maby I'm missing something here...but for a graphics program they sure have a crappy website. I'm not saying it has to be mind blowing but it should atleast look a little pleasing to the eye. That's just...bleh
I think their just making an interface for GIMP which is a Unix graphics program.

I just joined MacRumor's seti@home team.
I had communication problems when I tried to connect to folding@home,
but when I have a few minutes, I'll give it another try.
When it works, the Verizon NationalAccess cardbus card is great!
Original core duo mac mini, powerbook g4 (1.67Ghz). Someday I'll load the boinc client on my dual core G5, emac G4, and G4 mini. But not today.

I dunno . . . maybe my need for "office" applications is not as serious as other folks, but why would an average Mac OS X user need 'M$ Office' when something like 'OpenOffice.org (http://www.openoffice.org/)' is available?
Document interchange still needs work. If I'm modifying an Office file for a customer, the formatting needs to be intact when I return it. OOo can't reliably provide that yet.

:D The antisocials. Geez.
To be fair, I actually liked the social atmosphere of a guild more than I liked the practical implications. I enjoyed interacting with people of decent intelligence (especially in the first non-raiding guild I was in, which was mostly just real life friends and their clan buddies who'd all known each other for years).
same here. :D
It's a bit part of it - players from around the world, together, doing quests, communicating. It's more sociable than sitting on Oblivion for hours I guess. But it is a game at the end of the day and Blizzard have been tried to stress that recently, especially in the tips: "Remember to play outside Azeroth with your friends too" (or something similar).
i suppose you're right. but still, if you don't want to communicate at all with others ingame, you shouldn't be playing MMO's XD

keep the G3 processor for the crt imac and constantly up its speed from time to time while lowering it $699, 599, and finally 499 usd
use the G3fx in the ibook until mwsf in january 2003...and then put in a G4 at that time
at the end of then pull the G3 from the crt imac and put a G4 in it and keep it as an educational and entry level mac
hopefully, sometime in 2003 and certainly by the end of that year, we will have the G5 in pro model towers
wishful thinking...i know, but it's a goal to shoot for (if crt imac goes to $599 usd and ibook gets G4 in mid-2003...that will actually not be bad, either)

But it has eight cores, and folding doesn't support multiprocessing for one WU, because it uses its outcomes of the previous processor cycle for new input. So I wonder... BTW, I really want to know how fast it goes through a tinker if it does uses both cores for a WU.
Umm....sorry to rain on your parade, but it DOESN'T have 8 cores.
I know the whole "quad processor" business is confusing, but it's just two dual-core processors.
Four would be absolutely ridiculous, and ridiculously expensive.

a notebook/subnotebook for under $1000 dollars wouldbe a great addition to the line up. So would an $899 emac entry level.

This is for everyone who doesn't know what the difference between 32 and 64 bit is. I found this on Google, it's very informative!

Some links for the John A. Vink fan club:
Here, at his friend Duane's homepage, is John talking about California (http://home.istar.ca/~sqm/NEWSTD.HTM).
Here, he is the 13th entry in Kelvin Chin's guestbook (http://books.dreambook.com/kchin/kelvinchin.html).
And, for the timid, don't click on the brain surgery link here. (http://www.javworld.com/)

Opera pushes it back until April (http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/en/2007/03/22/) "to finalize what promises to be the ultimate Web surfing experience on the Wii console." Umm, isn't it the only one?

So I am trying to figure out what exactly happened to Spikey.
It looks like there were multiple instances of his being banned. Does anyone know exactly what happened?
Arn, you would be the expert on this, of course....

In account of what has happened in the past, in Australia (No puns by request), when a product goes out of stock it may suggest that Apple is trying to run existing stock out to relace it with another newer or revised items.
Now the iPod has been out of stock for a while..

i think the best way for it to work is that the computer controls the theatre system, but is also accessed through the system, perhaps a simplified X platform that is only for media controlling, and is run from the computer. Airport should be used to link the main box (EQ, whatever) to the computer itself. The real question i have is what true advantages this has over present day systems-- certainly not costs... i guess you could enter your schedule into your PDA, it bluetooths to the computer and you see your iCalendar on the TV, or you can bring your ipod to a friend's house and play your songs without plugging anything in... in about any scenario, bluetooth plays a major role, i think...

Okay, for sake of argument lets say this actually happens. Moto releases what will be known as a G5 and Apple puts it in the iMacs, eMacs and iBooks. So since the 1.25s are going to be shipping soon, (way before January) then the iMac will have a G5 of say 1ghz and the Powermac will have a dual G4. Now what looks more powerful on paper, a G4 or a G5? Here's what I predict:
In January, Apple releases new hardware. The Powermac line gets converted to G5 while the 'i' line gets a speed bump. They will recieve a low-heat-and-power Moto G5 or maybe a further derivative of the IBM Power4 in the summer.:)
The reason why I insisted that they give the iMac, iBook, and eMac a G5 first is because I think it would be stupid if they gave the PowerMac, PowerBook, and XServe a G5 first and then had to replace it with a 64-bit G5 just a couple months later! Too much effort in too little time IMO. Besides, those PowerMac G4's are still DP. Hey, even in the PC world most servers and workstations don't get moved to next generation chips first. It is always the desktops and notebooks that are the first to get the new chips. ;)

Maybe this is just my OCD talking, but I don't understand why people are still calling it a Power4 Lite (particularly an IBM "employee" - yes I'm skeptical, technocoy) when IBM's already clearly labeled it a PowerPC 970. I think the continual usage of "Power4" in relation to the new CPU is misleading. When news of this chip first broke, I could understand the usage because it helped us to get an idea about what the chip was about, but now it's got a name and we know it's a fairly different animal from the Power4. It's not a high end server CPU like the Power4, it's a PowerPC chip, just like a G3 or a G4. Even though it's 64 bit, it's still a PowerPC.
I apologize for my anal-retentiveness.
EDIT: Guess I don't type as fast as alex ;)

FIRST OF ALL:
Apple doesn't MAKE your mouse, The designed NOTHING but the asthetics;
Second: You most likely already own a Logitech mouse, or a Fujitsu, don't believe me?
CHECK YOUR SYSTEM PROFILER! go into the USB section, look under the vendor information, most Apple USB keyboards and Mice are made by Fujitsu, newer models are made by Logitech; there is no visible difference, only the serial number will tell it apart aside from teh Profiler, you'll also be pleased to know that the Apple "pro" mouse also works on a PC just as well, and vice versa for USB mice.

I completely agree... it is so annoying. I have to mute the volume or click a link before the video starts.
Me too. Why would they do that? I hate the videos they love to put up. Especially when I'm listening to itunes and I start hearing voices ruining my music

If you click on where it says
"Detailed listing for projects 0 - 999 "
it will show you which projects/work units you have done so far.
Also, where it says WU - thats the number of work units you have done.
