or nothing at all. I'd rather pay top dollar for the new machines than shell out (nearly) full-price for these dusty ole' models.

If I was AOL, I would have done this in a heartbeat as soon as Apple won the right to see the names of the btards that leaked whatever it was.
AOL is just covering it's a$$ and probably every other hosting service is doing the same, most of them just aren't bothering to tell you about it.
m
I think I'll have to read through MSN Messenger's TOS and see what that has to say. I never use AIM anyways.

Nothing new.
I wonder if they are preparing for a release of something for tomorrow?
Now to think of it.. I wonder if Apple would quietly update the Power Mac to get them out of there for an update?
