Yo everyone, how is it going? I am a business man who needs to travel a lot. Now I am trying to find some software that can download maps on my cell phone. Can anybody give me some information about it? So far I know that Nav4All from Netherlands does not cost you much. Does anyone know this product? Thx!

Just wondering what everyone thinks might be released or updated at MWSF. Does anyone think that the PowerMacs will get an update by that time? I'm pretty sure the new PowerBooks will be released by then, and definitely a new 19" lcd (maybe even an update to the entire line?)
Personally I'm shopping for a PowerMac but I don't wanna buy it today and then come MWSF an updated version comes out. Do you guys think this will happen?
Anyways, let me know what you guys think, and what you guys expect and/or are hoping for when MWSF comes rolling into SF's Moscone Center (its literally across the street from my office :D).

i think the introduction of macfan and ovi coming into the political forums have been memorable...man, so many posters jumped all over them for possibly their conservative views
but when bttm speaks up with similar conservative views, people don't dump on him

What is blank screen mode? I don't run mine in screensaver mode, I turn it on and set my computer to stay on and just shut off my monitor.
**edit**
And I'm pretty sure that seti units are always the same size, its folding ones that aren't.
Yes, they are all the same size but the amount of processing required to complete the task differs from unit to unit.
My G5 did a work unit in 45 mins one time. On average it takes less than 2 hours / unit :D. The command line app would be even faster.
I don't run it any more as it apparently rips hard drives and I couldn't be bothered setting up the RAM disk method. It also turns my G5 into a bit of a wind tunnel some times.

I used to play on 1.52 g4 mini with 512 ram. Hooked it up to a 61" HD tv. It ran, but really laggy in cities. Pretty much had everything turned down.

Did you read the post "a sad day at the garden" on their forums? All the games were deleted by accident.
Apparently not. :)

The iMac is starting to show its age. It's processor hasn't seen an improvement in months. The video card is uncapable of performing on par with today's standards. So, what will the next revision of the iMac bring? Here are a few key items that we'll probably see in the next revision:
Faster Processors
We'll probably see something in the 900-1100MHz range. Although a slight improvement, it's improvement. Also rumored is the move to a 133MHz system bus, and hopefuls are wishing for a L3 cache.
Video Card Upgrade
With the Radeon 9000 recently released, the iMac could easily see an upgrade in the graphics department. The Radeon 9000 is the best budget video card in existence.
Display Changes
The 17" display might be moved into a second iMac, giving us only one 15" option and two 17" options. The rumored phasing out of the 15" LCD has significant evidence to support itself.

..whats the point since your are there allready? annoying.
Kind of reminds me of how the "manual" that came with os x.1 was an advertising pamphlet. I was like, I already bought the damn thing thanks, you don't have to try to sell it to me again.
Apple continues to disagree however.

I actually like the one button mouse to a point. My whole family (immediate family of 8) are pc users except me and my brother. And you know what, only one uses the second button regurally and that is only for games. Hell, even my GF, a recent switcher never used the second button. The truth is, most PC users, except pro users, use the second button.
That being said, once one gets used to the second button, its hard to go back. Ask any mac user who has switched from a one button mouse and I bet they wouldn't go back.
One last thing, every standard mouse I used with a PC, I didn't enjoy. When I was a PC user, I ended up going out and buying a better mouse anyway, so I just see it as part of the computer world.

The halo effect refers to the massive success of the iPod, a dark shadow eclipsing the light of the Mac platform, which can now only be seen dimly around the edges of the iPod fad.
(No, that wasn't serious either. People expect iPod fans to eventually try Macs too. That's the halo effect and I'm all for it. I'm all for iPod success even without that too--it hardly hurts the Mac for Apple to succeed with the iPod. And the halo effect could be even better with IT: eventually if Macs make their job easier and they can find a way to stay useful without fighting MS problems, then sometimes they can pretty much TELL a lot of people--even CEOs--what they're going to get. Macs! Then the halo spreads home when those people--however small a segment--like the Macs they use at work. "Eventually" is the key word in all this!)

Let's see.... why President Carter today???? This news is a few days old.
Why did shipping times for imacs, ibooks and powerbooks change overnight from 7 to 10 days to 1-2 days as posted today?
Are stocks of new products now in warehouses?
I hope so.
Does the posting of President Carter and the revival of "Think Different" have something to do with new products?
I hope not!

Pretty good deal if you ask me! The apple sales people annoy me sometimes- they insist their not trying to sell extras to you, but they are

Oof. That sucks. Try to find a .ini or some kind of config file of some sort and try to change some parameters. I am not 100% sure of this idea, but I assume that's how people have gotten it to work on a MacBook.
Your best chance is probably to look for PC gamers that have managed to run it on below system requirement systems. Maybe there's something out there on Google, assuming your claim about playing this on a MacBook are true.

I've had the program running for many days now -- and it claims it will take another 8 days to complete a WU on a 1GHz G4.
This seems insane to me somehow.

I just placed my order for a dual 867 and 17" lcd last week so hopefully nothing new will come out for a while!
Unless of course Apple wants to upgrade my order (but I could use the $200 MIR)
I like the 17" lcd, but using programs that are designed for widescreen monitors like FCP and iMovie it kind of sucks as there's a lot of wasted space.
However, the looks alone make up for it.
