I hope that Sony still sell SIXAXIS without rumble if they include it in the controller as I really like it without rumble, it is so much lighter and personally, I find rumble to be annoying more than anything.

The piece is interesting as far as it goes, but I like my gloating without the glaring mistatements of fact.
I second that emotion. Apple lost control of the business market? When did they ever have control?
Still, a useful premise. Apple has pushed Microsoft into areas where they have no particular competencies. Windows from v.1 is a perfect example. Vista is just the latest.

I know the creator of Mytunes says he will never make a Mac version so is there a similar program you can suggest for OSX?

I just got my Dual gig last week. What a buzz kill. I would have waited had I known they were offering ID2. Anyone know if they'll honor it?

I would wait (and in fact I am). It wouldn't hurt to just hang in there for 2 more months to see if this rumoured May Premium price drop and Zephyr model comes true and you might just save yourself a bundle in the process.
Unless you have psychic powers like 2ny, I say wait like mr.Blizzardbomb. We simply don't know what is coming around the corner, there could be a new HDMI model with a larger HDD in the summer, which means the current systems will drop in price.
If that doesn't happen then buy a 360 when Halo 3 hits and get that game bundled with a system.
Remember, if your on a budget then the more you pay for the system the less games and accessories you'll be able to afford.

Yeah, 'cept the eMac.
And the Mac mini, because they don't come with a KB or mouse.
'cept there is no eMac ;)

The iEmulator site admits it's built on top of qemu. What's the big deal here, hm?
From the FAQ:
If that is true, and they abide by the license, then absolutely nothing.
I have no interest in the product, and haven't checked the site out. By the tone of previous comments I got the impression other people felt something shady was going on.

This is all based on previous rumors. Like I said, no one really knows for sure. ;)

depends on what you're doing...dont forget it has twice the L3 cache as the new dual 1 ghz (same L3 cache as old dual 1 ghz) your getting approx. 500 more mhz split between two chips, which in motorola terms is pretty significant. consider it like this...the 1.25 is technically 20% faster than the 1ghz, mhz wise. Factor in the additional L3 cache and you have yourself a beast (though I think a used 1ghz tower with 2mb L3 per chip is the best deal you'll find around)

Do you believe just anything that's written? Unlike Barefeets, these tests were compiled on several Macs and averaged out. Barefeets relied on ONE third hand report. And then others quoted Barefeets like it was gospel. Law of averages and law of means. If you are going to rely on reports verify the source has multiple tests to confirm results for more believable statistics.
Sure you don't have an L3 cache, but as someone else observed there is a faster bus. Everything will tend to balance out in the end.
Regardless of the constraints on the bus, it is faster, and so is the RAM. Run your own tests and come out with your own results, and publish them.

Well I for one think that Myspace is amazing. Its a great way to keep in touch with all my friends outside of school, and plus its something to do if your bored.

I notice that a lot of people have a problem with MySpace and just make comments that it is a bunch of garbage and useless and stuff.
Ok, I'll admit it is an ultimate time-waster, but I wouldn't be surprised that people that bad mouth it actually have a MySpace and only badmouth it cause they're not able to admit they have one (for whatever reason).
Myspace is where all of the teeny bopping douchebags and jocks go to get laid. That all it is. Sure, bands and artists may use it as free publicity, but, C'mon. Why with something so elementry?

I suspect that the conference call (several years ago) went something like this:
Motorola Engineer: "We can deliver Altivec and give you a big speed advantage for a certain small subset of applications."
Motorola Salesman: *pipes up* "This will give you a big marketing advantage."
Apple Guy: "That sounds good. How about you, IBM?"
IBM Engineer: "We could do that, but I think it would be a mistake. The complexity of that unit will likely hogtie the processor's scalability. We could work on it a little more, but don't recommend it right now."
Apple Guy: "Motorola?"
Motorola Salesman: "IBM doesn't know what they're talking about. Our technology must just be better than theirs. There's no way this will slow us down. In fact, we'll beat the pants off of Intel."
Apple Guy: "Sounds good to me."
Motorola Salesman (whispers to Mot engineer): "We can do that, right?"
Motorola Engineeer: *shrugs*

What I can't understand is why you would actually encode something into RealMedia format. Especially for the Mac, as RealPlayer for Mac has never been that great. I don't even have it installed on my machine, and if a website requires it, I simply don't bother visiting. If I really care, I might send them an E-mail suggesting that they use a better format.
Send an email? Now why would you go and do a silly thing like that? The majority of webites stream video on Real format, not having it available for mac makes the mac even less copmatible with the rest of the planet

85C seems high, I have a 17 and a 20 and they fold 24/7 the CPU runs between 145F and 160F, which is about 72C. What's your ambient temperature and what do you use to get the CPU temperature?
If it really runs that hot, I'd be careful too.
