Obviously, Apple will freak (what else is new...), but all this does is provide a shortcut around the burn-to-CD-and-rerip shortcut that's built into iTunes. You still need to buy the music. So, at best, this makes it easier to share music, but it doesn't provide a new capability.
I think it's a great convenience. I'm just saying that the inevitable wrath-of-God response from Apple is somewhat unwarranted.

Here's the exact (translated) text from the site:
According to an American source, that we will keep anonymous, the future of G5 is compromised.
Financial difficulties and of production of Motorola return its exit for difficult January trs.
People from IBM and AMD were seen on several occasions in the buildings of APPLE with Cupertino.
obviously, nothing filtered meetings which were held.
One would however say well that APPLE is actively seeking a substitute in failing Motorola.
So if this is accurate, (probably not) Moto's out and the next chip will be from IBM, AMD or some kind of new chip developed between the three. :)

Its possible you may notice a speed increase! The TiBook probably has a better graphics card then your old laptop so you will get a crisper more responsive screen, also I own a 700mhz G3 iMac and I have a friend who owns a 800mhz P3, the iMac perfoms much faster then his computer. Believe me you will see a speed increase cause the TiBook can hold it own against very fast P4s!
And of course you won't have windows crashing every 3 hours so that will make a big difference in your life.

I've received this 'panic-inducing' email several times over the years, and it looks like it's back again. Has anyone else received this?

Just been reading about this minor hooha.
Microsoft, Yahoo Take A Swipe At Google
High profile employees at Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. say rival Google's complaints to authorities about a supposed unfair Microsoft practice is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. These are relatively new voices to the debate, raging over the last few days in the blogosphere and elsewhere.
The rhetorical salvos results from Google's reported complaints about the new Internet Explorer browser, version 7, from Microsoft, which comes with an embedded Microsoft search engine. One of the problems, Google says, is Microsoft makes it very difficult to swap out this search engine for one from a rival.

Google Cries Foul Over IE7 Search Box
Google has raised objections over Microsoft's plans to integrate its new search engine into Internet Explorer 7, press reports indicate. The company's concerns have even led Google to speak with the Justice Department and the European Commission.
Much like Firefox does with Google, the new version of Internet Explorer will be set up by default to send search queries to MSN Search. Google contends that this gives Microsoft an unfair advantage over its competitors.

And now...
Amazon choose Microsoft over Google
...On Sunday Amazon's contract with Google expired and it has subsequently emerged that the online retailer has adopted Microsoft technology to power its A9 search website, which offers news, web, book and wikipedia searches, and the search facility on the Amazon site.

the first comment, however, was regarding the ibook with 133fsb g3 operating at 700mhz... we'll get a 733.. but then again, who am I to point out the flaws in others posts?
Now that you have explained your post you are absolutely correct. There will never be a 700Mhz G3 on a 133Mhz Bus. The multiplier is all wrong. On the other hand a 800Mhz G3 could work on a 133Mhz bus with a 6x multiplier.

Final Fantasy VI had me feeling for the characters more than any other RPG I've ever played; it really brought a depth to the game that was lacking throughout the entire genre.

Looks like they fixed the things I didn't like: The menu bar now collapses and you can scroll faster. Nice little additions too.

If apple really did make an iPhone, it would be either chrome-ish silver (Pro-Line), or White and chrome (Consumer-Line). Graphite is dead and has been since quicksilver.

Bah, who cares about SD? The only "advantages" it has over MMC are in so-called 'security' which slows down the access speed and is really only good for any corp. involved in anti-piracy measures. For the consumer it has NO advantage, and costs more than MMC. For example, a 512 MB MMC (identical in every way to the SD except in price, 'security' features, and reader firmware) costs something like $400, nearly half the cost of the SD. [/rant]
