Apple's Java is based on the Sun code. I don't know if it has the security bug or not.
I assume that Apple will release an update when Sun updates their code.
As for the plugin, that's usually just a trivial interface plugin to let generic browsers use the system-provided Java environment. Browsers that use plugins for Java (everything other than Safari, it seems) should all be using the same Java environment as those that directly access the Java component of OS X (only Safari, AFAIK.)

has anyone been able to download ANY game off this site? Every game I try I get an error message. Some great games too... simctiy 2000, prince of persia 2, etc. :(

First of all, I'm just going to assume that you're using Mac OS X only, and if you're not, just ignore my post :) .
The first step in repartitioning your drive is backing up all your data that you want, but seeing that you bought a new Mac, that might be nothing...
Second, take your Mac OS X install disk and put it in the computer and boot it up holding down the 'C' key. That will boot your computer from the CD.
As soon as you have control over the computer after bootup, go to the Installer menu (I'm not sure that's the one... it's whatever's between the Apple and Edit, if there's even an edit menu there...) and select "Disk Utility"
When that loads, select the "Partition" tag and then select your drive. It should be pretty apparant how to setup the partitions you want from there. My suggestion is to reserve about 4-5 gigs of the drive for your Mac OS X and some apps, and then you could partition the rest anyway you want. Either by subject, client, product, whatever... I'm not into graphic design so I don't really know...
Anwyays, after you've set that up, click Partition and it'll erase everything and repartition it for you.
Oh, and make sure that your OSX disk is an install disk not an upgrade disk! You won't be able to reinstall OSX after you partition if that's so...
Anyways, hope that helps. I'm sure others have some things to add or change, so listen to them :)

did you see anything that recommended in the last page. you need to tell the police to get ahold of MS to tell them that is was infact stollen . cause you wont get anything from them yourself. you have the log's and you have the hardware ID number. and your account that is being used by the thieve. they need to contact MS to get this resolved. cause MS just wont tell you alone i think you can understand why not.
you have all the paperwork for it which has the ID number for it so MS knows what system to look for. you just need to get the police involved with contacting MS.

If you think that's great, the Versiontracker page says that it's going to be at version 0.11, 2nd edition, "within an hour." :D
Apparently all it does is burn AIFF files to a CD. And the developers don't even seem to have a homepage. :eek:

I wonder if anyone knows of a good app to use with my UMAX scanner that runs under OS X 10.3.
I get tired of rebooting from OS X to OS 9 just to use my scanner! :mad:
I tried launching the app that came with the scanner under OS X, but the drivers do not load and the app cannot find the scanner, (UMAX MagicScan 4.5).
Any suggestion? :cool:

As Mac developers go, I like the Omni Group and think they're a shining example.

Whether any of the things on these boards are true (which most AREN'T), I still like getting my hopes up and having them hopelessly crushed when Apple delivers the product a year later than thought, or fails to deliver completely.

You know, I wouldn't mind Apple giving us their product plans before they release processors, maybe like 1/2-1 year early. Just keep the products and features that will house them secret. Isn't that what Intel does, announce a product waayyyy before it comes out?
Someone please tell me why Apple isn't already doing this. (Remember, just processor announcements, not new cases and things like the iPod)

I saw the XRaid announcement. I am just saying its release appears immenent (sp?). About the power usages, if it is only forty more watts, I could see that. The two extra HDs take about twenty, and the new optical and bus could use the other twenty. But, according to Apples website:

True, Apple does not specify the wattage of the new machines. But, with my limited understanding of wattage, if the amps double and the volts stay constant, the wattage changes (to about 700ish). Though, maybe this is not true.:cool:
