i have the og ipod. mechanical wheel and all
i liked how it spins.
now it spins too much. if i tilt it to one side or the other, the wheel sometimes spins (thus either blasting my ears out or turning the volume to 0). it's annoying.
the touch wheel is something i didn't really grasp til i touched one. it's quite smooth... plus, i'm guessing the newer hard drives and overall build will just be improved (firewire port cap, etc)
i think i'd go with the 10.
the 5 is not enough for my music anymore either... but then again, i can always just swap out stuff.... or steal my girlfriend's 10 gb... hmm..
20 gb is good if you have the cash. though i don't think the few megs used up by contacts/calendars would sway me to get it... however, the fact that hard drive space is always useful would. if i had 500 to spend..

Since it's free, I'll try it out, and if there are are sync problems... no biggie. If not, then I've got something sweet for nothing.
Well, you've got something that will be sweet for 10 minutes, which is how long the audio signal remains clear if you don't pony up the $25 to buy the program. Without buying the software, the signal begins to degrade at 10 minutes, getting progressively worse over time. At least, according to the info on the web site (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/) .

Is it supposed to be a hardware fix and a new edition of the PS3 or will it be some sort of firmware fix.
Has the current PS3 even got a proper hardware scaler ? If not it will have to be hardware update.

A very good read. To the above commenters, this should be put on a Wiki so that others can contribute. It would certainly an excellent start to a very good wikipedia article!
A very good read, very enjoyable.

Well that sounds very positive. There's something reassuring about Apple having laid its cards out on the table, and I'm pretty sure that must be the reason for the spike as you say. I believe that this is just the start though - I'm looking forward to a whole world of new gismo's that the Intel transition will make possible!

Don't get me wrong, i would REALLY love to see new PowerBooks within a month, and I think they are due, as well... But Apple currently has three specials on PowerBooks, none of which end before Dec 31. In light of this how can one expect a PowerBook upgrade before then?

I think it looks pretty awesome personally. As a student, not having office makes things a lot more difficult. I'm looking forward to this release. :)

It increases piracy actually...
If you think about it, not everyone here would, but if you can buy a program for like $10 or $15 bucks and you search for it on google and a serial pops up, you wouldn't use it?
Using activation for some people will result in more piracy... dropping $1000 for the CS2 or cracking it for free...
It is so easy now to get the codes on the internet.
And 1000 bucks for a piece of software is a LOT for me, but maby not for people who make a living out of it

I really wanted to like konfabulator.
but it is S L O W.
Dashboard is 10000000x better, because it doesn't eat up my system resources.
Apple came out with a better product, and I am tired of Arlo whining.

I do it to heat my room... oh, and cure stuff too. ;)
haha, that is so true! I had a much smaller bedroom last year, and I swear when I had my iMac folding it made the room a couple degrees warmer.

If it is real, it's an e-book reader / notepad.
Apple's language always means something.
It's a great missing component to the digital lifestyle devices for the academia. It's small, it folds open like a book so it doesn't become unwieldy. It's perfect for students to take notes, and a great way to reduce the amount of books and notebooks you have to carry around. I bet it sends email and has internet access (via Airport), and has a CD burner in it as well.
Text input is done via Inkwell, just like one would take notes in class.

No, it only affects Office v.X. The security flaw is not present in Office 2004.
Right, that's versions v.X and 2001. Sorry.
EDIT: I shouldn't have been so quick to say that. Office 2004 does contain the flaw, the patch is in Service Pack 1 as described in KB #883951 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=883951#13)
Also an update to fix the flaw is now available from Microsoft.
Link already provided above.
