I spotted this piece of art news via FacebookMatt Wagner has left his curatorial job at Portland, Oregon based Compound Gallery and opened his own gallery in the old town at the Hellion Gallery which focuses mainly on Japanese art and what a selection of visual treats they have on offer! Everything from sketches to pen and ink, paintings, prints and sculpture. As far as I'm concerned the Japanese have always had the edge when it comes to beautiful line and blended colour, and here's a few examples to prove my point.

6 inch Horns paper sculpture by Yasutaka Matsumoto Junk Baby 2 Print by Zach Johnsen Junk Baby Print by Zach Johnsen Limited Edition Bag by Shojono Tomo Lion by Yohei Takahashi Mukinshitsu by Peach Momoko PDX by Rei Mochizuki Rabbit Girl by Hikari Shimoda Rhino by Yohei Takahashi Thunder Eye Button by Thunder Eye button Untitled 2 by Mhak Untitled 3 by Eimi

See more Japanese art plus plenty of cool Japanese merchandise including highly limited edition bags and buttons at www.helliongallery.com. or keep up with all the latest at Facebook.
