I don't believe the TechCrunch story. http://www.en.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/blum3.gif
Wasn't there a rumor that Apple was going to hold a public event in April to demonstrate iOS 5.0 for the first time and it will be released in July at the same time that the iPhone 5 reaches retailers?

All of these companies are interconnected. They support each other when it's beneficial, they attack when it's beneficial. The "wars" between game consoles, HD discs, and other competitions make strange bedfellows...
They know it is just business, not personal.

This is good news with the new imacs on the way this should tie everything together nicely.

No iMac update (but added expectation of one with the pro-sumer-sized 'gap' people have commented on) is good news for my wallet and my patience.

how about this for a scenario
quiet release of C2D MB/MBP at the start of the expo - similar to the imac/mac mini
then his steveness can deliver the full its showtime reel at the special event.
announce movie store, with ipod updates, and full ipod video as 'one more thing'
I think its fair to assume at this stage no macbook/pro updates will be shown tomorrow. All they do is distract from the media/ipod announcements. best you can hope for is a quiet refresh towards the end of this week.

Sarcasm online is fun. But you do realize this is correct for software or other media, and not true for hardware. Right?
You own the piece of hardware, but you only have a license that gives you the right to use the software that is required to operate the hardware.
The catch, is unlike computers - the hardware in many new devices (phones, routers, TVs, etc), is highly proprietary and the manufacturers of the chips refuse to release any white papers/information sheets on how to program for the chip.
In other words, you couldn't port Linux to the iPhone if you wanted to. Apple could pull a page out of Motorola's book and make a chip that bricks itself in the face of unsigned, 3rd party hardware.
Look at the depths Sony is going to in order to keep people from Linux on the PS3 now.
In a sense, you really DON'T own the hardware in these situations. Frankly, I'm surprised Apple even bothers to sell iPhones, they should just put them out on 2 year leases and then claim the phone back at the end.

In my opinion-
48/2(9+3) = 288
48/(2(9+3)) = 2
To make it clear you could write it with ( ... )^-1 like a real man! :D
By adding the second set of (), you changed the equation, therefore the two different answers. As written in the original way, the answer 2 is clearly wrong.

Does anyone read the stories before commenting on them anymore?
You didn't even need to click to read the full story.
I was thinking the same thing as you... :(
It may be too late already though, did any other repos get the package?

add me to another purchaser of android phone. i myself have iphone. i wanted to buy a smartphone for a family member. considered iphone but one thing that drove me away from iphone was the requirement of a pc to activate it. no such requirement for android.
They will activate it for you in store so that shouldn't have been an issue.

This can be done quite cheaply, if Apple doesn't use off the shelf PC components - which is why current tablet PCs are so expensive. An Intel ULV processor is not cheap.
Huh? COTS components are *always* cheaper than custom components.
Shame that Apple moved away from the PowerPC really, when it comes to applications such as this [snip] a 30GB 1.8" hard drive (same as iPod)
Yes, it's a shame that they moved away from the PowerPC, but it was pretty clear that IBM was going to put all its consumer-level processor research on the Cell, and the Cell would have been a whole different kettle of fish for Apple. However, I've been told that using my iPod as a boot drive with any kind of regularity is a bad idea - that the 1.8 inch drives aren't sturdy enough for that kind of constant wear. For flash memory, you get all the reads you want, and the write limits are comparable to a hard drive. I also think that you'd want to use separate non-flash volatile RAM (integrated video would use the RAM as well as running applications), and not just use flash for working memory.

wow! so much anger!?
I saw this coming since Apple announced the A4. If there is one thing Apple likes, it's control. That is exactly what they get with the A4/A5 processors.

So I thought... Would apple release a phone-only? No chance. It will most definitely have music features including wireless downloads from the iTMS (including a way to put the songs on your computer)... If this rumor is true of course.
My hope is for the phone to work on the Nextel / Sprint network not just because I have a Nextel, but because they have had time with their walkie-talkie feature, and I'd imagine that that would benefit the use of something like iChat over the phone.
Ah well, only a little over a week till the big day!

find me a Tablet that costs less than a small notebook. No, you won't find it, sorry...
<snip>
And where are the tablets? NOWHERE, because they only fit the bills of us freaks desiring a nice pen-based Mac...
<snip>
Construction companies have used PDAs for years, including the Newton...and that's why a mere evolution of such products is more than enough.
You may have to consider that when there's a rumour "Apple is making a tablet".... that they may be making something that is not a pen-based Mac, and hence is cheaper than a small notebook. It may even be an evolution of the Newton.
You seem to spew a lot of reasons that tablets haven't worked in the past. I agree if Apple does the same as other tablet makers have in the past, it won't work. But I think we all agree with that don't we?
ps. No point abusing others' ideas.

Ugh, I don't want to wait till fall for IPhone 5. On VERIZON! holy crap I'm excited
How about an Iphone 4? it did seem a little suspicious releasing a vz iphone 4 in feb when a new phone coming in june. It would not surprise me if they did release in june. I myself bought an Iphone 4 as i could not wait, either way people are going to be unhappy... those who bought an iphone or those who choose to wait.
So I guess 2011
So much for the year of the Ipad 2, Maybe the year of Ipads

When the Intel switch was a rumor, everyone was calling shenanigans..
I'm not saying this rumor is true, but I am saying "never say never". They are Apple, they will make it work no matter what processor they go with. :)

Apple needs to replace the optical drive with another AMD GPU, and Crossfire them sexy beasts up. Gone will be the days of Macs that can't run every game in existence at max settings.
A beefier CPU and High end GPU would be more beneficial than a second GPU. Even modern game engines still don't properly utilize two graphics cards unless the individual developers do custom optimisation.

MacRumors is keeping up with this obvious error. I doubt Lion will be ready even by the WWDC. A summer release is what I predict.
Thanks Captain Obvious... I think that is what Apple said at the very beginning ;)

this is probably old news but meh, what the hell:

Nobody else seems interested, so they must have already seen it, but I have not. That's pretty interesting.

You'd think they'd want maybe to put more capabilities into expanding the GPU power to help with OpenCL and GCD - we'll see, but wouldn't a Mac Pro mountable rack or a new Xserve version want this?

The good news is that it sounds like the plant wasn't damaged. While I am sure making batteries for Apple is not on the top of their priority list, their economy starting back up will help speed their recovery. A little bit of good news I hope.

The galaxy tab looks like a cheap knockoff of the 3G, look at the pics comparing them in the article. As I stated, at first look my mum thought the samsung was an iPhone. To the general public they look extremely similar, thus why this is happening.
Despite the design differences mentioned earlier and massive difference in size they're identical then?
What would you and Leguna have Samsung do to the Galaxy Tab to make it less "identical"?
