So I have not seen my 360 on my network since Friday :(
That leads me to believe they either noticed the wireless adapter was connecting to a network and unplugged it or they got rid of the system. The investigator came back out today and said they need more evidence before they can get a warrant and he doesn't want to knock on the doors of the two houses I think it could be in case they do still have it and decide to ditch it when the cops are on to them.
So basically, I don't have much hope any more of getting my system back. I am thinking of calling the cops and having them just knock on the door and see what happens. Maybe the people are stupid and have the system sitting in plain view and the cops will notice it when they try to question the neighbors.
I'm going to check out my local EBGames again and see if they have anyone that traded in any of my games or even the system.

I cleared my cookies and it took my to the US homepage auto matically and my browser froze. :( I hope they leave the Canadian site without video on start up. I have fast internet but my current PC is only a mere 700Mhz AVG Athlon. :( *waits for MacBooks(haha I typed boobs at first)*

Battery life isn't really important because 99% of people run their notebook off of A/C, not battery.

With any luck, 3 months more and we'll see $200 off on the rest of the models too.:D

I saw the coolest stickers in a Nintendo magazine the other day. Just put the stickers on the Wii and the Motes and you have a classic Nintendo. They looked really sharp and worked well. Wish I had pics....that was a mod I might do. Make everything look old school...

mdouglas, if you can, I would cancel the order. Both laptops will be updates really soon (they are good now - but, I would want the updated models). You might as well wait a while + get a nice new ibook with a 32Mb Graphics card, faster G3.

That actually seems like a really great place to work,....
No way. I'm a bit claustrophobic and the cables would make me go crazy!

Dual G5 folding here. Hopefully we will gain some ground when Mac Pro is out ;)
Im curious; has anyone any statistics on how much energy is being used world-wide on folding?

Whoever ran across this one, thanks for the news submission.
Will check out the g5 version tonite, and the g4 version later.
If it crashes a lot, it won't be any different from the 'normal' OS X version, so I won't mind-- I'll take the daily FF crashes (in OS X but not XP strangely) any day over sluggish camino and safari.

I keep seeing people relate this chip to the Power4 in a negative way. I have not read anywhere (besides these forums) that this chip is a stripped down version of the Power4. Its design is based on that chip, but it seems as though it is an entirely new design in itself. Does anyone have and documentation saying that it is a stripped down Power4 chip, and that its performance is going to reflect that? This chip seems to be a successor to the Power4 not a low price alternative. Please correct me if I am wrong and point me to the documents you are getting this information from. Maybe I am just too optimistic;)

Doc (http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Apple.AS.&OS=AN/Apple&RS=AN/Apple)
It's accompanied by a picture which I'll link to below. The only reason it's interesting is that the diagram clearly shows 2 trackpad buttons. The patent also talks in great detail about cooling which could be an indicator of a faster processor.
If you're very bored (like me) you'll scan throu some of the other patents and there are clear some for spring loaded folders and what I reckon to be iSync.
It would seem unlikely that all the cooling relates to the current PowerBook as I believe that this would require a case redesign (shame, I like the look of the Ti-Book, mines awesome).
Anyway, that's just a little something for people to chew over.

i couldn't see picture, but a new apple powerbook and a new apple consumer laptop are guaranteed, it is just a matter of when...next year? two years? five years?
high end laptops are easy to call powerbook, but what would apple call its next major/radically different consumer laptop?
i still vote for the name "ibook"...even if the next major ibook machine has dual g4s and a superdrive and goes faster than 1.2 ghz and sports a titanium shell
...at that point, powerbook will have a g5
i would never want to see any future apple laptop be called the 800 series or an AP/Ltp-1A model :p

just type "work" in the terminal and it should work.....unless you have done a upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3 then you might have problems.

Yesterday was my official 2-year anniversary for folding.
314,000 points isn't too bad considering the limited number and limited power of my machines...at least by modern standards. My current production is low, and my rank has been dropping, but I am still pretty happy with the sheer amount of work I've contributed.
Not tooting my own horn, just wanted to mark the occasion. Congrats to all of you who are passing me...keep it up!
Super! :D
I was a member with SETI one and ended up over 12,000 wu's. Now that SETI one is over, I've been wondering what to do with my spare CPU time.
Appreciate your post to get me thinking about Folding.

It's amazing how mature 2.0, and how mature ID is on the whole, when you consider it hasn't been out for that long.
I really think some hacker at Adobe has a mail forwarding system working, taking all of the customer suggestions from Quark and sending it to Adobe HQ.
Hence ID. Obviously Quark wasn't, hasn't and will never listen.
Cheers to a slow and painful death for Quark!
I got to see Belly for free here in 1994, and was right up in front of Tanya Donnelly. Darn is she hot!
I envy you.
I was going to go see Julianna Hatfield, but something happened and I wound up not going. They did a Kick*** remake of the "Josie and the PussyCats" theme song together.
Oh yeah, Quark still sux.

Hey Duke, it seems you're wondering the same things as me. I did ask Shrek before as I'm just interested as he's of a similar age to me so I wanted to understand where his thoughts come from. I do love the enternal optismism though, it's a refreshing change to all the doom and gloom about.
I think the basic idea is sound enough and that it attempts to mimic the current situation of G4s and G3s. However from a marketting stand point you don't want to be calling to completely different chips the same thing. People get easily confussed and these forums clearly display this. The PowerMacs are a flagship for a reason. I don't know any manufacturer who puts their highest performing parts in their midrange machines (even for a month or two). I understand Shrek's logic and in essence the idea is ok but in practise it would never work.
Here's another though, the ibook and PowerBook (maybe imac and emac) will get speed bumps in the near future before the OS 9 restrictions are imposed, thus if this switch is hardware imposed in gives Apple a clear Window to start with introducing new PowerMacs and then filter in the other products in good time.
