My answer depends on what measures Apple had taken to ensure that the company were following Apple's supplier guidelines (ie any monitoring or just laissez-faire) and what measures they take now that lapses have been admitted - both against this company and to ensure that similar problems aren't happening at any other supplier.

Ugh!
Does Nick and Mathew even know what they are talking about?!?!?

Apple has announced its second Canadian store.
As was widely known, Apple Store - Toronto Eaton Centre has been under construction for some time. One could peek through the door crack and see a nearly complete store.
The newest Apple store will open its doors on Saturday, May 6 @ 9.30am
Awesome! I'll have to see if amacgenius wants to hoof up there this weekend.

It's all sour grapes over obsolete releases. Don't worry about it if you're using the current stuff.
Well I wouldn't call it sour grapes. As nagromme and his friend had big problems in OS 8 & 9. I did also, before getting my Cube, in which I ended up reinstalling to rid the problem. A lot of people still use OS9 because they have older machunes. They can't upgrade further and so sometimes have to use obslete apps.
off topic: I like the new tar. Halloween is the best. :D

A little rational perspective:

Also, if Konfab on Win doesn't have Expos... it's no Dashboard.

I take back my previous statement. :o I am at work and didn't have time to read the link. That is very disappointing. Hopefully we will see a full fledged sequel soon. It has been long enough.

hey.. i went to the apple store the other day.
next to a new powermac there was a sign that said "1.25 GHZ Mac" and when going to the system profiler, it said it was 1 ghz.
However, if you look at the back of the mac it says "1 GHZ Powermac" ... they indeed do not have the 1.25 powermac on display..
just wanted to clarify.. causa all those rumors about overclocking, etc..

If I were in your position, I would chose the Mac. Now, choosing between a new Mac and a Wii...that's a bit tougher. :)

My Quad usually takes two full days to do a 241-point protein.
And my office is just too hot as it is to have this thing cranking along with my PB, so I have offically begin my summer folding break. See you in November. :D

What does Lego's have to do with Star Wars? Who thought up that idea?
I take it that you have never seen the Star Wars line of legos?

How much more heat can those PBook's take before they combust, anyway? I can't see how Apple can take them too much farther before jumping to the upcoming 130nm G4.

I've noticed the same thing. The one thing I don't like about the forums getting as large as they have is there tends to be a lot of repitition which I think can drive ... oh :D
I see the same series of questions over and over again:
When will Apple make another PDA?
Can I rip DVDs on Mac?
What are some good Mac programs?
Should I buy a PB or an iBook?
How much RAM do I need?
A Mac for gaming?
It takes a few months, but guaranteed these questions will crop up. If we put up stickies on all those questions, would the newbies read them, or just post the same Qs anyway?

Yes, use Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) at the very least to clean out your system. Make sure to run an update before scanning, and to have Ad-aware run another scan at startup. Spybot will get rid of whatever, if anything, is left.
In the future, if your brother absolutely has to have Kazaa, Kazaa Lite Resurrection (I'm not linking to it, look for it on Google) is an adware-free and spyware-free "hacked" version and includes a few utilities that make Kazaa suck a lot less. But IMO there are enough alternatives to make Kazaa look like an obsolete dinosaur overrun by the likes of the RIAA and MPAA, something to avoid regardless of its ability to screw up your computer.
