Well, it's a time bug... if you switch back your system's clock to the serial will work.
Tried it before. Doesn't solve anything.

I guarantee these guys know more about apple computers than the people who work at that apple store.
which, to all who have applied to no avail, we all know is the saddest thing...
EVER!

I love Konfabulator. One of the few small apps I didnt mind paying for.
Too bad Apple didn't include Rose, and just integrate Konfabulator into Tiger. But, business is indeed "dog eat dog".
At least I can carry the legend on with my PC ;)
hey...I wonder if our registration for the mac version will be the same, or if windows users will have to purchase it all over again?
EDIT
I've just downloaded it and installed it on my PC. It's EXACTLY the same as the Mac version. I love it. This was a very smart move, and I couldn't be happier about it. :)

this is probably the smartest thing said on this thread.
i'm willing to bet apple has intel-based prototypes, on custom motherboards, that they constantly test on. and if those machines were actually 2-3x as fast as the PPCs (as the MHz ratio leads some people on this site to believe), why wouldn't they switch?
given what dave marsh said, it wouldn't matter if it's Intel, or AMD, or Bob's Chip Consortium, 'cuz Apple would treat is as just another piece in their h/w offering.
let's separate the ideas of "using Intel" and "windows compatible."
THAT said, let's not forget how painful of a process it would be, waiting for all the app vendors to port their code. apple would make it easier for them by offering something like Carbon, but hey, haven't we suffered enough waiting for vendors to move to OSX?

Hmmmm, also. I was looking over the most popular extensions, and saw that there was one which had gestures. It sounded cool, like jerk the mouse left and it'll go back a page, or make a circle and reload the page... but it didn't seem to work, or at least on OSX when I tried it :(

Yeah, Apple needs to get rid of that. I'm just plain avoiding visiting Apple's main page until they change it.

How long (on average) does a WU take to complete? It seems to take a good 10 hours for me.

You spent two days digging up what I posted in the first reply and linked to?
It was only one day (I got to the party a bit late), and if you read carefully, what I posted says something different than what you posted. Relax.

I emailed this to rob-art morgan on Saturday :
I know the test was to find out how similarly clocked G4, Athlon and Pentium 4 chips perform but I was wondering if it was possible for you to test against the 2 fastest Intel and AMD chips ?
The price of both a 2Ghz Pentium 4 and 1.6Ghz Athlon PC put's it in the same range as the entry level eMac and that's assuming the PC is built using high quality drives and components. This is true for the UK at least.
I'd suggest the following systems, I don't know the details of motherboards or specific RAM configurations but going off cpu speed and the fastest availble RAM for the systems these 3 configurations would make for a fair "high end mac" vs "high end PC" comparison :
Dual 1.25Ghz, stock HD, stock graphics card, 1Gb of 333Mhz DDR SDRAM, OS 10.2.1
Athlon XP 2200+, 7200 rpm HD, same video card as the mac, 1Gb of 333Mhz DDR SDRAM, Windows XP Professional
2.8Ghz Pentium 4, 7200 rpm HD, same video card as the mac, 1Gb of 533Mhz RDRAM, Windows XP Professional
He responded with this :
That's a great suggestion. I'll try to get that arranged.
In the mean time, I'm working on a Pentium 4 2.53MHz + GeForce4 Ti 4600 versus G4 1.25GHz *2 + GeForce4 Ti (4600) comparo.
I can just see the look of disappointment on everyone's faces when the dual 1.25Ghz mac is slapped silly by both windows systems at practically everything.
Call me a pesimist but concidering how it's scrapped by when compared with lower end cpus I can see a thorough G4 thrashing coming up on barefeats very soon.

All I can say is it probably won't run better then Virtual PC 7. . . At a price that cheap im sure its even inferior to VPC7.

Well it's definitely not beyond the realm of possibility, but just because Sony did it doesn't mean Apple's gonna do it anytime soon.
As someone mentioned, the VAIO is considerably thicker (4 cm to Powerbook's 2.6 cm). If I remember correctly, they had CDRW-DVD combo drives in notebooks (including the iBook) long before Apple was able to fit in a SLOT-LOADING burner into the TiBook.
So for the TiBook, you're gonna have to find a burner that's:
1. slot-loading
2. thin enough
I've yet to see any manufacturer meat EITHER of these requirements...

Adobe has set the way we do photo editing anymore, creating a Universal standard sounds like they know which way they're heading in the real world. JPEG has been around a long time, so if they can do a better job at compression and realistic looking pictures, then I say go for it, but if its just a few changes and an extra extension then why do we need it.

A little break from the wars, Frag Time!
Playing "Gears of War," "Lost Planet," "Halo" and other action video games that involve firing guns can improve your eyesight, new research claims.
Sedate games like "Tetris" don't work.
The study involved 10 male college students who started out as non-gamers and then received 30 hours of training on first-person shooter action video games.
They showed a substantial increase in their ability to see objects accurately in a cluttered space compared to 10 non-gamers given the same test, said Daphne Bevelier of the University of Rochester.
