I will be de-boosting my output as I'll be on the road for a couple of weeks and my PowerBook, which has generally been out-performing my dual 800, will be going with me in the car. It's just a good thing that it doesn't produce more so you won't notice the drop much.

I found this one amazing Apple Fact out there on the web:
Bill Gates' house was partially designed using a Macintosh computer.
Google that, its true, I can't believe it! Why wasn't Windows good enough for him to make his own house, huh? Ok, sorry I just had to post that.
did you know apple used to use windows to design their motherboards? why weren't apple computers good enough? because the software only ran on windows! of course, now i don't know where the reference is.

Missed the second reason, which has two parts:
1: There is no guarantee that Windows will boot on an Apple PC86 (without the user hacking the system and thereby voiding their warranty)
2: There is certainly no guarantee that the user will fork over $500 to MS to buy an OS when they already have a perfectly working Apple OS. Yes, some would if they could, but the software developer can't rely on that fact.
Both of which add up to the fact that the developer can't just tell its users to "just boot into Windows" any more than they today can tell their users to "just buy a PC/Mac". If they want the OSX user market, they will have to support OSX.

We only have to pay $120 USD for 2700 167 MHz DDR RAM. Are you sure it's as expensive as you think up there? That sound like way too much more Canadian dollars.

Other than the Sony produced films, is anyone using DTS? All the DVDs I see are in Dolby Digital.
I'm curious who their target market is, is all.

Whaaa? So maybe Dell is only using AMD chips for their servers. Opterons in "high-end four processors models."

It's a shame, however, that Apple will probably never link to this page due to the fact that they are not #1 on the list. The similiarity in performance of the G4 system and the Pentium system speaks highly of the efficiency of the G4 processor.

so even the DDR RAM in the towers and the Xserves isn't fully used to it's full either?
and the reason that TiBooks can't fully use DDR is because of the bottleneck in the processor?
damn, i was starting to get all hyped on DDR...

Let's get to the really important points of all this:
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WASTES SO MUCH TIME DOING THIS?????
I think I need to get a job at Apple is they have so much spare time that they can pull something like that off.

Supposedly, stores are in the works in the Vancouver (Pacific Centre, but possibly in a street level store nearby), Montreal (Le Carrefour Laval), and Calgary (Chinook Centre).
Thanks. That would be great if we got one in Pacific Center.

I gave up on distributed computing shortly after getting a laptop, too. These little babies just aren't made for that constant work. So I'll probably be staying at my 2,671 classic work units for seti@home for a long, long time...

You know how TV tuners require a license? What if I was simply watching previous episodes of the Apprentice on the BBC website? Woudl that require a TV license?
According to the licensing authority, you only need a licence to view online content if the programme is being streamed at roughly the same time as it's being broadcast on television.
As Blue and others have noted though, the licensing authority will doubtless revisit this rule if the BBC make their entire programming output available online.
The obvious solution would be to restrict access to the seven-day archive by using a verified login, which could then be cross-referenced with the TV Licensing database.

Does anybody remember that ghettolicious floor pad for NES? I don't remember what it was called or what games it was used for, I just remember it looked a Twister mat. I'm not hallucinating, am I? They really did make one of those, right?

I'll remain skeptical until I see one but....
black skin, HDMI and a 120gb HDD.... meh.
HDMI ? I dont need it on my 360's and it wont offer any visual improvement over VGA. Other's may find it handy, me.... meh.
120gb HD ? What on earth are people storing ? With very little movie / video content for Europe and the ease of streaming music or ipods plugging into your 360 - I really dont need that much unused storage in my 360.
Maybe it's for IPTV ? But I doubt I'll be seeing that in Ireland this year and especially given our relativly slow BB speeds.
Integrated Wifi should really have been there - but just as Sony drop the 20gb machine - so they have 1 SKU - Microsoft preps for 3 ? madness.

What did you mean by nope? All I said is that when he's doing his demos that he's been using the ATI9700. Also what do you mean that they wish they would switch to RDRam or at least DDR? DDR400 due out by early next year shows a significant advantage over the fastest RDRam which is technically maxed at the moment. Not to mention the insane licensing fees that RDRam has.
