Indoor Street Art by Paul Baines |
Posted: 26 Feb 2011 09:30 AM PST Yes, more photorealistic paintings, this time by Swedish painter Linnea Strid. Perhaps I am just pandering to popularity here, but "hyperreal seems to be the new real these days" (if Coke use that one in their next ad campaign they owe me royalties). Her work deals especially well with faces and liquids, reminiscent of hypperealist Korean artist Kim Sung Jin and Hilo Chen (both of which will probably be coming up in later posts). She'll also be exhibiting in Portland's LAX/PDX Show on March 15th alongside a whole heap of other big names in the contemporary arts scene. See more of her amazing work at Flickr and her portfolio at www.LinneaStrid.se. |
