thanks to the OP and the ppl who are giving suggestions, I beleve that something will happen, the police will catch them. if not for the OP loosing their 360, everything these brats stole would never return to the original owners. All it needs is time and a bit of luck, like the connecting to the OP's network, how silly of them to access something from the scene of the crime! ;)

It does look kind of white in that orange-background picture. But if you go to the website mentioned in the materials (www.apple.com/go/enjoyyourself), it is silver/aluminum...

So the previous "beta" releases on the Mac were just alphas? Interesting. How long has Opera 8 been in the making? I am surprised that they're already releasing it, but maybe it just feels short.
*downloads Opera 8.00b1*

The first alpha was posted on Jan. 7, so I'm not sure that this is a "short" job or anything. Opera for Mac snapshots (http://snapshot.opera.com/mac/)
First significant bug - can't install skins anymore. However, I can log into VersionTracker now.

The intent of this post was not to describe my experience but rather to pose a question. With the assumption that I would like to play alone as much as possible, is there a race and class combination that would suit me best? Also, are there certain professions or talents that would be best to concentrate on? I am not very familiar with professions or talents as I only dabbled in the game a bit last night. I want to avoid getting 40 hours into the game and realizing that I have picked a race and class that are heavily dependent on others.
Well, any class will be enhanced by grouping (especially when it comes to buffs), but you can solo your way through the game on pretty much any class. It's just some make it easier than others. For instance, my main when I played was a priest, and being holy specced for most of my run-up to 60 was probably a bad idea. That was not a fun character to solo with (though I GREATLY enjoyed end-game raid healing). I hear speccing shadow makes soloing much more tolerable. The rogue I took to 36 though, he was a lot of fun to solo (especially when enhanced by twinking him out w/ equipment purchased with gold from my 60). Problem with rogues is that there are a ****ton of them by the endgame, so if you have any interest in late-game raids you'll probably have a harder time getting into a guild. Healers are always in demand, but less fun to play up to 60.
Then again, you're more about the solo experience, so. I'd say a warrior would probably be equally fun on your own, but I've never played one myself. Rogue and priest are the only classes I played to any significant degree (which is to say above level 15).

Why would the processor trigger it? It's the same processors as before except the 1.25s and I don't think they put out that much more heat.
I do think you will see hot swappable drives but not in the fassion one would think. When the next version of Firewire comes out I see internal drives eventually using it. So that will make them hot swappable.

All Files on All Drives unless you specify otherwise in the control panel. Pardon me, System Preferences Panel. Been using Macs too long, I still call em CDEFs.
Thanks. :)
Preordered Tiger from Amazon.co.uk tonight and ordered some new Seagate 300gb drives... am looking forward to giving my Mac a face-lift.

I ordered my 1.25 the day they were released from a good friend of mine who sells to Dreamworks and Disney. It will be here on or before Friday. I am so excited. See, I've had everything else set up for the past month, cinema display, NTSC monitor, reciever and such, and they've just been driving me crazy.

I don't think it's stolen at all. The ichat icon and those look the same but really aren't, even the basic shape is different, and anyone with photoshop can make a glassy looking icon.
It does look mind-bogglingly similar though...
Still, I can't imagine there being any cause for litigation or whatever...

Sounds useful--but OS X will do encrypted SparseImages for free, without much loss of convenience. And they change size dynamically. And they make a Mac volume even on a Windows-format iPod.

Looks like a collector's item as only a few will be made.
I was blessed enough to get an XBox Halo Edition when it came out.
But, something like this will be tons harder to get, as most will be bought by eBay sellers...

i have a 15" flat and 19" crt and i'm doing fine. 15" flat is my main monitor with the other being my canvas for stuff....

What level of HD are you talking full HD or one of the lesser form like 720p, 1080p etc..
They are supposed to have HD DVDs out by the end of next year on less then a 30GB disc. At what level of resolution is yet to be seen.

is Skype as good as its hype, or even half as good as its hype?
I've read in Skype-crazy blogs that Skype is supplanting text IM in many businessworld circles. Is that true? Or just in certain communities?
also:
1) what is 56K performance
2) how hard is it *really* to pay for, and dial from skype to phone?

I remember looking at iMacs a few weeks ago for my Mom and I remember the CD-RW one being $1299, the Combo drive being $1499, Superdrive-$1799 (you got me there) and 17"-$1999.
The only one I see changed is the Superdrive one. :)

AMD is in a similar case right now. Many people are turning away from AMD to Intel simply because AMD sucks now. So AMD is trying to get their ass together to innovate further. Thus giving us faster and faster CPUs from both AMD or Intel. Competition is good. Apple needs to compete more aggressively.

I chose "NO: I don't really care" because, honestly, I don't. I could have picked "NO: I am concerned but will let others punish them" but I suppose what's closest to what I really feel is "NO: I don't really care because others will punish the OEM suppliers if need be."
I think it's naive to assume that any other manufacturer doesn't use OEM suppliers which do the same thing. I won't stop buying Apple products because of it. If they were grinding small children up to make the casings or whatever, then, yes, maybe I'd care, but, as it stands, nothing I do will stop those workers from being abused by that company. If I stop buying Apple and buy some other supplier's system, then I have no proof whatsoever that such a purchase will in any way reduce any sort of labor abuse.
To think that not buying Apple products will (a) alter Apple's opinion at all and/or (b) will in any way positively affect those workers is wishful thinking.
Surely that is just being defeatist. We appear to accept any moral deviation as long as it is not too extreme. We justify our apathy by arguing that the problem is so widespread that we are powerless to do anything about it. We argue that we cannot directly make any difference, but it is because we all believe this that none of us do anything and the power of the masses is lost. We have become the ideal consumers and, more worryingly, we have become the mindless masses. For those of us that have some intellectual capacity we satisfy ourselves with pseudo intellectual passtimes. We are becoming everything that Orwell warned us against and yet we do not care because we have been convinced that any reference to Orwell is a cliche and therefore we discard it. Orwell failed to foresee his own pastiche and therefore he has become sterile.
I am SO ashamed of it all.
