On a daily basis I use 3 computers:
iBook - When at work I use it for my personal email, chat, web, listen to music and watch dvds. And for my personal photography and web stuff for on-location photo shoots or when visiting my parents.
Dell Optiplex something something - My work computer, mainly for Photoshop and Web stuff.
iMac - My home computer for everything... photo, video (not really... but soon :p), web (browsing and creating websites), email, chat, music, etc etc
I'm actually quite happy with my setup.

I don't flame, so don't flame me, prick. Since you work at apple and know that apple won't have anything to do with the power5, then we will all bow down and give you a little kiss.
second I never said anything about the power5 being an apple chip for sure or not... if you would read my clarification i said that he was discussing the powerX chips altogether and stating that the power4 lite was a done deal with apple. since the PPC 970 doesn't exist yet, maybe they still refer to it as the power4 lite.
just for you prick i'll give you the conversation more or less word for word:
"so X (with a smile) when you gonna give me the word on those power4 lite chips you guys are selling to Apple?"
"it's a DONE DEAL MAN"
"seriously?!"
"yep"
"we're already on to other things.... have you heard about the power5?"
"no but what about the power4?"
"apple's already on the way... DONE DEAL... but have you heard about the power5 in development?? i wish i could use them in our 3D workstations, but as of yet they cant run windows... but we'll see."
"that's awesome!!! i can't wait for the macs with the power4 in them, i'll just get my PowerBook now and then get my desktop sometime next year!!"
"yeah, i'm hoping we can run them in our linux boxes"
the conversation continues about linux IBM boxes and how linux users are liking OS X and etc, etc.
Hope this helps,
sorry i had to do it the long way for som jerk that instantly wants to insult someone tryin to give some good news to the loyal-in-waiting-fellow-mac-users....
later,

i really am not a jerk like this normally sorry for the attitude!!!:) :(

I get what you mean, but I don't think it's the best analogy. ;)
First Jobs has to massacre thousands of people??
Yeah, see the difference? :p
But I do get it's basis... not a bad thought, in the regard you mentioned. :)

I disagree. It's not worth it to spend $5 on media that I can't re-write.
With an external HD, as long as you perform regular backups, you'll always have a copy of your work somewhere. You don't really expect two seperate drives (especially if one is external) to go kaput at the same time?
...I could however see myself crushing 4GB of DVD data as it rests at the bottom of my backpack...

Maybe it is a chip that takes a whole bunch of power, so they are making up for it by using 2 batteries. A 1.2 GHz tiBook would definitely not have too long of a battery life, unless it had 2 batteries. Good eye.

^ I heard that one in Montreal on Rue St. Catherine is in the works.
EDIT: Just noticed that you're from Vancouver. My news above doesn't really help you does it? I'm sure Vancouver will get its own Apple Store soon enough.

This thread is bunk. 2.2ghz Powerbooks? First dibs at CompUSA?
Sure that's going to happen. It's only a matter of time until this thread is closed.

I would go with a Mac after Leopard comes out. PS3 is fun but computer much more versatile.
I think it comes down to.
Do you want a computer or a console?

God made us what we are today. In the future, we will go back in time to visit ourselves. In the future, we will look like aliens (evolution.) We might go back so far to aid/improve in our creation. We will become God. Its one big, vicious circle. Aliens made us what we are today.
God = Alien = Us
how people who have no experience or understanding of the underlying reality of the world are able to pull **** like this out of there arses and state it as fact is beyond me.

I think Microsoft is using hard drive capacity against the PS3. 120 GB vs. 60 GB. What are you going to choose? Ignoring BluRay (and it's likely consumers will ignore BluRay), this may appear to be the better buy at quick glance especially with an online media store behind it.
I hope this would mean a price drop on the Premium box, but I'm guessing not :(
If the Elite went at a 399 price point and the Premium takes the 299 price point, it would be a glorious day :) But, it's not going to happen anytime soon. "Late-summer or fall" at best doesn't help me.

And I know I'll hate the fan and the space consumption. But the cube is a lot more expandable than the emac or the imac.

Finally. I'll be testing it tonight and posting a full report. The 0.10 version was where I started and that had ISSUES... but the .11 has been almost flawless. I'll go grab 0.12.

(btw... i thought SSX Blur would be really really good and it's ok but not that great at all.)
Yeah me too. The small video previews on the net make it look better than it does when its full size on your tv screen, and it plays like ..... meh ......
It's not awful, just utterly utterly average in every regard. 6/10 kind of game.
Oh and I always thought the godfather games just looked crap on all formats.

Nothing new going on for the past few days. Someone is connecting to XBox Live with my account but it is no longer on my wireless network. I'm getting the feeling that my 360 is no longer in my neighborhood. :(
They still haven't actually played a game on the system though...
On a side note, EBGames called and said they are doing a midnight release for Guitar Hero 2 on the 360. I'm very upset that I won't be able to play it for a while except for at a friend's house.
