| Tips To Capture the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Posted: 29 Dec 2010 11:21 AM PST  New Year is upon us and fireworks are a tricky subject to photograph. Here's some tips to get great photos. 1. The first and most important tip is bring a Tripod. Good fireworks photos require long exposures, and the best way to get them is by using a sturdy tripod. Or if for some reason you can’t get a hold of a tripod, secure your digital camera to something that will ensure it doesn't move during the shoot. 2. Find a great spot/location early. Walk around the area while it is still morning and look for a spot with an unobstructed view of the sky. 3. Set your ISO to the lowest settings possible and then set it at a larger exposure time. a high ISO can produce a lot of digital noise to your photographs set to 100 or below if possible. Then you need to make sure your shutter is open long enough to capture the fireworks. If you can possibly delay the exposure up to 15 seconds or more that would be better. You can experiment with different durations to see what works best. 4. And the last tip is: Have fun ! experiment and don’t be afraid to take lots of photos. Remember, you can always delete the unwanted ones later.    |
