It sounds like it's going to be online, not a standalone app. Probably Firefox-only.

I don't see how NR is going to be relevant. I bought Rogue Galaxy a couple months back when it was out in the US, so it's not really new any more.

Also can I help?
Yes you can help. We would love for you to help!:D
Now I know what I am going to Say is hard to believe but I am a newbie at things like Folding, so What is it, and is it like a P2P application, and what is it used for...
http://folding.stanford.edu/ Its a little application that uses your extra CPU when you are not using it. So it does not slow down your normal Computer use but it puts that CPU power to use for a good cause. Also this is helpful: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=21908
I like using the our script over the normal client http://calnet.sdsu.edu/mc68k/ it starts it up on startup and makes it so no window is open. We would love for you to join us. We are team 3446. Here is a site with our stats http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=3446.

Well, I've block http://*.aol.*/* so nothing with AOL as the mid-point can be accessed. I wonder what their servers are? - EDIT: Nope, I put it on my firewall block. I hate AOL, a bad bad service!

lol, at my school when ever I come across a computer, I download Firefox and replace the Firefox icon with IE's icon, and rename it Internet Explorer. Most of the kids and teachers don't know the difference and keeps us tech people happy. :D

So this mean the drives are now down at a scale where they can be squeezed into a notebook form factor, in which case maybe seeing a SuperDrive in the next rev of the TiBooks isnt to unrealistic. [/B]
I believe this Sony notebook is over 1.5 inches thick though...maybe even 1.8 inches thick. I could be wrong, but Sony, as well as other PC manufactuers have been making tankbooks... 8-9lbs, 15-16" Screens, HUGE footprint etc. Maybe it will still be hard to get a SuperDrive in a 1" thick notebook, but Apple will do it soon. By the way, the Sony is supposedly available in Japan now. I own a Sony and a Apple...and have no problem liking both.

I love seeing that video, but every time I watch it I wonder...
There's a big chuckle/applause as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a floppy disk. Something that didn't get caught by the camera? Something about the new small 3.5" diskette? Steve reaching into the wrong pocket at first or something?
Huge surge of applause just as the large MACINTOSH letters begin scrolling across the screen to begin the show. Coincided with the MIDI of "Chariots of Fire" dropping into that first deep bass note. Is it just because the show is beginning, or is it a more dramatic 1st-time accomplishment to see a computer that can display a font at that point size and scroll it across the screen like that? Surely not in response to the music alone?!
I had that text-to-speech app, running under System 4. Eons before MacinTalk & the rest of modern text-to-speech. What was the name of that silly little app?
Boy, that audience sure did love the looks of that chess game! What is it with chess games that impress Mac users so much? (The 3D Chess game in OS X was constantly being featured in screen shots, too).
1. I think it was just the way he presented it, the charisma in which he just took it out of his pocket.
2. Yeah i'm guessing the size of font and the fact it's scrolling smoothly. Possibly the epicness of the soundtrack helped add to the illusion.
3. No idea of the name of the app. Sorry.
4. Intellect, maybe?
Great video though!
Rich.

MacCoaster:
(Don't be offended if I repeat myself a few times, I want to make sure everyone gets it. Not trying to say anything about you in particular.)
Anyway, you missed my point. I know very well that the G4 is at a hardware disadvantage. I pretty much said that when you see a G4 being beat by margins greater than 4x or 5x, then you can be pretty sure there is ALSO, note ALSO, a software disadvantage. Hopefully everyone will see what I meant that time. :)
I'm glad to see that many people here agree that the G4 isn't really a faster chip than the x86 competition, but I want to see moderation and understanding of the "benchmarks" that have popped up showing an unbelievably bad situation for the G4.
Remember folks, if the test shows a G4 slower than a P4 per clock cycle then the test probably is handing the software advantage to the P4. Note, for perfect clarity, that I said per clock cycle performance and not overall performance.

They are proabably gonna put G4's in the iBooks in January cause in January they are gonna go OSX only right? It makes perfect sense after you think of it that way.

They already are using it for DRM, to keep circulation of OS X mostly confined to Macintels.
