therefore, who knows when we'll see the firmware, and an update to itunes to encode with it...

the iPod is nothing more than a toshiba HD and apple's iTunes software and little extras. if quicktime can do AAC, then iTunes can do AAC and soon iPod will do AAC. just wait for the firmware

It would be great if we could also have possibly have a team overtake, and who may overtake our team. In addition, something showing the day-to-day output of the team.
Already on the to-do list (see the first post).
I meant to do this at the same time as building in user targets but i'll keep it for the rewritten version. That way you'll have something to look out to. A bit like Christmas indeed. ;)
questions:
About the day-to-day output, what do you mean? Info that is not provided in the team details? In reference to overtaking?

What about all the other members you've seen leave?

Crackdown, along with Saints Row seem like petrol station breaks before the destination.
But have you played crackdown or simpy pre-judging it on what you 'think' it plays like rather than actual experience ?
Remember Crackdown is by the same guy who came up with GTA.
But both should not be compared - but.... as Edge™ put it. CrackDown is where 'freeroaming' should have begun. It's all about the self exploration and free will to do anything and rewarded for doing so - than ANY gta game has done.
Crackdown is more 'fun' than GTA. You are not limited by do missions A, B, C, D, E, F before you can get to next area. It's far more 'free' that GTA has ever been.

I have it, it came with my DVD duplicating tower. I have it installed on my machine and ran it, but I have never used it to burn anything, I just use Toast.
I'll give it a go and write back here.

Hah, the author thinks the software will become fast and usable and it will affect Apple's hardware sales.
It will only ever be as fast as Virtual PC is on the Mac. And Virtual PC is working with open specs and has years and years behind them. PearPC is working with closed specs.
If anything it will always be a little slower than Virtual PC and virtual pc is not fast enough to replace a PC except if you just need one critical windows app. There are no critical mac apps so I don't see how this would affect Apple's sales. If anything it would help them.

Quite interesting...
I heard at the Apple Expo in Paris that Logitech will deliver support for their force feedback devices for Mac OS X. Probably when Feral finally have finished their F1 CE.
Seems very good news to me

The youtube video is IN THIS THREAD, there is exactly what you are looking for in that google link that i provided, need someone to come to your house and input it for you?
Sounds like you have a laziness issue.
Ed
Sorry, didn't see that YouTube link.:o Also didn't get to post my preemptive edit - up now - saying that, yes, I did go to that Google link (even though you should be linking to specific posts), and no, there's nothing at all conclusive there - far from it.
Given your history of making unsubstantiated claims with no proof (Nintendo and the UN are conspiring to make artificial Wii shortages!!), it's perfectly reasonable to ask that you pick out some reputable articles & link to them - not send a Google link and expect us to read whatever crap it dredges up. If I was going to descend to a personal level, I'd say you're the one with the laziness issue - but I'm not, so I won't. :)

That's all fine and well, but I just want a version that doesn't require X11 and can print.
It can't print?! I knew it was limited, but really...an office suite that can't print isn't much use, now is it?

i would fool around and replace my finder with this finder, but i don't want to mess up my system...anyone wanna try? pm me
I see that disk image, too. Notice that the date on it is July 17, the date of the MWNY 2002 Keynote.

5. is BS, the new power supply has 400 watts - 40 more than the last model.
There are also two more drives to support, another optical drive, and increases in bus & processor speeds (yes this takes more watts).
Doesn't sound like overkill to me.
XRaid was pre-announced during the introduction of the XServe, everyone has just been waiting for Apple to officially intro the Raid drive holder.

A 7xxx chip labeled as G5 would be a tragic mistake. And what constitutes a "true G5"? 64-bit? HyperTransport? What?
The truth is, the G5 is whatever Apple (or Moto) calls it.
BTW, if Apple does use a G5 from Moto, it would be a 7xxx chip. You see, Motorola's naming convention dictates that the 2nd number is the "G" number. Therefore, a G5 would be 75xx. Take a look at the roadmap.
